The employee stated in the past they have damaged the rooms and that is the new owner's policy. He has stayed at this motel several times in the past without any issues. They didn't ask for ID and just turned him away. In our eyes him living in Pahrump, NV doesn't make him a "local". The business needs to revisit their policy and educate their staff on how to screen guests.

Pros: It's close to Valley of Fire, inexpensive, next to a gas station, restaurant, and bar. Rooms were big, clean-ish (get to that later), and quiet. Everything worked. There was a mini fridge. It's run by employees at the 24/7 gas station so check-in is always available. Cons: This place is cheap and out of the way. It's clean, but definitely beat up. You just know these rooms have seen some things. There does appear to be permanent/long term residents but we weren't bothered by it. The day and night staff seem to have a hard time communicating to each other. This isn't my first rodeo with cheap hotels, so I tempered my expectations. When a place doesn't have a reservation system, ALWAYS have a back-up plan (even if that means sleeping in your car). I called a week prior to make a reservation. Name, phone number, dates is all they asked. Needed a late check-in (1am) since flight would get us in late. No problem. Of course our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours. I called ahead and was told no problem. The room would be waiting. Arrived to the motel at 3:30am. Went to the gas station to check in. I was given a puzzled look by the employee and then told "we don't have any rooms". I explained that I called, she took out the reservation book and I pointed out the room number, dates, and my initials. Some employee didn't bother looking at the book and just gave my room away earlier in the night. Of course I'm standing there thinking my wife and I will be sleeping in the car for the night. Then she asks another employee about a room without a key. They have physical keys and haven't been renting rooms that keys have been lost for. They gave us the room without a key. Not a huge deal, but it did require us to check-in with the employees each time we needed to get back into the room. We didn't leave any valuables in our room since there it's possible someone had the missing key. We spent our entire days out, so not too inconvenient. Although each time I asked to be let into the room, I was given a look of bewilderment by employees until I explained the circumstances each time. They really don't have decent communication skills between shifts or each other. Room was worn down, but fine. Again, this was $60. The door had clearly been kicked in at some point and repaired not too well. There was a small smudge of makeup on the sheet. The AC worked, water pressure was good, TV and fridge worked. The staff was pleasant and helpful outside of initially giving my room away. The daytime manager was very nice. I'd stay again if in the area and needing a place to crash.

Just when you are out in the desert, before Mesquite, you turn off toward Logandale and in just a few miles you find parking for the county fair. Once you enter the gates to the fair you feel transported to someplace else. It is green and has shade trees everywhere. Locals are pulling out their camping chairs and claiming their spots underneath a canopy of old trees. It seems like a giant family picnic or reunion. Off to the left is a building hosting artwork, photography, and a ton of crafts. There is a little shop inside with inexpensively priced snacks and drinks. There was a face painter on the way out of that building as you work your way to the large entertainment building with a terrific stage and seating area. We saw illusionists, a hypnotist, bands, and a drumming duo - show after show after show. Then back outside we saw strolling jugglers, a baseball comedy fire show, a one-man band, and many vendors. Beyond the myriads of vendors was a building full of more vendors including one selling amazing fudge. Back up towards the office we saw another stage with a lot of dancers. Then there were some barns and other buildings working our way back around the fairgrounds. Beyond that was the carnival full of great rides and games and vendors from Brown's Amusements. We spent the entire day there and had so much fun. When we told my dad about it, he insisted on going next year. So, we have plans to visit him in Vegas and take him to the 2026 Clark County Fair and Rodeo.

Best day ever at the Camel Safari! Guided by Adam and Allie-two of the most knowledgeable,…read morefriendly, and genuinely caring people you'll ever meet . This experience was unforgettable from start to finish in their 165 acre property. We kicked off the day with a short ride on Jafar, a stunning, gentle giant weighing nearly 3,000 pounds. ( love at first sight) After taking some amazing photos with him, he happily stayed nearby and spent the rest of the day with us. From there, we met several other camels and hopped on the tram, where more adventures were to be had . Along the way, we encountered so many incredible animals, more camels, a zedonk, llamas, alpacas, and miniature horses. One of the highlights was feeding Thorn, their adorable pet porcupine, grapes she was just the sweetest little girl. We also got to see New Guinea singing dogs (so cute!) and Ambien, their 20-year-old sloth, who was just as amazing to see in person as you'd imagine. Feeding the alpacas and llamas carrots was such a fun, hands-on experience. As if that wasn't enough, four friendly Ridgeback dogs casually joined us on the tram, roaming freely and adding even more charm to the day. Every animal we encountered was gentle, well cared for and clearly loved . I truly can't say enough wonderful things about this experience it was pure joy from beginning to end. If you've never met a camel, Ilama, or alpaca, you're missing out. These gentle creatures will absolutely fill your heart. I'm already looking forward to going back again soon. I didn't want the day to end . This is one adventure you don't want to miss it's truly an overload of joy! "LIVE LIFE WITH LOVE & LAUGHTER" ~PEACE JODY~

