I finally got around to getting it fixed the day before I was leaving town and the owner/repairman was accommodating to my irresponsible timeline. It was fixed and ready when he said for the price he said and it's working and looking great! This repair shop is downtown on Smithe just off the Cambie St bridge, I walked over but observed parking on Beatty and Pacific nearby; there is no parking out front. Also, the shop is co-located with a Tailor which I believe is the owners wife, the items looked of good quality so I will keep her in mind for future tailoring needs. They are both nice and helpful. Happy to support this small, independent business. If I need these type of services again I will definitely be back.

My new screen was $99 after tax- an expensive slip on my part, but half the price (and way faster) than going to the Apple Store. 5/5 stars! Also the man who fixed my phone has a very cute baby who was hanging out at the shop as well, and she is also 5/5 stars.

I then crack my screen only a month later and the man working there charged me $45 with a screen protector. Only 3 weeks later my screen cracks again I go back and he says it'll cost me $65 dollars... I was so surprised. I told him he had charged me $45 earlier and he said he did not, he would never. He was in fact changing the prices up because he charged another customer $65 rather then $50 while I was in the shop. The employees change the price depending on how people interact with them which is absolutely ridiculous.

Fantastic service and reasonable price…read more I brought in my brother's iPhone while he was in hospital, and it was thoroughly screwed up. The down volume button was not working, which is also required with the power button to turn off. The lightning port was not working, so you could not charge or sync by cable. The ringer toggle switch was frozen in the off position so you could not hear if someone called or texted you. Basically it had experienced severe liquid damage from exceptionally sweet sugary liquid, and all that sugar had turned rock solid. The gentleman at VanCell diagnosed the issue on the spot. He suggested that the best fix was to replace the housing and charging port, which would be about 3 hours labour plus parts. By housing I mean the entire external part of the phone aside from the front glass, containing all the volume, power and ringer buttons. He literally had to open the phone, remove ALL the internal parts, re-install them in a new housing and then re-seal the entire device. That sounded pricey but the phone is relatively new and quite expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when he quoted me a net price of $190 pre-tax. It was closing time but he said he could do it the next day and have it done by afternoon. I picked it up at 4pm the following day and it literally looked and worked like a brand new phone. He had also thrown in a new screen protector to replace the cracked one I brought it in with. I had forgotten to bring the charging cord and block with me to bring to my brother, so I added them as well. The final bill for the parts and labour, screen protector, cord, charging block and tax was $240. That seemed extremely reasonable to me, as I'm an industrial electrician and would be billed out at WAY more than that for 3 hours labour plus materials. I live in New Westminster myself, but if I ever need work on my own phone I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Everyone needs to know a few good, key trades people in life...a good plumber, electrician and mechanic, and in today's world of $1 to 2k flagship phones, a good smart phone technician. VanCell is that guy.

I managed to smash the glass of my OnePlus One screen and render the touchscreen digitizer useless. It should have been in a case but those aren't too easy to find locally. As I'm on a small fixed income I ordered the broken parts from China for $25. It took forever. Unfortunately the phone glass is fused with glue to the LCD so it is very difficult to replace one without damaging the other. Nevertheless, Sukhy gave it a shot, despite having never worked on this model of phone before. Prior to going to BeyondScreen I went to another repair place that flat out refused.. And I used to work there! Even though we couldn't use the old LCD, he managed to get a replacement screen in much faster than if I'd ordered it from China, and knocked a big chunk off my bill despite all the extra work he'd done, and having had to learn a whole new phone. It looks and works great and I am very satisfied.
