A lot has changed apparently in the six years since the previous reviews of this Shell gas station…read more Instead of a repair garage, the building is now a convenience store only, part of the Seasons Corner Market chain (see my other review). Gas pumps are still under the Shell brand. The station is in a primo location for this type of business: the intersection at the entrance to Bonnet Shores, and surely they reap the benefit of traffic to and from Narragansett beaches. There are a decent number of gas pumps, and the parking lot is adequately sized. Everything appeared well maintained, and there are two bathrooms inside.

First time I took my car here to be inspected they put new wiper blades on without my permission…read morebecause they "thought I would like them"...new wipers were not necessary to pass the inspection, and they wanted to charge me $26 for them. I made them take the wiper blades off and fish my old ones - which were about a month old - out of the garbage...I think they were just upset that they couldn't find anything that "needed" repair. Two years later, and my husband - who is a mechanic, but his garage does not perform inspections - takes his car up there to be inspected. Of course, he checked his car out before hand to ensure it would pass. So he was a bit surprised when the guy told him it failed, because of "the smoke"...my husband asked, "You mean the exhaust?" guy's face lights up, "Yeah, the exhaust!" My husband says, "So you want to replace my catalytic converter?" It was like Christmas morning for this guy, "Yeah!" - probably becuase that is an $800 repair job. My husband took the car back to his garage, had his coworker check it out with him - nothing wrong with the catalytic converter or anything else. So my husband went up to the state garage, where they gave him a perfect report, and a new sticker - no issues at all. My theory?? They have been inspecting our cars for years, and have never made a dime off of us. They keep records of these things, so they know we have never had a repair there. I would stay away...never mind the fact that the gas there is a good 10 cents more than any other station in the area.

Formerly a Hess, this gas station/convenience store has existed in this location quite some time…read more Let me state right off the bat: any gas station/convenience store that lacks a public bathroom will get, at most, 3 stars from me. That was one of the first things I looked for, and my question was immediately answered by the hand-taped sign on the door. On the positive side, the older gentleman behind the cash register greeted me as soon as I walked in, and was cordial during my transaction. Also, this business is in a prime location: Route 1-A, at the junction with Route 138, so it's a convenient stop when you're getting on or off the Jamestown Bridge. Unfortunately, the negatives outweigh the positives, hence my 2 star rating. The store is rather small, so they feature a somewhat limited selection of drinks and snacks. Stocking was spotty in some areas, particularly chips. Also, the parking lot is too small, even for a store this size. Finally, traffic on this road can get busy in the summer.

This station is located on the outskirts of Wickford Village. Even when I lived in town, though, I preferred to go to other gas stations, because this one has a funky parking lot, with little room to maneuver. Furthermore, it's located at a very busy intersection, so pulling in and out of here can be difficult. Although I still drive by here occasionally, I would be unlikely to get gas here, since their gas prices are relatively high. For instance, as of today (7/19/2018), they were charging $2.99 a gallon for regular unleaded, which I can get in West Warwick for 25 cents cheaper. Granted, gas prices tend to be higher in South County, but they are higher than many gas stations in N.K. Furthermore, the convenience store is tiny, and I didn't notice a public bathroom. There is a small coffee station to the left of the counter, but not much was brewing there when I stopped in around 11 a.m. Selection of drinks, snacks and convenience store items is very basic, and I noticed some big gaps in stock. Bottled water and Red Bulls got hit particularly hard. The female cashier was very chatty with what were presumably regular customers, and she talked very animatedly, waving her hands around. Normally, I would rate this gas station and convenience store at 2 stars; I'm only giving 'em 3 stars because of nostalgia and longevity.

The station has a variety of unleaded and diesel products including Shell V-Power NiTRO+ Premium Gasoline and Shell Midgrade Gasoline. A small convenience store is located here as well, where you can grab a snack or get money out of an ATM. This fuelling location has a car wash as well.
