The US embassy in Toronto was closed and we could not schedule an appointment with the embassy in Ottawa before the loan deadline. California state does not recognize remote/e-sign notarizations. We exhausted all other options. Crossing the border into Buffalo in the midst of a pandemic and border closure was very risky, but it was our last and only hope. I immediately reached out to Edward who filed my taxes that year and he stated that he would get in touch with his manager because he made a mistake on my return. After going back and forth with him for a week I finally heard from his manager Patty today stating that basically its my problem. I even informed her that Edward previously stated on the phone that he realized he made the mistake and he told me that the company would cover it under their Standard policy. Patty didn't care though and said they are not responsible. I mean why did I pay the $160 to have a tax professional file my taxes if they aren't going to do it right? After this experience I will never be going back to HR Block and I expect for them to at least give me a refund for the fees I paid for them to do my taxes since they clearly didn't do it right.

I had a lot of trouble getting through to him because he always had appointments and I was made to feel like people who came into office had more priority! I was a customer paying the same money! Stacy took my call and was very nasty to me on the phone and she actually hung up on me! Once they got my money they didn't even care anymore! I eventually got to talk with Heidi the office manager of 3 of their locations and she told me she was mailing a copy of my return but she lied and I never received it! I am never going to use them again and I strongly recommend that you don't either! Their staff is incompetent and they are rude and nasty people once they get your money! Their boss Heidi promotes a culture of disrespect and rudeness to customers!!!
