Amstar is a little neighborhood gas station and convenience store…read more The gas station is the standard pay-at-the-pump set up. The convenience store also has what you'd expect: Lottery tickets Junk food Road trip necessities They're within walking distance from my house, so we pretty much fuel up here exclusively. And, do, on occasion walk down for this or that. What they don't have: Refrigerated coffee creamer They may have the powdered stuff (not totally sure) but definitely no dice on the good stuff. Glad to have them close by, but they're definitely a bare bones, no frills, necessity kinda station/store.

Gotta bump this mufucka up. It's right by the pad, so it's convenient. I don't buy gas a whole lot…read moreso if that's a factor, I may not really be your guy. IF, HOWEVER, you are into welding, crust punk, and extreme sexual role-play, let's kibbutz. Any ol' way... it's a got-dam gas station. Don't expect much. You've all been to a gas station, right? No? Well, sweetie- it's where a whole lot of us regular-ass people have to spend a lot of time we'd rather spend at the rocky horror picture show version of Dave & Busters. So a gas station that makes it a little less annoying/banal is worth note. Like a brotha sez, I don't buy gas a whole lot. *Protip- buy a freakin' motorcycle already. chixdiggit I'm not even a regular. 5 times or so in 2 and a half months. I don't know if the gas is a good deal, but that, my little ghost of Liberace, does not a gangsta-ass gas station make. If you just do the ol' in-out-in-out on your normal fuel spot, you probably realize you are in no place to judge our most frequented, mid-asian owned hydrocarbon and processed food outlets. You have, at best, a nonchalant, symbiotic relationship that is anything but intimate. Thus the crux of this here fookin' reee-view. They were out of the frozen pizza I wanted once. They only have, like, one kind of tortilla chips. The coffee, however, is actually better than most gas station coffee. And the folks- DEM FOLKS. All super nice and sincere when they tally up your shit and send you on your way with well wishes. So, in the ultimate scheme of things, all gas stations are shitty places we go to because we have to. But this Shell station (an evil corporation, BTW, but ma and pa gas stops like this barely give any of your skrilla to their corporate death squads) is run by nice people. A whole metric butt-ton of other places are not. Even Davey likes it. If you find your sorry ass in my neighborhood (probably because you thought it was a good idea to go to Kelly's Bleachers, where your cell phone got stolen and your girlfriend got acne) you should get some shit there. I love you.

Today that wariness was validated when I stopped in to get a BP gift card for a co-worker celebrating a 30th service anniversary. The only gift cards they have are in $25, $50, and $100 increments, and you can only buy them with cash. In the year 2021, professional athletes can be paid partially in bitcoin, but at this gas station you have to pay cash for a gift card... The clerk had no explanation or reasoning for the policy, and made no apologies for the inconvenience. I went to Speedway instead.

Last time I was here I…read moreonly told the female workers which gas pump I used to get my receipt successfully ,but there was this African American cashier that screwed me over today for the gas transaction. I told him which gas pump to get my receipt, but he said what is the price on the gas pump which I don't know I don't look at it before coming in. He said he can't do anything about it unless he got the price which is dumb. All he had to do is press one button to look up the gas pump or call the manager in charge to get help which he did not. So I went outside to check price and told him about it he said well it is too late now I have to wait in line. Me and my family will never do business with this company ever again!!!!! We will do our business elsewhere!!!!!

Pump layout is wonky and inconvenient - hard to get to and they have giant pump protectors which seem to line right up with my door. Other gas stations offer that too. The staff is friendly enough. The reason I am giving it two stars: - I don't like the layout of the car wash. It is very inconvenient. A lot of times I could not get the machine to work and it was a pain to get out of there. There is no extra lane to go around if you decide you do not want a car wash. The vacuums are set up in a spot that usually blocks the line for the car wash when it gets longer. - When you fill up with gas, this loud annoying advertising comes blaring out of the pump. The man in the pump tries to get you to buy more stuff, get a Jetz reward card because it is so awesome, etc. When I pump gas, I don't want to be barraged with loud advertising. I only stop here if I am really low on gas and I happen to be driving by. Pumps are open 24/7.
