I ran out of dog food while out west. We altered our route to go by this cute little store in October to pick up dog food. I called ahead, paid for it and pulled in, the employee working at the time threw that 40 lbs of food over her shoulder and carried it to my vehicle. What a nice gesture and nod to customer service! All in all it took me less than 5 min to get the dog food and was able to catch up to my husband driving our RV. I forgot her name, but she knows who she is! read more

Great pet supply store with lots of special, hard-to-find high quality foods and accessories. Customer service is awesome and they always have something nice to say. My only gripe is being closed Sun-Mon. I understand Sunday, but being closed Monday usually throws a wrench in my errands since it's a 50 minute drive to town. I hope someday they reconsider their hours. I really try to shop locally and not give big corporate any business, but sometimes a delivery is to my home is priceless. read more

Didn't bring our pup to Moab with us so we decided to bring him back some treats so that he'd forgive us . We stopped by the Barkery and were very welcomed. All of the ladies in the store asked about our pup and what we were looking for. They were super positive and very helpful. We ended up getting him some Rotisserie Chicken flavored Bark Pops and the cutest alligator looking dental chew bones. (see picture). He absolutely loves both! Such a great experience! read more

I loved this place. Very nice selection of all kinds of different pet related food/treat/walking/toy items. I( loved that they have biodegradable poop bags. The teller did mention not to leave them in your car too long as they will disintegrate-and she was right. It made me feel good to know they really, REALLY are biodegradable. I am happy I bought several rolls (and only ruined a few bags left in my car). The clerk was friendly and attentive, as well as knowledgeable. Great place read more

Lovely staff and a great selection of pet supplies that seem carefully curated. The self service grooming is a great option for anyone on the road with a dirty doggo. Everything you could need is readily available and it's a great deal for the cost. We were especially happy to be able to groom our dog ourselves because she can get a little anxious with strangers. We stopped here on our visit to get our pup a surprise from Moab. Normally, she travels with us but this trip was for a wedding and she had tos tay home. Yeah, yeah, we're 'those' people. The staff greets you as soon as you walk in, and the entire place is squeaky clean. It isn't cluttered at all, and everything is easy to find. Prices on everything from food to gear are comparable to anywhere you might find in a bigger town, and we were able to find our pup a super cool collar for a great price. Definitely worthh a stop if you're a pet lover- whether they're with you or not! read more

We were staying in Moab for a week, and our house was right down the street from the Barkery, so we took our disabled Corgi, TullyMars in and used the self-serve dog bathing room. It was great! Nice clean equipment, tons of fresh towels, excellent shampoo & conditioner and a dryer that didn't scare our dog when we used it. Could not have worked out better. Besides the bathing service, the store stocks everything you could need for your furry buddies,and the ladies running the store are soooooo nice and friendly. If you're a local pet parent or a visitor traveling with a pet, be sure and stop at the Barkery. I only wish they had a store in my town. read more

This is the greatest pet store. Their natural and organic considerations for product sourcing has impressed me from the first time I went in-I was looking for a rope toy and they told me they don't carry any because they can't find a source that doesn't saturate the rope in harmful dyes. Most pet stores would rather make those bucks on such a popular dog toy. It showed me that they really care about animals and ecological practices. In addition, I was struggling with where I should buy dog food because the brand I was previously buying could be found cheaper at the local drug store chain, but I prefer to support, smaller, local businesses with strong ethics like their's. Time and again, the Barkery reaffirmed my decision to choose to shop with them because the amount of courtesy/sample products I get from them as a regular customer more than makes up for that price difference. I leave there feeling like I made really informed choices from a well-educated, caring staff and free products to try. read more

