Yesterday, my daughter got her highlights done at a previous salon. My whole family were horrified because she looked like she was 60 years old. The previous hairstylist over bleached my daughter's to a disgusting white gray blue highlights. My daughter just wanted regular medium yellow highlights, very standard stuff. I came here after reading such positive reviews about the owner's work and customer service but wow.. was I in for a totally different experience. I called ahead of time to ask about magic straight perm and was informed she could only quote me in person; understandably so. So, I went in a few hours after speaking with the owner on the phone. She quoted me fairly and I accepted. But shortly after, she talked very negatively about my hair. Her comments included that my hair was severely damaged and asked me if I liked my hair cut "like that" nodding to my newly grown in baby hairs (I'm a few months postpartum). I finally informed her that I'm newly postpartum. When she was prepping for the perm, she told me to wash my hair. And pointed me in the direction in which I should go. She told me to take off my glasses, so I walked without them and held them while I sat in the chair. As I was getting situated, she yelled at me as I was navigating the hair wash chair, "move forward!" Several times, aggressively, loudly, when honestly from my perspective it was scooting backward for one, but also I couldn't see without my glasses. It was at this point I was seriously considering just getting up and leaving but she had already trimmed my hair. I'm 3 days post-perm and results look fine, but honestly given my treatment by the owner I will not return. I FINALLY FOUND MY HAIR PLACE!!! I have been searching forever for someone who knows how to cut my textured hair with actual layers, movement, and shape...not just the straight across haircut I feel like I got when I was 5. I've tried several places closer to home, but I just wasn't getting the cut I wanted. Michelle was amazing. The minute she pulled out those fancy texturizing/razor-style scissors and started working on my ends, I thought, YESSSS!!! She knows what she's doing! She gave my hair the layers, texture, and movement I had been looking for. I also got Japanese hair straightening, which took about four hours. If you have hair that normally requires blow drying AND straightening every time you wash it, you know the struggle. This treatment is such a time saver! Now I can wash my hair, dry it and BOOM...hair is ready to go. The service was great from beginning to end. Michelle was friendly, took her time with my hair, and I never felt rushed even though I was there for several hours. The pricing was also very reasonable, especially considering how much time and work went into my hair. WOW what a disappointment! I made an appointment with Michelle for a dry cut, specifically, with layers, and when I spoke to her, she said that was OK. My partner and I were in much need of a haircut and used Yelp to find this salon. We decided to do a walk-in. When arriving, the salon had a lot of clients and two people cutting hair (Michelle (owner) and a barber). Because we were only receiving a haircut, we were seated within 15-20 mins, which isn't bad considering the amount of people in the shop. The interior decor was eye catching: very modern, sleek, and lots of great lighting to make the place look bright and clean. Love the indoor plants and the whole shop set-up. For my experience, Michelle is an amazing hair expert. She was very kind. She examined my hair and noted the problems that I had and suggested I receive a certain hair length along with a haircut that she believed would look good on me. She guessed correctly how long I had it growing too! After the haircut, she made sure to let me know how often I need to maintain my hair and suggested the specific shampoo/conditioner that I should purchase from the Matrix line (the shop sells these products). I went to get my hair done yesterday and I'm so impressed with how it turned out! I came in a day prior to get a quote from Michelle (the owner) to see if she would be able to dye my hair a milk tea brown color. Since I had half virgin black hair on the top and half dark brown at the ends from the previous salon I went to, she was honest and told me that milk tea brown wouldn't be realistic for me and suggested that I went ash brown/milk tea mocha color (which I ended up liking and glad that I went a little darker). The appointment took around 5 hours, but it was so worth it! She's very careful and precise with her work and I'm so glad I was able to get my hair done by her. Things to consider before your appointment: - I would suggest come in a day prior if you are thinking about getting your hair done so Michelle can examine your hair and determine what's best for you. - Hair dye can take hours, eat beforehand, but there's also complementary snacks and drinks provided as well! - They accept Venmo, Zelle, Cash, and Apple Pay only, so be sure to have your payment ready - The hair washing station is also a massage chair too (my favorite part throughout the entire appointment) Overall, I had an amazing experience. Went there after I got a really bad hair cut from Studio 415 (see my other review). This place is inside of an Asian super market building. I specifically booked Michelle due to overwhelming great reviews about her. She went above and beyond explaining to me what the problem was and took pictures of the messed up "holes", slip ends and breakage from the sloppy razor chopping I got from Studio 415's hair stylist. She really took her time to fix my bad hair cut to the best she could and also made it easy for me to style at home. The price was reasonable and the place is clean and trendy. The only thing that I would mention is that the booking system can be confusing since I saw some negative reviews stating that the hair stylist was double or triple booked. I booked a 9 am appointment online and found out that the owner does not start working until 9:30 am. I do think it's because the online booking system shows incorrect openings. Hopefully they can get that fixed. Also, they only take Venmo, Zelle, or cash which doesn't bother me at all, but I did see a negative review about it. Overall, I do think the owner Michelle is an amazing hair stylist if you have challenging hair issues, she's very skillful and will try her best to make it look good. I came in for a men's haircut near closing time as Michelle was working with another client who was bleaching their hair. She gave me notice that she would need to help with the that process alongside another stylist, but that she would still be able to cut my hair in a timely manner. Michelle is absolutely wonderful. She is so skilled, kind, and all around such a lovely person. I came in on a Monday for a cut and color wanting to go shorter + chocolate brown. The last time I dyed my hair was 2 years ago so it was very grown out. I showed her a picture and she got straight to work. After washing, I noticed that my hair came out a little more red than I wanted but I didn't mention it in the moment. After I went home, I noticed it was more red than I wanted. It was still a gorgeous color, but just didn't fit my skin tone that well. I had read the reviews and went online to book an appt with Michelle. When I got there it appears they don't check their online appts as she didn't have availability so I was put with another stylist. He did what I thought was an okay job. When it was over I was only really able to access the front which looked okay. When I get home I realized there was a whole section of hair that he had missed. I had to cut it myself as I got 5 inches off and now had a rat tail. After the weekend of styling it I also realized the back is completely choppy, uneven and not at all layered, people let me know the bottom is not even. I'm so disappointed in trying a new place and now will have to go to another salon to pay for a second hair cut this week to get it fixed. Bummed at the whole experience. read more

Honestly Beautiful AND Healthy. After going to them....my hair is almost to my shoulders now and I look like a Christmas tree and it's crazy frizzy. It was a male stylist that did the "trim" He YANKED at my wavy/curly hair towards the end and did a dry cut, which is typical for curly hair but he assured me he knew how to do it. Cost was never an issue, for a wash. I cried at the salon after seeing how uneven and short HE had cut it. They lied and offered a $10 dollar discount, but still charged me $35. NEVER COME HERE. THEY DO NOT CARE! EDIT: After reading other reviews I think I might have been racially profiled. They sat me for a 15-20 min hair cut, after I told them to take their time.