Guy the owner, an amazing bank of knowledge, he knows so much about each animal and more. He is a little rough around the edges and some may think him rude; you try to manage a 176 acre ranch with well over 60 animals who have to be fed daily, not so easy... The Camels have a diet of lettuce, carrots, sweet potatoes, apples; the sloth has a special diet which includes egg whites, the ranch dogs get the yolk as a daily treat and they know when that's coming. So in addition to taking care of all the animals, the ranch which is 176 acres, there are also tours to manage. So show him a little appreciation for what he does every day, seven days a week, etc... You can do camel rides, an ATV experience, a zoo tour on a tram, it's not easy and I feel for him so if you go out there, understand his personality has to be rough to deal with all this. Also understand, each animal has its own personality and feelings. Yesterday, Norm a camel used for rides was having a bad day. He was not in the mood for riders. I first tried to ride Norm, he was calm getting his saddle on but once I got on him, he was nope. When Allie got me off of Norm, Norm had an attitude with both Allie and Guy, Norm had to be put in a kennel which Norm was not happy about but needed a time out. So remember, dealing with 30 camels, mini horses, a Llama, Alpacas, a sloth, etc; they are dealing with a lot of different personalities and feelings in addition to people coming to visit. Safety is taken as a HIGH priority. These animals can inflict pain & even death, so I have a LOT of respect for Guy & Allie. They not only have to be concerned with adults but children as well. We arrived at 8:45 which is when the gate is opened, we met Allie and Guy along with another couple. We rode first and as I said Norm was not happy so I got off and they took my friend around the track. Upon coming back with my friend, a whole group showed up for the zoo tour so we were asked if we minded doing the zoo tour and then we will get back to the camel ride. No biggie... The zoo tour was amazing. We got on the tram and were taken to see every animal on the property stopping in each area, learning all about the animals in that area with the opportunity to ask questions, got to go in the kennel to feed the Llama and Alpacas, cool animals, petted the zebra, fed and petted the porcupine, got up close and personal with the sloth and just had an amazing experience. The knowledge gained yesterday was so cool. Once the zoo tour was over I got to ride Lodi. The camel ride was really cool, long and a really neat experience I would do again. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you go out and visit this Camel Safari. They need the support as they have a lot of mouths to feed daily and you will have an amazing experience in the Nevada desert.

The drive from Vegas is an hour long straight shot up the I-15, once you do get into Moapa drive slow and carefully. There are a lot of speed traps waiting for visitors and the last portion of the drive here is windy and unpaved. Definitely not the most visitor friendly drive. There are lots of activities to do here and they offer several wristband packages to bundle experiences. We opted for the white wristbands ($34/pp) which include all general admission activities, the haunted maze, the haunted hayride and 2 turns at the corn shot. The maze had about a 30-45 minute wait when we got there and the wait got longer from there, but in my opinion it was worth it. We had some good screams and laughs and got through the maze pretty quickly. The haunted hayride honestly was a dud, but it was nice to sit down for a while after standing so long for the maze. They could honestly just stick to a regular fall themed hayride. They also had a bunch of other activities that were included in general admission ($12) like swings, pig races, a small petting zoo, and more. There was plenty to do, but in the future I would probably save a little bit of money and only opt into the maze. I was a bit disappointed in the food selection here. They catered very heavily towards fall fair like desserts, but didn't offer much in terms of actual food. We still did order the fried apple slices and a deep fried cheesecake, along with a couple of hotdogs. I was sorely disappointed by the apples slices because there just tasted like fried dough, the apple almost disintegrated and disappeared after the frying process. The cheesecake was good but incredibly decadent and is best shared between two people. The hotdogs were run of the mill, thin and unimpressive. I added cheese to mine and the bun was so thin it fell apart immediately. For the price per dog, I would have expected Hebrew Nationals. The pumpkin patch was a bit of a long walk away from everything else and by about 10pm we couldn't find too many good pumpkins. We opted to pick some corn instead and I have to give it to them, that corn was sooooo sweet and delicious once cooked. It was definitely a fun night, but with HalloweenTown in Boca Park available in the future I'll probably save gas and stay in town.

