I would never come back to this place!!! I booked an appointment weeks ago via the styleseat app. I get here and I see them talking in secret after checking in. Turns out Lupita overbooked services and she moved my appointment to another stylist. When I asked why I was being moved I was told it was due to being booked with another stylist. I said no I was booked correctly. Then, I was told it was a glitch with the app. When I said I booked Lupita for her reviews, Lupita finally came over and said she couldn't take me because she overbooked. I told her I booked this weeks ago and she said she had no way of contacting me. Bull crap!! The app has everything. Aftet a few minutes she said ut was because I was a new client and that's ehy I was the one to be moved. I explain the reason for the booking was the reviews and I didn't know the new stylist, she said don't worry she is good. No, that is not what I wanted and booked. I told her I wanted the appointment canceled and I don't want a charge since this is not my fault!!! She asked if I wanted to rebook?!?!?! Why would I do that since I drove across town for horrible service. She canceled it and didn't charge me. Do yourself a favor and pass in this place if you are a new client. UPDATE: I have since been contacted from the owner of the business and I requested a reasonable refund and this business refused. Beware look elsewhere for your hair needs. Not a happy customer. I asked for simple face framing highlights, basically a chunky highlight framing my face and that's not at all what I got. The technician didn't even get the complete length of my hair bleached!! It doesn't look how I was told it was going to. It looks more like a home hair style instead of a $150 service! Extremely disappointed as this was my first time requesting highlights ever. My 2 daughters and I needed haircuts but never made appointments anywhere so we decided to walk-in to Mixtix based solely on their Yelp reviews. And we were not disappointed. With only a 20 minute wait to be seen, Lupita graciously gave up her lunch hour to take us. I have very long and "textured" hair that looks very dead and damaged...Lupita knew exactly what to do and went at it. My hair looks so much better and much healthier! My oldest daughter has very long and thick hair, and has been complaining about headaches so a hair cut was needed. Lupita took off about 6-8 inches of hair and did long layers so that it would help lighten her head. My daughter is so happy with the results and thrilled with the new bounce in her hair. My middle daughter just wanted bangs and was seen by one of the other stylists that was free. She was friendly and was able to get it done quick. My daughter is pleased about her new bangs! The kicker!!! Another reason for 5 stars! My youngest, a 4 year old, didn't need a haircut but cried for one. Another hairstylist felt bad and wanted to make my daughter feel better. She told me she's used to babies crying about getting haircuts and rarely hear babies cry because they WANT their hair cut, so she kindly took my baby to a chair and pretended to give her a haircut! My baby was thrilled! It was the thought and care that this stylist gave my baby that made me step back in awe! She had close to white bangs. the stylist Tonya! finished dying her bangs a white-ish and her came out superb. Everywhere we went compliments. Few weeks later when the roots grew she went there again and she came out with golden brown bangs we were like wtf? she went for a touch up and came out golden brown as if starting to bleach blonde. after trying couple of weeks getting in contact to fix the problem. We went and her bangs were a little lighter. After weeks of messaging and my spouse crying for her hair, no answer to fix the botched work. We wondered how can someone who has years in the field messed up so badly with something so simple. My spouse mentioned that it looked like she was trying to mimic her style. Then, it made sense. Just got my second haircut at this place and I have to say it turned out pretty good! Tonia is an awesome hairstylist because she literally will pay attention to what you tell her and will also make suggestions if you have no idea what you want in a haircut. My hair is kinda tricky to cut because of all the cowlicks. I always tell this to the stylists and there have been a bunch of them who still cut my hair in a way that will make my hair stand up. I decided to check this place out because of all the positive reviews and I am really glad that I did! I have only gotten my hair cut by Tonia, but I am pretty sure the other stylists are awesome as well. The service is really good and Tonia will spend A LOT of time on your hair until you and her are satisfied with the result. Celia took very good care of my *extra long locks... She cut a few inches off the bottom and was very gentle with my long locks while brushing, which does tangle very easily but she managed it just fine.
