They had lots of snacks and treats for humans too. The gentleman ahead of me in line asked if he could have a dog treat. The smiling gentleman at the register whips out a big container of the giant sized dog treats as if it was some super sized dog trick or treat. I was next. He says," Take two." Smiling and laughing. That the diesel offered at this station is advertised as Diesel #2. When I arrived I went it to pay for my tank and in very fine print it says the diesel contains at least 20% biomass making it Biodiesel NOT Diesel #2. Many cars such as mine cannot take Biodiesel as it damages the engine within even a few uses. Extremely misleading and even dangerous advertising. And it's ultimately a cash grab. When I thought this up with management, it was explained away as a "California thing". After research this was just straight up false. It's just a cash grab. Biodiesel costs much less to the station than Diesel #2. This is a frankly disgusting business practice and needs to be exposed. If they lie about this I wonder what else they lie about...

Then he tried to get me to have my headlights cleaned. Next he tried to act like he was giving me a deal to have my headlights and $50 wash done for over $100. What the hell! Two people were waiting before I walked in and I got my car first. The pictures are of how badly my car was "cleaned". I'm taking them in the parking lot of my doctor's office. I have a lot to do today. If I didn't have a full day of appointments scheduled; I would have demanded a re-clean. I don't have the time to go back. This is ridiculous! How can they charge $50 for this. I could take so many more pictures, but I have an appointment to get to. Do not trust this place. I should have looked at the Yelp comments before going. As far as Gas Stations go, this Chevron really deserves a fair word…read more Sure it was closed for a while but they reopened a year or so ago and it's now a reliably A-OK place to fill your tank and shop for snacks when you exit West on I-5 to La Costa Ave. It's awesome that the credit card prices for this station's gas are actually the same as the "discounted" cash only prices at the Mobil Station located approx. 1/2 mile South on 101 in Leucadia! What's also COOL about this place is that many of the people who stop here are locals and are cheerfully willing to initiate a friendly conversation while you are filling up. At first this unnerved me, since I moved to the area from SF and LA, as I mistakenly thought that I was gonna be "jacked" when complete strangers began speaking to me. My initial responses were therefore pretty taciturn as I discreetly began un-clipping the lil ol pepper spray canister in my pocket! What's NOT COOL is that the entrances/exits to this station are on a road that quickly merges from two lanes to one and certain douche-bag drivers will "floor it" in to the merging lane unaware that there are also cars trying to enter and leave the station. This is my regular gas station and I come here at least once a week since they opened. It's not the…read moreclosest gas station to my home but with the car wash and the numerous amount of vacuums, it keeps me coming back for more. I rarely check in because its listed as San Diego Gas and Carwash instead of what it is...a Shell! I just can never find it when I try to check in so it's a pain in the butt. While I am a fan of this gas station, I'm noticing as it ages, the vacuums are breaking at an alarming rate. They either don't have any suction or stations are missing hoses completely. I often find myself going from station to station to find one that works. The car wash also sometimes smells really bad. I have to wonder if they reuse the water and if it's safe - the smell is unbearable sometimes when you go through. You can't escape it. I noticed they recently placed people at the end of the car wash to dry off the cars better....I LOVE this and willing to tip/pay extra for that extra level of service. While I'm a fan...I really hope they start fixing these things to keep me from going to a location closer to the house. If I'm just getting gas and getting a car wash, I can get that at Bressi but I regularly have to vacuum after a week of activities with the kiddo and 8/10, i'm able to do so here.

The monitor to scan code or pay from your car is just broken forever. The gate they have to manually lift. There are some sponges in the wash that aren't rotating. Today all the vacuums were down. 2. Smells like a sewer. It's disgusting. 3. Service is ALL over the place but usually ranges from bored, disinterested, or rude. Go somewhere else. It's not worth the hassle
