But going with the reviews maybe the should stick to being a pub and keep food out thanks. Also they use rectangular plates so imho you get less on the plate, but the boat ride outside is better, we had an excellent view of the Durham Cathedral from here and you get a history behind Durham, very interesting ,I don't mean the canoe's thanks.

It is definitely refreshing to see somewhere in Durham city centre with a lot of variety. I was especially impressed by the variety of gin. They had local Durham Gin, which is definitely worth trying as well as a few others. The bar staff were friendly and it was quite busy while I was in (and this was during the day) so beware as it may be a lot busier evenings and weekends. This definitely somewhere I'll be hanging out more often and sampling many of the different beers.

The haddock batter was crisp and the fish was tasty and not dry at all. Loved the mushy peas, though I have no idea if that is what they are supposed to taste like or not. Overall a very nice place, though a bit on the higher side for a student budget. I think my total meal with a lemonade and tip was 11 quid.