I paid 100% in advance. I was picked up by the airport nearly one hour late. When the driver, Taylor, got out of the car a huge cloud of marijuana smoke came out with him. It wasn't a limo or town car but an older model, dirty Mercedes - perhaps 15 years old, very small with a tiny backseat. There barely any room for my carryon bag in his trunk - and I had to cram into the back seat because he had a dog in the front seat with him. Taylor was pretty spaced out and had trouble finding my hotel, the Vdarra. He was also unfamiliar with other Vegas landmarks - like the Aria, the Bellagio, Park MGM. I had to pull out my phone to help him navigate to my hotel. He apologized for being late and not having a town car or limo - but he said the limo had been locked up or repo'd and Peter was working to get it out. I was really worried that he lacked the competence to pick me up for the game - so after confirming he was the driver for the next day, I showed him that he should pick me up at the exact same spot he dropped me off at - and I explained it was critical that he wasn't late. I also reminded him a friend would be joining me, so we would need a bigger car or at least the front seat free of his dog. Taylor no-showed the next day of course. We called, texted, yelp-messaged and availed ourselves of every contact number we had. No one answered. No one came. After about 75 minutes of this we took a taxi. About 3 hours later, Taylor texted and said he was sorry - he didn't realize his phone was on vibrate and missed all of our texts and phone calls. He claimed he was there the whole time, however (he absolutely wasn't). Peter also yelp-messaged about the same time saying "Let me try!" and nothing more. He refused my requests to call me. After the game, surprise-surprise, they no-showed again. We waited about an hour and a half in the designated meeting spot with no response to phone calls or texts. Eventually, found a free driver to take us back to the hotel for $100. And again, with no surprise, they no-showed the pre-booked trip to the airport. Still no call or contact from Peter and team. While their rate was very competitive, this company is a clown act. If you must book them, absolutely do not pay in advance and I would never, ever, trust them with anything important.

As we were admiring her booth partner's crystal display, she tried to convince me to do a $20 reading, saying it was normally $65 at her shop (though I see on her Fremont page that she does $10 readings). She said she was picking up some kind of energy from me. I've actually had 2 other people randomly approach me for psychic readings saying they got some kind of "energy" from me over the years at Macy's, random parking lots. Perhaps I look gullible? We thought it would be fun, my partner & I being into spiritual things like that. He wanted to sit in, but she said that was not allowed. She had me shuffle the tarot cards then laid them out in a double pyramid. She asked if my parents fought a lot. I never saw them fighting though they eventually got divorced, but she insisted that they did. This could be common amongst all people though. She asked if that was my partner and if we had a baby together. I affirmed yes. She said there was definitely infidelity on his part and that it was someone he had seen before in the past and that she knew about me because he tells her about me and that she is into negative, harmful spirituality and was doing negative work to put distance between us. She offered to do a spiritual cleansing for $250 (for which she normally charged $900 at her office) to rid us of this third party. She said not to tell him and that was why she sent him away. I felt like all the energy left my body. My partner denied it all and was so mad he paid $30 to reenter the festival because he wanted to cuss her out. He said too bad she's pregnant otherwise he would beat her up. Time will tell if she was right or not, but if this is a scam, that is really f-d up. After reading other Yelp reviews about her, she seems less than reputable. I told him what if she incorrectly read the cards but really believed that that's what they were saying, but he believes she was malicious not merely incompetent. If she turns out to be right, I'll update my review. She said I was supposed to find out about this other person on my own soon. But if she was wrong, I find it highly irresponsible and potentially damaging to other people's lives. I guess in this industry, there is no liability. I had another psychic from SoCal incorrectly predict the gender of our baby (we didn't even ask her, she just offered), and another reader that we got for free at an event didn't even read the name of the card correctly, so I haven't had good experiences and will probably stay away in the future.
