Came to visit some friends and we opted to meet here. What a lovely wee cafe! Pity it's next to a rather tired-looking Costa though.
Very enticing shop-front, and inside is immaculate. I don't think I've been to cleaner cafe when visiting my Yorkshire pals. Bright, well-lit and lots of seating both up and downstairs, with a friendly, laid-back atmosphere.
Brilliant menu- lots of variety, they do soy and skinny milk, and more herbal teas (Clipper, nice and strong, thank you very much!) than the Costa next door can shake a coffee-stirrer at. My only criticism would be that their teas don't match the list on the menu. It was a bit embarrassing asking for a tea their menu claimed they had, only to be told they've not stocked that tea for 6 months.
Lots of freshly-made sandwiches and cakes also on offer too. My friend and I shared a gluten-free peanutbutter blondie, and it's hands-down one of the most delicious things I've ever had.
I'd quite cheerfully come here again, and I really wish there was a similar cafe in my home-city for me to frequent. This place is fab. Only slight hitch would be the teeny toilets. I can't speak for the men's, but the ladies' were in oddly-shaped wee cubicles and no room to swing a kitten in, let alone actually use the loo!
I'll definitely demand my friends take me here again however. Lovely place for a catch up! read more
