It's a tiny town outside of Litchfield. Population, 2,300. We don't have anything in town, except a post office, library, gas station, small restaurant, and liquor store. Basically everything we need LOL. Well, our gas station, this XtraMart, is staffed by wonderful people who know us all. I go in every morning for a pack of smokes and they are waiting for me. But what I am really reviewing here is the Breakfast Sandwiches. Yeah, you read that right. Gas. Station. Breakfast. Sandwiches. Why? BECAUSE YOU'VE NEVER HAD ANYTHING SO SIMPLY DELICIOUS IN YOUR SHORT LIFE, MY FRIEND. They are made in house in the tiny deli (Deli Joes). Wrap your mind around this. One, soft, fresh, bulkie roll. TWO, yes I said TWO fried eggs. A MASSIVE pile of perfectly crisped bacon, sandwiched between the two fresh, fried eggs and two pieces of perfectly melted American cheese. All this for LESS than $3. I pay more for the frozen/microwaved/crap deals from fancy places. They offer plain cheese, bacon, sausage, and EVEN a veggie option for you non-carnivorous people out there. Our intrepid heroine battled through the increasing snowflakes, relentlessly flying in the face of her windshield, windshield wipers adequately beating them back. The gas tank gauge hovered precariously at the 1/3 line, then plummeted to 2/12. Disaster seemed, well, not imminent but forthcoming in the next day. Luckily, Litchfield has one gas station that dares to be open past 10 pm, one that CARES enough for wayward travelers to be able to fill up in the winter at an hour night owls find early. I present the Reena Citgo, a beacon of light in an otherwise cold, dark wasteland with limited cell phone service. The station is a little awkward coming in and out at time, the pumps are right by the road, but if you're running into the service station there is parking and entrance in the back. The prices are a little high, if you're in need of emergency eggs it's so much easier then Stop and Shop.

We recently needed some air for our tires, and when we stopped the air machine was available for $1.25 (for air???). Two things, though: one, the money goes to a local charity, and two, if you walk in and ask the attendants they will turn it on for free. We needed air in all our tires which took some time, and the attendants weren't bothered at all. Nice guys. A nice policy. They dispense Shell gas at a price equal to or maybe a penny or two lower than neighboring competitors. We're happy to return here.

Asked for a lunch sandwich at 9am and he started shaking his head. I told him never mind, and he called me a f****** idiot while I was walking out. Probably for the best- deli case was dirty and sandwich guy was very confused as to why a customer wouldn't choose to purchase their food food after he showed anger/disapproval while taking my order. If this guy can't understand his own social cues I have a hard time believing he's able to remember to wash his hands. Hope you guys can figure this out how to make the angry Q-Tip come to terms with the fact that working at a deli means making food when a customer asks them to.

It's close to the first exit off Route 8 heading north with minimal stop signs to get there, so if you're in a gas pinch it's a happy sight to see. The station itself is pretty clean, and have a wider variety on snacks for the weary traveler then chips and soda. The downside is they don't consistently print their receipts at the pump and going in can require a wait in line.