After reading all the rave reviews, my dad and I took our small dog to the Moab Barkery after she became filthy from a long day at Arches. The place is nice, but the woman working was a bit off-putting. It took her a solid two minutes to even acknowledge our presence. Dad asked if they bathe dogs, she said 'No. Well. Yes. But not without appointment, and we're booked three weeks out.' Ooooookay. I asked about the self service bathing station I'd read about on Yelp, and she said 'Well, you can go back there and take a look if you'd like.' We ended up using it because the pup was filthy. The water temperature was difficult to regulate which made me worry about if she were being washed by an employee, and the shampoo and conditioner bottles were mostly water. I might use the place again, as it was $13 to wash our small dog who desperately needed it, and there's no tub in our hotel, but I definitely did not think that it was worth all the five star reviews it received. read more

While hiking the Delicate Arch trail in Arches National Park, Moab, Utah, I passed guy carrying his pooch in a sling made for dogs and I was ecstatic! I had been looking for one to take with me on backpacking trips in case my little JRs get tired. The guy said he had just bought it from a place in downtown Moab called the Barkery. With such a cute name how could I not stop by? While I did not buy the sling, because I knew it would not fit in my luggage back to CA, the woman nicely told me the brand and that I could find it online. She had a ton of great dog toys and recycled/re-purposed items. There is a duvet "dog bed" made from recycled materials that you fill with things like laundry! Makes it very easy to travel with. Wish I had room for this item! I bought a small pouch by the same maker of the duvet and a couple dog-kerchiefs simply because I wanted to support this cute little shop. read more

I can't speak highly enough of the Barkery. As far as the shop goes, they have an excellent selection of nutritious wet, dry and raw dog foods at competitive prices. Great treats as well, including cute self-serve jars of bones, baked treats, jerky, etc. All other pup essentials are also well stocked: collars, leashes, beds, toys, backpacks, bowls, grooming supplies, even a good selection of other health-oriented dog products (anxiety-relieving treats, vitamins, stuff to help with coat growth, etc- and all natural!). And those are just the products! The staff is friendly and so helpful. They always have knowledgeable answers, for questions not only about their products but also about general dog care, diet and training. You can tell that everyone who works here truly loves dogs. The grooming business is located in the back of the shop. If I could give Jessica (the groomer) a thousand stars, I would. She grooms my Pomeranian every 4-5 weeks, and without fail she has always done an excellent job. Pomeranian coats can be tricky, and she knows her stuff. Once, in a pinch, I brought my pup to another groomer in town, who completely shaved him and cut his whiskers (without my permission). Never again! Jessica diligently helped to regrow and rehab his coat while keeping him looking spiffy (a process which took over a year). She is truly an expert at her craft, and I honestly wouldn't trust anyone else. On top of that, she is incredibly patient: my pup gets terrible anxiety at the groomers, and she handles it like the pro she is. Learn from my mistake: the Barkery is the only place in town to get a pupper who has a long, 2 layer, or otherwise finicky coat properly groomed. Another upside is that grooming prices are very reasonable! My pup and I have lived in several big cities in the US, both east and west coast, and the Barkery rivals the very best that those places have to offer. Moab is beyond lucky to have a pet supply shop and groomer of this caliber. read more

Fabulous store. The Moab Barkery has just about everything you could want for your dog or cat. The self serve dog wash is well worth the $10 fee. There is a really nice washing station with a ramp so you can stand upright. The Barkary provides brushes, combs, shampoo, conditioner, towels and a blow dryer. My golden retriever was so clean and fluffy I decided to buy a new collar to celebrate. Dog wash and new collar, $20. What a deal! read more

This place is a true gem and their self service dog wash saved the day on my last trip to Moab when my puppy with an upset tummy made a horrific mess of herself and our car. The dog wash is fully equipped with soaps, brushes, towels, aprons etc. (all needed). Don't wait till you are home to wash that pup, the raised wash basins and all of the amenities make it so easy that it is well worth it. They seemed to have a great selection of dog foods as well. I was going to purchase many items, however, I did not, because of how rude she was to me and my family. Sad because we always go there to get dog treats whenever we are at our Moab home.
