I walk in and I have a junior stylist not even on their website who does a terrible job and is visibly uncomfortable by curly hair the entire time (also upon looking her up online after... was still practising on straight haired dolls only a few months prior). I sent a message to manager the next day to talk through what happened - and the manager begins to get hostile and tell me her stylist was sad i was unhappy ... does not offer to fix it. After some back and forth agrees to a refund, then has her entire staff block me off of instagram. Incredibly unprofessional.

A BUTCHER CUT BY ALLAN PARSS…read more If you value your hair, stay far away. I went in for a simple trim and left with what is, without question, the worst haircut of my life. Allan aggressively razored my hair, removed an unbelievable amount of density, and created short, choppy layers that I never asked for. Throughout the appointment my hair was positioned in a way that prevented me from seeing what was actually being done until it was too late. Now, over 8 weeks later, my hair is still a disaster. The ends are frayed, shredded, and breaking. It genuinely looks as though a weed whacker was taken to it. My hair had thickness, length, and health before this appointment. Now it looks damaged, uneven, and lifeless. Yes, he refunded the haircut. But a refund does not give me my hair back. I would have gladly paid thousands of dollars to avoid this experience altogether. What makes this even worse is what happened afterward. When I left an honest review describing my experience, Allan attempted to pressure me into removing it. After I repeatedly requested that no video of me be posted, a video was uploaded anyway. Instead of showing any understanding for the damage caused, I received emails telling me I should be happy with the result. Imagine being told to be grateful after your hair has been completely destroyed. I have never written a review like this before. In fact, I rarely leave reviews at all. But I wake up every day frustrated and upset over what happened to my hair. Unless I spend significant time styling it, it looks terrible. If this review prevents even one person from experiencing what I did, then it is worth writing. I asked for a trim. What I received was a butchered, over-razored, mullet-like haircut that removed years of growth and density in a single appointment. Without question, the biggest hair regret of my life. I left a before photo and several after photos so people can judge for themselves. You can clearly see how badly my hair was butchered. Weeks later, every stylist who gives me a blowout asks why I have so many choppy, uneven pieces throughout my hair. I explain that Allan Parss aggressively razored my hair, leaving it uneven and difficult to work with. My hair is now so inconsistent in length that styling it has become a challenge. I went in for a simple trim with long layers and left with what can only be described as a mullet. The excessive razor cutting created short, disconnected pieces throughout my hair that will likely take a year or more to fully grow out. Imagine getting your hair cut short and it being unhealthy months later because a stylists razored the life out of your hair. I always get asked for beauty advice and I always say avoid this place to anyone I know. Added photos of the state of my hair about 3 months after Allan's hack job. Please don't let this man touch your hair.

Wow, Liz and Sumi certainly worked their magic on my hair. My appointment started out with a thorough consultation to understand my hair type, my face type and how I style my hair on a daily basis. Then, we proceeded to a trim to the side of my head and at the back of my head. Sumi asked lots of great questions and walked through every step of the process to make sure I was aware of the procedures and communicated what was going on, which I really did appreciate. Then, we proceeded to the application of the solution which was pretty cool as it was 3-person teamwork project to apply solution while putting my hair into curls. It was actually a fun experience. The final reveal of my hair was amazing. I was in awe of how my dull and boring thick black horn could look naturally shaped with the curls. The style was clean and smart and the staff provided helpful tips to ensure that I can maintain my look for a long-term basis. This review is VERY overdue as I went to this salon back on April 8th 2015. When I saw their lack of reviews on here I just needed to write one! I was looking for a last minute appointment for that date, after work and I knew it was a long shot. I wanted something less expensive and wanted to try a new salon. I looked for some groupon-type deals online but could not find any with availability on that day... until I found a great Living Social deal for Cheveux (Wash, Haircut. Full Color, Scalp Massage & Style for $77)! They were able to book me in right away with no problems! I ended up arriving a bit late due to TTC problems, so I waited awhile but that was my own fault. I was certainly happy that my stylist was ok with taking me after her current client! Once my appointment started my stylist (Ashley) made me feel so comfortable and was extremely attentive. I could tell she really wanted me to leave with the hair style and colour I wanted. The fact that I was using a coupon did not change my experience or her attitude towards me. Besides her work on my hair, Ashley was an incredible person to meet. She was so positive and friendly and she shared great tips about the city and life in general! I felt like I left with a new friend! I am glad I waited to write this review because I can now say that over 2 months later my hair colour (red) has only faded a bit, and much less than any other time I have dyed it red. As well, I was having issue with dry hair and scalp and have since been using the Perfect Hair Day that Ashley recommended. There is a huge difference in both my hair and scalp and it is nice to know that the product actually did what she said it would! I also got a nice little "after 5:00" treat while my hair colour was processing, very unexpected and a nice touch to make my appointment even more relaxing. I usually look for a deal online when I need to get my hair done and I often try new salons, but after my experience at Cheveux (Darren Kwik) I won't be going anywhere else! This place (and Ashley) are worth the full cost. This is hands down the best experience I have had at a salon! See you once my roots grow in, Ashley! :)

The bangs are poorly done -- you can clearly see the tracks, and they are not even straight. This is not a matter of personal preference or "being used to closures," as the stylist claimed when I expressed that I was unhappy. The issue is poor technique. My hair was butchered, and this was very expensive hair. I spent the entire day in the salon, only to realize how bad it looked once everything was finished. When I insisted that I was not satisfied, the manager's response was that I would need to pay to have it removed and then pay again to have it redone with a closure -- even though the closure was never the issue. I now have a very important event next week and have to go to another salon and pay again just to fix or remove this work. I have never felt so disappointed or upset leaving a salon before.
