I think there's a truck there with them most Wednesday nights... I've been waiting for a chance to try these guys. It was one of the trucks high on my want list. Tonight I swept the middle row of their menu. Spicy pork (comes with rice and kimchi), a chicken bulgogi sandwich, and three egg rolls. $24 total before tip. I LOVED the spicy pork... I threw the pork, the rice, and the kimchi altogether almost immediately. This should be the new holy trinity. The egg rolls were very good. The wrap had a nice crunch and the filling tasted great. Cooked perfectly. The chicken bulgogi sandwich... It was okay. It was really overshadowed by the other two items. The chicken was tender and well cooked. The flavors popped. The roll reminded me of a lot of banh mi rolls I've had in the past. I really enjoyed the roll... Kind of like the exterior of the egg rolls it brought a change of texture to the party after the spicy pork. The staff of this truck was amazing to deal with. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood. The flow went well from ordering to picking up. The food was well packaged. The wait wasn't long at all. I'm glad I was finally able to catch up with this crew. I'll be watching the Sook's Korean Kitchen and Ashworth Snow's Facebook pages. Maybe sweep another row of menu items. And if want a spectacular cold treat hit up Ashworth Snow for a Dreamsicle stuffed with vanilla ice cream... You can thank me later. https://www.facebook.com/Sooks-Korean-Kitchen-229258970936968/ https://m.facebook.com/ashworthsnow/

We tried every side today because my in laws were visiting who havent had much Korean food and were not sure what they would like. And a little of each sauce. The black garlic was my fav but its very thick so not a great texture for everyone; not overwhelmingly garlic. The lava egg was delicious, very spicy especially with the little red pepper slices. I eat a lot of spicy food and it still gave me hiccups, but not so spicy I was sweating or tearing up. A healthy pang of spice but not a complex flavor and it disappears pretty quick from the mouth. The double dunk everyone liked very good texture good mix of sweet and spicy. The sweet butter one we got the kids was good not spicy at all but extra sticky. I liked it but preferred the double dunk. The asian bbq I really disliked but everyone else liked it; it was very strong saltiness and sweet. MiL ordered the pork ribs which were fine, a little tough but good flavor. The kids wanted fries so we added some on but they tasted a little stale and the spice mix on them wasnt popular they were barely eaten. The cucumber kimchi is just the cabbage with cucumber added! We got both and I was like oop. It was a little dry and not very strong to me. The sweet potato was disgusting nobody liked it. VERY strong salty muso flavor overpowering, very soft mushy sweet potato. We threw it out. The egg salad the kids loved and it was a good flavor, pretty crowded pleasing. LOVED the daikon perfect flavor texture etc. A nice snap just a bit sour. The mac was popular with the kids, I did not like the extra thick cheesy sauce personally. LOVED the spinach side dish what a surprise! Very refreshing and well cooked, a bit of sourness but not too much.

With time running out on a Sunday evening, we knew we wanted sushi and Akebono was still open so we decided might as well give it a shot. This was quite possibly the best dining experience I've ever had the opportunity to enjoy. Our server Nick picked up on the date night vibes immediately and knew exactly what to do. Curating the entire meal for us, every single bite he brought to our table was everything we wanted and more, from the tempura shiso leaf hamachi serrano to the torched tuna nigiri as the final bite. One of a kind conversation and etiquette through the entire service, exceptional food produces by the chefs, and the corner table on the patio made for a date night we won't soon forget. The food was fresh and tasty. The portions were very generous. We loved or classic maki rolls and sampled some of their very creative specialty rolls. Wow, every bite was de-lish. We try one new restaurant each month just to keep things fresh, so this time I suggested Fawn's. I'm really glad we did. I had heard so many great things about the food so I was excited to try it. When I saw the menu, though, I was a little nervous because they serve Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai and Laotian food. In my experience, restaurants that try to serve all kinds of Asian food rarely do one or all of them well. I ordered Pad Thai and my husband got Evil Jungle Prince. I was very pleased. It was the best Pad Thai I've ever eaten. It was SO good! My husband loved his dish, too. It had chicken and vegetables with a spicy sauce made with red curry and coconut milk. The prices were very reasonable and the portions were huge. We each got two meals out of our dinners. I love it when that happens. The place isn't fancy. It's in a small strip mall and doesn't look like much from the outside. Inside it's very clean and well-kept. There's not much for ambience besides two flat screen TVs. It doesn't matter because it's the food that really stands out. The service was excellent, too. My husband had his iced tea refilled twice without even asking. Great affordable food and good service. What more can you ask for? If you love Asian food, give them a try. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes.
