As a returning customer, all I can add to my previous Review is that Mary is efficient, knowledgeable and brings that expertise to the Tax Table. She is not only intellectually capable but she is warm and approachable, breaking things down and answering your questions appropriately! She is polite on contact and she is able to think outside the box. A Big Plus is the latest technology where you can upload your documents, e-sign your documents and pay online. It is a seamless experience. I highly recommend her for your Accounting needs! :) read more

MND Accounting service has been an excellent resource for more than 5 years. MND Accounting staff is knowledgeable, professional, and trustworthy. We are satisfied with value and service and care and professionalism given us over the years! Gold star service! read more

Absolutely horrible experience. I let them know exactly what needed to be done and 3 x it came back incorrect. I literally sent a snapshot on what to do and still done wrong. I can do my own taxes but they needed to add a code that I couldn't do without the software. Don't use them..the are expensive also. Waited 4 months to get the taxes done correctly. Excuse after excuse was given why it wasn't done. It was an easy return! Short form. read more

I'm writing this review 3 years after I cut ties with MND Accounting as I find myself on another call with the IRS regarding my taxes filed by MND back in 2021. They filed my taxes late that year (although did file an extension), despite the fact I'd submitted my info on time and at no point did they tell they'd be filing late until the day taxes were due. But the bigger issue is that they miscalculated them. My refund amount was actually more than $4,000 what MND had. This led to a lot of documentation requests from the IRS, which MND did not assist with - when I reached out for clarify from them, while I was still a client - what I was expected to send the IRS, I was told "send what's in the letter". Responsiveness from MND was slow, and the owner let me know it was because her admin had been on leave. While I found Mary to be personable, the bottom line is my taxes were done incorrectly, they were unhelpful when the IRS needed additional info, and the end result is more than 10 calls to the IRS, totaling over 20 hours across the past three years. I just now received a $10k refund I was owed - more than 2.5 years after it was filed. Would not recommend this firm at all. read more

Super professional. Filed my taxes with them this year and it was a different but positive experience. Everything is done digitally, explained thoroughly in the messages, and a video/conference call for review. As long as you do your part in terms of documentation it is a very smooth process. read more

I was someone who wasn't so knowledgeable when it came to taxes so I was very thankful when I stumbled upon Mary and her team. This is my second time filing with them and Mary's team have been very informative and guide you step by step throughout the process and always kept me up to date. I feel very comfortable and secure with Mary's services, she has gained a long term customer! read more

DO NOT USE THEM. THEY WILL quote you one price for a tax return and then charge way more. Mary charged me triple the quote she gave me in the beginning of the year, and claimed it's because I'm a new customer and because I'm an independent contractor. Both of these are incorrect, I used them for my 2020 taxes and I was a 1099 employee back then too. What she charged for my 2020 taxes were high, but I always try to support local small businesses so I didn't mind. Quoting me around 300 and sending me an invoice for almost 900 dollars is insane. I will never use them again, I will be sure to report them wherever I can and go out of my way to tell people to avoid when looking for accountants. I would give them negative starts if I could! read more

Fast, professional, and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend. Also they are very convenient to work with virtually.

Mary Nicole is a treasure. I was recommended to her by a friend that shined light on how helpful she has been to his family's journey around money management - ethically keeping what you earn with savvy tax planning. MND and I have a plan that I feel really good about. If you're looking for a professional tax planner and advisor that will meet you where you are, and show you how to get where you'd like to be, MND Accounting is it. read more

Awesome. Just awesome. You submit all your forms beforehand and they have it ready to go. Expenses, W2, all of it. Good rates too, $250- not bad. read more

Exceptional customer service, and Mary is very knowledgeable. We've been going to MND for 3 or 4 years now, and Mary has always done an outstanding job advising us on taxes, and preparing our returns. We had some particularly complicated taxes our first year, and she didn't bat an eye. Recently, Mary and her staff even went above and beyond, to help with an emergency situation that came up with a family member. I'd recommend her to anyone, without hesitation. read more

I waited until the last second to file my taxes last year because I didn't know what I was doing with a new business and a new child in my life. Nicole absolutely came to the rescue guiding me through all of the steps and getting me the best refund I have ever seen in my life. I was amazed and comforted by her calm and cool demeanor, which was the exact opposite of my frazzled and confused state. And she did all of this from a distance, by email and phone. The paperwork was done very quickly once I handed everything in. I've never had an accountant before, but I doubt that all accountants are as friendly and approachable as well as competent. I HIGHLY recommend using MND Accounting. read more

I have thoroughly enjoyed working with Mary and the M.N.D. team the last couple of years. Mary doesn't just plug in numbers and files your tax documents, she asks questions to have an understanding of your goals, upcoming changes that could impact the next tax year, and provides advice on how to mitigate tax related risks. Thanks Mary and Tinesha for your responsiveness and guidance! read more

I am a returning customer and I love being provided tax preparation services that are top notch. Each year I day to myself ohh you can do this but each year I'm back to MND, "smile". I will stay in my Lane and let you do the work, which I trust and appreciate, well worth it. Thank you! read more

I've been having Ms Douglas handle my tax returns since I moved here and she has done an excellent job every time. She completes my returns quickly, and accurately and she has a calm and forthright way about her that I find reassuring, particularly with the complicated year we've just endured. read more

MND Accounting is an amazing company! We have used them for our business and personal accounting needs for the past 4 years and could not be more impressed by their knowledge, responsiveness, professionalism and customer service. Utilizing Mary Nicole and her team has proven to be one of the best decisions that we have made as small business owners. I highly recommend them! read more

Once again, I am extremely satisfied with my experience at MND Accounting! This year, for the first time I used the client portal explicitly due to my schedule. Not only was this extremely time efficient, but the level of customer service was outstanding. Communication between MND and myself was fluent due to the easy to use messaging system that the portal provides and I was able to upload documents in seconds allowing me to have my taxes processed quicker. I am beyond satisfied with the service that MND Accounting provides! read more

This was my first year using MND for my taxes, as I am new in the area and had several difficult items in my current filing year. Mary and her team were great. I was able to upload my documents prior to my appointment, which meant my return was essentially done before I walked in the door. Mary and I went over my return line by line, and discussed other write-off opportunities or changes for future tax filings. I was very pleased with my experience and would recommend MND. read more

I know Mary through networking and refer clients to her all the time!

