If you want good food, with good flavour, at a good price, with good service, go here!
Three of us went for dinner. The first thing I noticed was the place is bigger. It's been redesigned and redecorated, and they've done a good job. Seating was neither plush nor tacky, but just right I suppose. It was a bit cold though.
The menu is not extensive, and granted, we didn't try every single dish on it, but it seems that whatever dishes they do, they're done well. I had a seekh kebab to start with, which was basically two sausagey looking things dumped on a plate and served to me. OK it's not going to win awards for presentation, but so what? It tasted REALLY good.
My main was the lamb bhuna, plus chana masalla and plain rice. The rice was perfect and piping hot, so no problem there. The bhuna was actually very very tender, perhaps even a bit too soft, but the taste was superb. I couldn't fault them for the chana masalla either. Coriander, man! Oh, and the meat is HMC approved, so no worries about it being halal either.
There were plenty of families in the place and the service was very good. Concerned, attentive but not pushy.
When I went to wash my hands I was very impressed. Movement sensing taps! And decent basins to stick your mitts in. Soap was decent and not diluted, as regrettably some establishments do. The hand dryer was like a jet engine. Thumbs up here, too.
Would I go there again? Absolutely. read more
