As you walk in to the right, there's some small wall humidors, pipe tobacco, various torches, cutters, etc. straight ahead is a few small smoking rooms, few TVs (one to a room, which I like), to the left is the counter and a small walk in humidor. The owner/operator is a pleasant chap and knows his way around cigars. He has a good selection of sticks that'll keep you busy for more than a few smoking sessions if you tried something new every time. I think the smoking rooms could use a few more ashtrays, cutters and lighters but I usually went during the day so maybe he puts more out during peak times. Upstairs is the members only section. There's a nonmembers cutting fee to smoke in the lounge. Not a fan of those in general but Joplin isn't exactly a high volume city so it's understandable. I will for sure return when I'm back in Joplin. Loved the places and loved chopping it up with the locals when I stopped by.

I have visited this place several times now and always been impressed... until tonight…read more It was a Saturday night. It was 8pm, 2 hours before closing and an hour before the kitchen closed. We were promptly greeted and seated as always. We were then immediately greeted by the server, Austin, who made it very clear his mission was to get us in and out promptly. He immediately asks if we knew what we wanted to drink. Mind you we literally just sat down. I told him we would look at the menu but we'd like some bread and oil to start with. He came back for our drink order after just a minute or two and then immediately asked for our food order. Mind you we haven't even hit the 5-6 min mark yet. It was quite clear we were being rushed. So we hurried and gave him our food order. But because I was already perturbed, no drinks were ordered. Now mind you I almost always get a bottle or two of wine. (one of the main reasons we go there is the wine selection) Our server Austin returned after about five minutes with our food. Getting our food so quickly was a surprise. However, still no bread and oil so I reminded him. Which he admitted he forgot. The food was lukewarm at best and had no flavor. We waited for a few minutes for Austin to return so we could ask for salt and Pepper only for him "this time" to suddenly disappear. So I got up and asked the bartenders for salt and pepper. The food was bland and the serving size was half of what we usually get there. When Austin finally returned with the bread and oil, the bread was cold. No attempt at heating it or toasting it. It was literally a roll of French bread, cut into slices, and then some oil thrown in. We were hungry so we ate our dinners. Austin returned as soon as he saw we were done eating to take our plates and asked if we would like any desserts. I made a comment. I don't want any desserts if they taste like our dinner. He then grabbed our plates and walked away, staring at me the entire time. He then immediately brought our tab, which was $79 for two plates of half full pasta dishes, one iced tea and a cold French bread. I have been there several times before to where the service was outstanding, the food delicious, and the atmosphere great. But this was quite disheartening especially at being a Saturday night. I almost always order a bottle or two of wine plus an after dinner cocktail. Because of the way I was made to feel and how bad the food was. I decided not to stay and left almost immediately after my dinner. Especially since it was made so clear we weren't necessarily welcomed to stay. One thing I've always found kind of catchy about the place. Is they serve your water in old retired liquor glasses. Both glasses of water they brought still had the sticky residue left on them. Which was more of an agitation after the night we had. Again, overall, the previous experiences will allow me to go back again. But this experience needed to be heard.

My sister and I dined outside which reminded me of a cafe on the street in Paris. We both ordered the salmon salad. It did take some time for our order to arrive but it was well worth it. The salmon was cooked to perfection. The salad was fresh and flavorful. The waitress was very attentive with refills on iced tea and cold water in jars for the table. The owner has done the best he can with putting some patio furniture out front on the sidewalk, but the City should consider an ordinance revisions that allows indoor smoking for businesses that have tobacco as the primary product offered. I hope the City makes the adjustment before the owner has to close the doors.

The liquor area has a fair selection of beverages at competitive prices. Bulk candy is readily available at very cheap prices. Mikey, the Head Cigar Guy, is super friendly and knowledgeable. I usually browse the liquor and candy aisles while hubby is deciding. The other staff is also friendly - not in-your-face, jumping up and down type of friendly - but approachable and helpful. And pleasant when ringing your purchases up. When I'm shopping, I like to be left alone until and if I have a question. I buy alot more that way.

When I buy heavy things, they always help me carry it to my car. Their beer is SO cold! I love bringing it out of the big beer cooler! They have so many beers stocked in the walk-in cooler, and they have them organized so you can see and access them easily. They have a variety of wine and liquors even though the building is small. They also have a drive-through which is very handy at times! They even have a humidor in the building for all your cigar and tobacco needs. I love the smell!

I asked to order be a case of Starr chewing tobacco and I would pick it up on Sunday 8/6/23. She said she would order a case of tobacco and have it Sunday. When I stopped by Sunday and asked for the Starr chewing tobacco, I was told by a guy called "MO" that he had sold the last box (Starr is normally comes with two packs in a box) to a woman earlier that afternoon and there was no more in the store. When I asked if she purchased a whole case, he said she had purchased a whole case and there was no more Starr chewing tobacco in the store and then chose to ignore me. I ordered a whole case of Starr chewing tobacco that the normally do stock in the store that was to arrive Friday afternoon and was purchased 2 1/2 days later on Sunday, the last box had been sold. Either they never ordered the Starr chewing tobacco, or the vendor was not able to deliver the tobacco, or the guy named 'MO' was not telling the truth. The main card reader wasn't working for my purchase so she had me use a second one so I rang myself up. It was asking how I wanted my receipt but I didn't care. Transaction wasn't going through until she pushed a button to print my receipt. She's angerly saying out loud what did you do.? She realized that it was waiting for her.
