I found Art on YELP. I emailed him and got a response with the hour. He quoted me a price but has a $50 minimum. We talked about where I lived and he said he would be in my area in a few days. We kept in touch and he met me in the Kailua Whole Foods parking lot as agreed. He only charged me for the knives he sharpened. Very professional, does everything out of his truck. Had to leave this yelp review because i was super stoked that my knives were brought back to life and the process of getting them sharpened was super easy. Knives are better now then when I bought them! For awhile I have been dealing with dull knifes, even thought about buying new ones. But now my Kitchen knives have a nice bevel edge and are awesome to use in the kitchen. Makes cooking super easy Now! Cuts meat like butter! Cutting filets on fish is much easier now. Art is really easy to talk to on subjects other than knives, great conversationalist while u wait! Mellow and real approachable. Prices super reasonable. Also, I didn't know you could sharpen yard tools so planning on seeing what he can do with my tree trimmer and hedge shears. I wasn't aware they are in different areas during the week. did a great job on my girlfriend's set of very expensive knives. Was timely and professional. We talked about the level of sharpening that was appropriate. He was very knowledgeable about each kind of knife in the set and what was indicated for each. The knives came back at least as sharp as when they were new (many years ago) and they were polished and gleaming. Am looking forward to getting this done a few times a year as it makes a tremendous difference in the kitchen for a very reasonable price. can't recommend mobile sharpening highly enough. read more

Art was an easy going approachable guy. I called and left a voicemail and he called me back almost instantly to see how he could help me. Because I wanted pocket knives sharpened he said he could be available after 5pm; basically any day that worked for me. I made an initial appointment but ended up having to cancel but it wasn't an issue. He just rescheduled on a moments notice. When it came down to sharpening the knives, he definitely is an expert and sharpened three of my knives in minutes. He is also a good conversation holder which made the experience even more enjoyable. I recommend using his services every time. read more

Fantastic experience. I sharpen most of my knives myself, but needed help with scissors. I called around 10a and we were able to work out the appointment details through text. I had 6-7 pairs of scissors and a pocket knife. Mobile Sharpening pulled up outside my office at 1:30p, tested each before and after sharpening and was done before 2p. Was told they can sharpen paper-cutter blades as well and my office plans to call him back to take care of ours. It's possible I could have found a cheaper place in Chinatown, but I'm thrilled to pay $5-6 per set of scissors to have them done so quickly and on-site. read more
