I would give him 2 stars because *mostly* the music choices were ok, but the intense and unnecessary stress and aggression he created was so painful and I could not bring myself to any form of recommendation. At the end of the night, after myself and several other members of my wedding party tried to ask him to find the "last song", a friend of mine eventually saved the day and found the song on her iPod and figured out how to hook it up to a speaker. Do yourself a favor and avoid the pain.

How about when he blew our announcements by missing a couple altogether and then humiliated us as we walked out to our guests? That was a real great way to start our reception. Instead of working with the maitre'd, he kept bothering my wife looking for the wedding parties. Carlos was very unmotivated and it was clear for all to see. We also offered to provide him with music but he assured us that he was good to go yet. However, neither my wife nor I, recall hearing a considerable amount of our requested songs. Our guests are still talking about how bad our DJ was, most likely because of how rude and unorganized he was. Maybe it was because we prepaid or he had a rough night but that is absolutely no excuse to mail it in the way he did. Thanks, DJ Ceremony. Beware.

For reference, my wedding was in October 2007. I first contacted them in March 2007. I filled out their forms, and agreed to pay them $500 for their services. They do not require a deposit. I contacted them again in August to make sure they still had us in their schedule. They did. I contacted them again at the beginning of October so that I could meet with my DJ and discuss song choices with the DJ. One of the DJs called me back and told me he'd be DJing my wedding. He was kind of rude and kept saying, "I can't believe you've waited this long to get a DJ, I can't believe you've waited this long to contact us!" After SEVERAL of these comments, I was like, UMMM I first reserved yall in March. He seemed surprised. Later in the conversation, he said he could meet with me to talk in Round Rock. I live in Houston. My wedding was going to be in Houston. He was shocked, he thought my wedding would be in Austin. Apparently, because my cell phone number had a 512 area code (I went to school there), DJs Unlimited assumed my wedding would be in Austin and didn't take the time to read a few lines down on their form and see that my wedding would be in Houston. So they assigned me the Austin DJ. Fine. I guess that's an easily-made mistake. A few days later I met with this DJ in person. He kept making comments like, "Wow I've never met a bride like you before, I can't believe you haven't chosen these songs yet!!!!!" He wasn't saying this in a joking fashion, he was actually taken aback by my "lack of preparation". And the songs he couldn't believe I hadn't chosen were the flipping cake cutting song and anniversary dance song. I apparently wasn't bridezilla enough for him because I wasn't f-ing freaking out about the cake cutting song! Anyway, I was not very happy with being insulted by a DJ. During this meeting, I also paid an extra $250 for a screen and projector system to be set up and run during the beginning of the reception. When I met with the reception people, they told me I could get a screen and projector for them for $150. I contacted DJs Unlimited and told them I was canceling my order for the screen and projector. I get another call from the DJ concerning my songs, I think we were confirming another song choice. He again seemed to be under the impression that my wedding was in Austin. I told him it was in Houston. Fast forward to a few days before the wedding. I receive a call from another DJ, different from the one I previously dealt with, and he tells me he will be the DJ for my wedding. Okaaay. Fine. This guy tells me that he knows where my reception location is and he will see me on Saturday. The DJ was fine at the wedding, although of the 5-6 songs I requested be played that I had discussed with the first DJ, only one was played. These songs were special to my husband and I, and they were left out. The real irritation I had with DJs Unlimited was that it took them a good 5 months and many, many phone calls for them to refund my $250. I was so irritated. I first canceled the order in mid-October and did not receive a refund from them until mid-March. To be honest, I would not recommend DJs Unlimited to anyone. They were probably the most difficult wedding vendor I dealt with. I did not appreciate being insulted by the first DJ, and I really didn't appreciate them constantly telling my husband our check was in the mail when it wasn't. They get two stars because the DJ at the wedding was an overall good DJ. Dealing with the company, however, was not a good experience.

Their survey they send out prior to the wedding is all inclusive and has a fantastic amount of personal preferences you can put in. Anything they are not sure of they call you a few weeks before the wedding and follow up which I thought was so nice. The day of Michael was fantastic and had a great personality for our wedding. He was kind and welcoming and very sweet. He listened to everything we asked and although we did not have an official final dance he made sure we got the last song we requested as a nice moment for just the two of us while others were setting up the grand exit. It was a great experience that I was so happy with overall.

About a week out from the wedding, James had a call with us where he went over our timeline and what all announcements we were wanting him to make as the MC. He pointed out to us (and was 100% right about) some issues that we didn't even know we might have and how to address them. Only a few days before the wedding, when we realized that the version of the song we had learned our choreography to for our first dance was edited down from the full version, we emailed James in a panic about what to do. He reassured us that he would find a way to make it work and ultimately edited his own version for us. On the day of the wedding, James arrived early, fielded tech issues that arose from our venue like a champ, and made sure everyone had a great time. Our guests, both old and young, complimented what a great job he was doing throughout the night. The photo booth that we rented through him was also a big hit. James makes sure that in addition to the printed photos at the event, you get a digital copy of all of the photos taken as well. It was fun getting to go back days later and look at all the pictures of our guests enjoying themselves. If we could give James and Ace's High Productions six stars, we would. We can't recommend him highly enough.
