He went on…read morethe roof with me to measure and give me an estimate, after he examined the roof he tolled me there were 2 layers of shingles to remove. He gave us the lowest bid as there was another roofers that gave us bids and I was concern about his low bid. I tolled Davve I wanted timberline life line shingles and he tolled me that's all he uses. After signing the contract and the job was about to begin Dave said he needed another 1k as there were 3 layers to remove now. Not being happy about this discovery after he had already examined it before the contract, we agreed as we only had a week left to get a new roof on or the insurance company was going to drop the insurance on the house and we were still saving 2k from the next big we got. I come home on the 20th of February at 3:30 to discover Dave was hed started the job and was about 80 percent finished but he had tolled me that it was to cold that day to do the roof so I was surprised that he was there doing the job. I noticed the bundles on shingles on the ground said KIO Cambridge shingles, I went over to Dave and said these are not Timberline Lifetime shingles, he said they are the same stuff and walked away from me, at that point I new i was being robber by Dave and the Dilollo Brothers Roofing. Cambridge shingles cost 20 a bundle and Timberline are 35 a bundle, so 15 times 45 bundles is 675 dollars Dave just stole from me. And Cambridge shingles are a poor quality shingles. If I didn't come home and see the bundle of shingles I would have always thought the shingles on my roof were timberline shingles.I wonder how many people he has don't this over the 30 years he claims to be in business for. The workmanship was also poor. He used old aluminum pices on the lower roof were the shingles run up and meet the outside wall then put nails in the aluminum and throw the roof creating holes that will leak over time. The back roof he didn't put and aluminum to transition from roof to outside wall and it looks like crap and exposing holes in the build were water can get in. He didn't rape the weather guard over the roof eves before the gutters went up and now all the fascia boards are exposed to the weather. The new gutters were installed so low from the roof edge that we can't put gutter guards on. This has been a bad dream, a contractor from hell. I hope this review will prevent another person from being ripped off and getting a bad roofing job. Very unhappy with The Dilollo Brothers roofing. There are a lot of good honest roofer out there and Dilollo Brothers isn't one of them. You have been warned.

It turns out Raffel and crew incorrectly installed some vinyl siding panels. No space was left between some windows and panels and nails were not correctly fastened. In fact, one piece of siding wasn't even nailed!!!! Totally insane. On top of it all, they didn't flash my chimney. There are far too many roofing and siding people who won't cut corners like Raffel did. They are extremely poor value, dishonest and not trustworthy. I happened to catch their crooked work.

Morris Renovations was referred to me and they came out immediately. I have had other roofing companies come out and this is the first time that a thorough check was done and I got real answers. In the past, I was told "you need a new roof" and I knew I had about 5 yrs left on the roof, I have paid for "patch jobs" and still I knew something was wrong because I can see the plastic buckling on one section of my wall that had been repairs before. Luis came out from Morris Renovations and he found active leaks that I didn't even know about and no one else saw. He also saw that instead of the leak I knew I had being properly fixed, tar was placed over the leak. When he came back to do the repairs he took pictures. There was a hole in the wood under the shingles; a large hole. So the "tar" which should never have been used, actually did nothing. We had snow the next day and then pounding rain on 1/9/24 and I was not worried about water dripping on me as I slept! Great, thorough, honest work.

Morris Renovations kept blaming the delay on the factory and on covid. I find it very hard to believe because this was late 2021, the first half of 2022 when covid wasn't that big of a deal anymore. Also, I picked Marvin windows which are made in the US using Canadian lumber. Regardless, during those 8 months, it was incredibly tough to get in touch with anyone from Marvin who could provide me an update. My "project manager" Roman was nowhere to be found and would not return my calls. The guy who answers the phone just said he didn't know anything. For "security reasons" he would not provide me a direct number for Roman so I basically had no way to reach my supposed "project manager". You can't just take a 7K deposit and go MIA. Anyway, I was just about to lose all hope, when, miraculously, after 8 months, my windows were finally ready. On the day of installation, however, it turned out that one of my windows had been "misplaced" and no one could tell me where it was or when I could get it. 2 weeks later, they "found" my window. We set up a new install date, only to get it rescheduled with less than 24h notice. I didn't even get an apology. I'm still waiting on that missing window.... Now, as to the installation itself, it was far from top-notch workmanship. I had to go around and ask the guys to add more insulation foam in spots they had missed. They scratched and damaged the new windows in a couple of places, and they broke the molding on the interior so now I have to get that replaced too. Their caulking looks like a 2-year-old did it. To top it all off, they almost yelled at me for picking a big bow window with fixed panes because it is harder to install without specialized equipment that Morris does not have.All in all, my experience with Morris Renovations was extremely disappointing. After spending the equivalent of a new car, I was expecting to at least get quality to match the price. Sadly, all Morris has to offer is good salespeople. Once you've signed on the dotted line, you will get nothing but frustration and disappointment. Learn from my mistake and find a better contractor. UPDATE: I finally got my missing window. After reading my original review, the guys really tried their very best this time. Their best is just not good enough, unfortunately. They didn't use house wrap to prevent water intrusion. They didn't shim any of my windows. They somehow managed to over-tighten some screws and had nails popping out on the finished side of a 10K bow window. Not to mention all the scratches and dents they managed to put in. Their caulking is still deplorable. And they should not be allowed to touch moulding or any finished carpentry. I am mostly mad at myself because instead of going with the contractors I know, I decided to spend a little more for "professional window installers" thinking they would actually know what they are doing. I know how hard it is to find good contractors. I really hope this review helps prevent people from doing the same mistakes I did.

With the heavy rains that we had during the summer of 2021, we desperately needed to have half of our leaky roof fixed ASAP.  While driving through the next town, I stopped to see the work that Palta Construction was doing on another very old house and was very impressed with the care that they showed. I asked the owner Luis Palta to stop by and give me an estimate. He showed up when he said he would ( unlike 2 other roofers who did not). He gave me what I know was a very fair price to replace all of the wood roofing boards in our 85 year old house, some of which were rotten and to put down new plywood and new shingles and flashed the chimney correctly something that had not been done well previously. He worked hard to match the color of the old shingles ( which he did quite well as our original color was no longer made) and got the whole job done when he said he would, he and his guys cleaned up properly and inspected the rest of the roof quite closely. He and his guys were a pleasure to work with. They are a group of very nice and VERY hard-working young men who really wanted to do a great job. Which they did.
