Meanwhile, he sent my car to the repair shop at his own cost until the problem was 100% solved, and now the car is fine. I am not sure he made a lot of money on my car! I followed up with a detailed email to the service manager requesting diagnostics -- but received no response at all. I then took the vehicle to another Toyota dealership, where they performed a throttle body and EFI system cleaning. The issue was immediately resolved, and fuel economy returned to normal -- confirming there was a clear and demonstrable cause. While I'm still happy with my RAV4 and plan to stick with Toyota, I've lost confidence in Mississauga Toyota's service support and will be purchasing my next vehicle from a different dealership.
