As far as the bar, the place has been packed every time we visit. People are lined up around the bar 5 - 6 deep and the bar staff are slammin. Drink specials are pretty alright - always a good deal on shots or special drinks. Cherry limeades seem pretty popular but that's not for me. There's a strong pour and a lot of energy going into making sure everyone has a good time. On our last visit, my daughter (college mom here) ordered a rum and coke. The bar tender added a lime and she looked at him in horror. She's allergic to limes. Even with a gazillion people waiting, he caught her look and without prompting immediately made her a new drink with no lime. He gifted the rum and coke with lime to my husband and off we went, but not before making sure to thank him on the gratuity line. He didn't have to do that and the fact he did it without an exchange of words and while navigating a big crowd - well, it was beyond expectation. Appreciate the service, the drinks, the opportunity to spend time with our college kiddos in a space they feel safe and comfortable.

Outstanding. Lots of onions and green peppers on a nicely buttered and toasted roll. I upgraded potato chips to french fries which was a disappointment. They were limp and extremely greasy. And as they cooled they got worse. Will try the tater tots next time and ask for them crispy. Carley the server is the bomb. Very friendly and attentive. My wife and I have enjoyed many lunches and a few late- night dinners where we entertained guests at The Pitt in downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. We are frequent visitors to Pittsburg State University, my alma mater, and to SE Kansas in general, where I grew up from age 8 on. The Pitt excels in down-home friendliness, hospitality of waitstaff [most of whom seem to be female university students]. We always enjoy chatting with them prior to ordering, and even now and then throughout our meals. There is a decent selection of cold draft beers. House salad sides are HUGE [wife and I share one, and usually take some back to our hotel]. We always try something new such as versions of their nachos or quesadillas; some are keepers, some we won't order again, but ALL ARE GOOD!
