Ladies and Gents, look no further than MKL Images!! Mary was the first vendor we hired and we couldn't be more pleased! From the very first meeting at a local coffee shop, I knew she'd be a good fit as our wedding photographer. Mary's friendly personality put me at ease instantly and her professional manner sealed the deal for me that same day. For the high quality of her work, she's a steal! We booked a 1 hr engagement session and 7 hours of shoot time for our wedding day. The engagement sesh was great because the three of us got a feel for what the wedding day would be like. I'm the type of person that freezes up and thinks too hard about how terrible I'm going to look in the photo while said photo is being taken and my then fiancé obviously had no posing for the pic experience but Mary effortlessly made us comfortable with her fun and bubbly attitude. We giggled and laughed and she hyped us up the whole time behind the camera. It was a fun afternoon! Leading up to the wedding, Mary sent some very insightful emails to help streamline the photo process for the day of. There were great tips and suggestions that I found super helpful. The day of the wedding, she was right on time at the condo the girls and I were getting ready at. Her assistant went to where the guys were and photographed them getting ready as well (they turned out great!). Getting my gals to stay together and on point during the pre-ceremony pics was a bit like herding cats with all the excitement and personalities. Mary stayed friendly but firm so we'd be on schedule (which I was so thankful for as my mind was at max capacity due to bride brain). At the ceremony and reception, I honestly don't even remember seeing her and her assistant except for when we did our after ceremony/reception pics of course. Again, lots of people and chatter but Mary easily directed everyone to ensure we got some great shots. I think a week or so after the wedding, we got several sneak peek photos which was so exciting! Right around 4 weeks, we received a link that gave us over 700 photos!! I absolutely loved that she and her assistant got so many candid photos of our guests, our wedding party and of course, me and and hubs. The pictures are gorgeous, the lighting is unbelievable and the memories forever captured are timeless. There are SO many fantastic photos that I wanted to share here to prod you to click that button to contact her but since the yelp app isn't syncing well with my photos, these are the only ones I could attach to the review. I am a tough critic, and not a huge fan of taking pictures because I am uncomfortable in front of a camera. Mary is a true artist, and made me feel so relaxed. My fiance and I had our engagement pictures done with Mary from MKL images in August 2015. Our situation was a little different from most and Mary was very helpful, patient, and understanding through the entire process!! My fiance is in the Navy and had a port visit in San Diego in August. I flew out to San Diego from Maryland to meet him and was only out there for a week before I had to return home. We knew that we would have a very short window to get our pictures done and that there was a high probability that he may have to work during my time out in San Diego. I had to switch dates a couple times and Mary was SO accommodating. Knowing we had a short window she even kept two days open for us in case something should come up! I was a little nervous to fly across the country and get pictures taken, but Mary made it so easy. She provided detailed information and answered all my questions graciously. Most of the time I had a response within an hour of sending her a question (and there were many!). She made me feel very comfortable and ready to get our pictures taken. The day of our pictures my fiancé and I were very excited, but also had no idea what we were doing. I had provided Mary with a Pinterest page of ideas that she kept with her throughout the shoot to help guide us and ensure that all the pictures we wanted to take had been done. For the most part though we left the poses up to her and her artistic ability! She made us feel very comfortable and was very personable with us. She even took the time to get to know our story and share hers with us. We had so much fun taking our pictures that the session flew by! We didn't want it to end! Throughout the session it was easy to tell how passionate Mary is about photography. She got so excited over some of the shots and even when we were all done and walking back to our cars if she saw a scene she liked, she had us get out there and take more pictures! Some of these ended up among our favorite shots! We started taking pictures at Joe's Crab Shack and walked towards the Oceanside beach where we took pictures with the sunset in the background. The pictures came out beautiful and we have received many compliments on them! Mary did a sneak peak of our pictures within a few days of our session and had the rest of them to us in digital form within a week or so! It was much faster than we expected! The entire session was so much fun and a great memory that my fiancé and I share and hold dear. Mary is very personable, comforting, and fun! We couldn't have asked for anything more. She is someone you can trust and that you want to continue to be friends with after the session. Mary even gave us both a hug to say goodbye! As neither of us are from California, we were sad to say goodbye and almost wish we were getting married in California so that we could have Mary at our wedding!!
