First thing is the kiosk that asks you a few questions about why you are visiting today, then gives you a printout with a number. There were two of us here to see someone for different reasons so two tickets. We were 9 numbers down and sat in comfortable chairs looking at a big screen that showed which numbers were being served. Each time a new number was up they announced it over the intercom and with the window you are to report to. In order to get to your interviewer you open a door and walk into a hallway and seek out your cubicle which has two chairs and a plexiglass divider between you and the staff person. I like this arrangement because you have total privacy from the room full of people waiting and some semi-privacy from the few people around you. I was called approximately :15 minutes after getting my number and my wife was only a couple minutes after that. We both were getting replacement social security cards plus I had a short interview to do for my son. We both were completed in under :10 minutes after interviewing with very professional and cordial people. Overall I was very happy with.the whole experience from beginning to end. This is absolutely my choice for a social security office even though they try to get me to go way downtown Memphis, nope I am going across state lines to a closer, less crowded and more pleasant outpost. It was such an experience to see it go from one staple in the community to now what it is. There are many moving parts at this location including a library, police precinct, walking trail, skate park, and more. I was eager to give the trial a go and I must say it was a very serene experience. From hearing the waves from the lake to watching skaters skate (wait that rhymed, lol), I enjoyed my time out there. It also feels secure knowing that there is a police precinct there. So, walkers and visiter can feel safe at all times. I haven't gotten a chance to go in the library yet, but what I have seen so far....I love it!

What I love the most about it is that it's really close to my house and, when I can't get to our dog park, I can just head over to walk the puppy and let him get some of his energy out. Due to its location, it's a central point for me to meet up with my mom, nephew, and niece for us to walk and bond. The library is beautiful and there is a local precinct at the site. I'm glad that it's open and accessible for me to start getting back in shape. My schedule is so hectic, but this is close enough and short enough that I can get in some steps and get back home to work.

We know this because you will hear the same message on each one of them even using the same wording...do they really think we are that stupid? Our brave officers deserve respect, remember they are people just like you and me except they run to the fire instead of away from it. Stop and think. Why has Memphis been short of police for so many years? Why are they held back from doing the job they are trained to do and to do it with force. They are not backed up by the powers that be and some of the people are not raising their children to respect police or teachers, no one. This is no favor to their own children nor their communities. Wake up and realize we need our police and our military. They are providing for us all doing a dangerous job that most of us couldn't do for a single day without falling apart at the seams. Their children's section is especially really nice with lots of fun activities/story times, a huge selection of books, a reading house and a play area. The only reason they get 4 stars is because the front desk staff / librarians at the front are pretty grumpy or rude most times I visit. Visitors who come to the library also vary greatly in friendliness and I've lately encountered many rude patrons.

My son an I was enroute to church still puzzled on how we were going to get the pool filled with water and heard siren in a distance, my son said I am going to ask the fireman at the Fire station if they would fill our pool, he did just that . Without any hesitation and asking if we were in the district they sent there best out to fill our pool so we do Gods work as planned. To some this may seem small or mediocre but to us it was a big deal, Thanking God over an over we will be forever appreciate and love the kindness that was bestowed upon us ,True Way Church of Jesus Christ 2630 Park ave Memphis Tennessee 38114 in the Heart of Orange Mound.
