A demand letter was sent, and when it went unanswered, a lawsuit was filed. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The complaint contained errors, including my name and address. Communication was poor throughout the representation. I often felt uninformed about the status of my case, and I found that what was discussed during phone calls did not always match what was later communicated by email. At one point, during a conversation about my case, I was told personal information about the attorney opening a shop for his wife, which I felt was unrelated to my legal matter. I was paying a monthly legal fee and believed my case was still actively progressing. Then, in early 2025, I learned from someone other than my attorney that my case had already resulted in a default judgment because the defendant failed to respond. I was surprised that I was not informed promptly by my own attorney. I also discovered that a court hearing previously scheduled for May 19, 2025, was no longer necessary because the case had already been resolved by default. I had to email my attorney myself to ask about it. As someone who had already lost money in an investment scam, it was extremely frustrating to feel uninformed while continuing to pay monthly legal fees. I said I will need it sooner than that. I then received a Court decision the next day that made the need for the Trust mute. They then said they moved up the meeting date, which wasn't needed then. So they kept my $8,750 claiming they "did work for me" over the 24 hour period that was "moved up" instead of the 5 week wait. I have nothing. They did no work but insist on keeping all my money. I offered to pay for time spent , they refused. They kept my entire payment. My advice would be to not be as trusting and in hindsight "stupid" for paying up front an entire bill. My problem is I trust people, and this is an expensive lesson that I shouldn't have trusted the Siegel Law Group.