I had an experience that hopefully isn't indicative of the practice, but it was unsettling and has impacted my review negatively. The good - Mary and her staff are friendly. She's finally got office staff and answers the phone. Previously (2013 taxes) I had tried to use her but always got voice mail. I decided to give her another try this year based on a referral from an acquaintance. I am confident my taxes were done correctly w/o issue. Now I recently purchased a home which is why I wanted my taxes professionally done. This was probably a waste of money truth be told. But that's my fault, not Mary's. The bad - the price. She's pretty high I think. I've had my taxes professionally done by an Accountant in the Chicagoland area for years (thanks to many relocations for work) and never have I had to pay this much. Maybe she's a fair price for Charlotte, I dunno. Here's the really bad, and why I can not give her five stars. She spammed my e-mail, big time. The day after my visit I received the same thank you e-mail no less than 70+ times in the span of three hours. I sent an e-mail informing them of the issue after the first waive of spam, but continued to receive the e-mail blast for several more hours. I finally called to inform them something was up. They assure me no data was breeched, and that it was an e-mail glitch, but I'm not so sure. I guess time will only tell. After my call, I did receive a personal follow up e-mail from Mary. The whole experience just left me sour b/c again - she's privy to all of my records and who knows if there was an actual security breech. Just unprofessional and honestly I was a little peeved that all I received was an follow up e-mail. I would have expected some sort of compensation for the inconvenience. Especially since she spent tops 25 minutes on my taxes and I still paid her the full $250. Don't know if I'll be back. Also the parking situation is weird. Not a game changer, but I felt as if my car wasn't totally safe parking on the side street b/c it was right in front of an abandoned home that was undergoing repair/ construction. read more

This is my first time hiring an accountant to do my taxes and I was very pleased. There was an appointment misunderstanding due to my error and they were accommodating and fit me in to avoid me having to leave work early again the next day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. I will return next year and highly recommend their services. read more

This is my 2nd year using MND Accounting and I am very impressed. I love the personal attention that you do not get with the big box businesses. I work in the service industry, so I am all about customer service and this exceeded my expectations. I highly advise the use of MND, you do not have to reside in the same state (Thank God for the internet) which is also a plus. I will recommend this business, you will not be disappointed. read more

If you are looking for an accountant or someone to do your daunting tax preparations at the being of the year, look no farther. MND accounting make your life stress free and easy. All you have to do is sent in the files and they have everything ready for you to sign when you go in. I had an accountant before MND, but let me tell you, not one like this. Mary is personable and really is working for your benefit. I absolute got the best tax return that I have gotten during all of my years of working, because she covers all of the bases in your life. i.e. My previous accountant never asked about child care but she did and we were able to file for the money that we pay out in child care. So overall, if you need help with your money she is the one to call. read more

Absolutely loved Mary Douglas and her staff. She was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. Also, very laid back and helped me understand the process and all of my options very clearly. Mary and her team are honest business people and they actually advised me to go with the less expensive package, which is refreshing in an environment where you can sometimes feel like advice is sales-driven, rather than genuine. Overall an excellent and refreshing experience. I will definitely be using them again. Sean P. read more

Absolutely wonderful and efficient. I always disliked going to chain establishments for my taxes and leave feeling something was not done right. Mary was very knowledgable answered my questions and if I was not understanding something she took the time to explain it to me. Could not be more satisfied with the services. read more

Mary is a fantastic professional, really good at what she does. She's very prompt to respond either by email or phone, but especially email. I was impressed by their portal system and that fact that we could easily upload and download documents. We never had to go in in person, although we certainly had the option to. But for us it was so much more convenient to just do it all remotely. We worked from home in multiple states with multiple companies and levels of employment and she knew all the right questions to ask to get us the best return for a very reasonable price. I wish we weren't moving away and that we could use her again next year. Thanks, Mary! read more

She is knowledgeable, trustworthy, comforting. Mary simplifies complex tax laws that a everyday person can understand. I am a new resident of North Carolina and coming from Florida I was not sure how to proceed with filing State Taxes (we don't file those in Florida). I found MND Acounting through Thumbtack and I am so glad I did. Mary explained how the taxes worked here and took her time. I was with her over an hour. Also I get an annuity because I am retired so that's also a different situation that I was in. Also I believe her prices are very reasonable, at least compared to South Florida accountants. I am very happy with Mary and will definitely come back next year. read more

My husband and I hired Mary to help us with our taxes this year. We had several small issues that made our taxes more complex than normal. Mary was very friendly, professional, and most importantly, she was very good at her job. We left with a much higher refund than we would likely have gotten had we done our taxes on our own, because we were not sure if we could claim certain items. She also charged us a very reasonable rate for the service. I would highly recommend her, and we plan on going back again next year. read more
