This review is specific to one hair stylist (I see a few reviews are for the aesthetician service). We've seen Adrian 6 times now, since moving to EP from San Diego, and he never disappoints! From hair cuts, to color or blow dry, he is knowledge, professional, patient, thorough, and the service is stellar. Recommend for men, children's, women's cuts (my whole family sees him now!) and color. I have blonde hair and prefer hand-painted highlights and lowlights. He is flexible with his schedule to meet my availability, and always provides amazing results. Really cannot say enough how happy I am with my hair. Ok, I don't write bad reviews often and I wasn't even planning on writing this one until today that I experienced what an actual facial really is! I got a facial done by Alexis about 3 months ago, and she suggested a chemical peel. The peel was gentle, so no complaints there but my actual facial was super quick with minimal massage time! I feel like I was in there 30 minutes if that and 10-15 minutes was being under the steamer. The facial was nothing compared to what I just received at Blush Boutique and Spa for the same price! We had a ball coming up so I made an appointment with Deborah to have my hair done. Check in wasn't that friendly, but Deborah herself was amazing! I'm getting a cut and dye next weekends so I will post before and afters because I have not found any reviews on the place for cuts so I am taking one for the team! BUT the spa experience is PHENOMENAL! My husband and I went months ago and can't stop raving about how much we adore this place. Our facials left us glowing, and the estictician hands put me to sleep three times. Hubby did not even tell me he was getting a facial, I saw his face and just KNEW. I can't get over how amazing the customer service was, so sweet and doting. Bringing us cucumber water constantly and the esticiaian brought me samples he recommended for my dry lips :D The massages were great but the use of the shower (shampoos, fluffy robes AH!) and the sauna sent me to cloud nine. do it, just DO it, treat yourself. love love love it! read more

I liked the environment, though found a few things to be off. I will not mention the stylist's name since I can't remember it and I don't care to ruin anyone's reputation. 1) A little about me, I've always had very long hair. I used to straighten it since it is very curly but stopped in the past year to let it grow. I went in to get a haircut because I decided it was time to try short hair for a change so essentially I went in to get a short haircut. I did not go in with the intention of getting a bob haircut. I wanted my hair to be a bit shorter than a bob. The concern from the stylist and the inexperienced stylist caused them to voice their opinions that I shouldn't have short hair. It is my hair so I will decide. I appreciate some forethought to "maybe I shouldn't cut this girl's hair all off" but I know what I want. Try not to question your customers so much. 2) The prices change when you get there. I called ahead of time and let the stylist know of my hair length and exactly what I was looking for and they gave me a price quote. Halfway through doing my hair they bumped the price up by $20 (i.e. + 30% of the price I was told). I am not sure what the reason for the increase in price was other than it was taking them longer than they thought to do my hair. Again, I told them it would take a bit of effort. After getting it cut it isn't even as bad as other stylists have had to deal with. They only hair they had to straighten was about 35% of my original length. Other stylists have had it harder for cheaper. 3) I HATE it when people double-team my hair to get it done. Again, my hair wasn't even that long anymore and they had two people straightening my hair at the same time. If I called in and asked who my stylist would be then I expect only them. I dislike having a more inexperienced person do my hair at the same time. I did not sign up to help struggling artists/stylists learn how to do hair. If you were going to have a noob do my hair then you should have let me know and given me the option to opt out. Not only did I hate getting double-teamed straightening, I also hated that it was by an aspiring stylist. If I wanted my hair to be done by some inexperienced kid still learning then I would have gone to the mall or wherever the school for hair people is and asked them to do it for free. 4) The reason they get 2 stars is because the hairstyle did turn out well despite my having to re-straighten it properly when I got home. I have definitely had better stylists before. This haircut was not even on the expensive side for prices I've paid before but if I get a quote then I expect them to keep to it. P.S. I feel sorry for stylists because they have to listen to exactly what the customer wants even if it doesn't suit them. Stylistically that might be hard to swallow but it's the world we live in. If I pay you then I expect what I wanted. If you want to be an artist then be an artist; just not with my hair. read more

I went for a facial and the lady had non stop talking and did not let me relax when all I wanted was deep cleansing and the only way to keep her quiet I just said yes to whatever she was selling. I went back in to get a deep cleansing facial like I wanted at first and she said she didn't do it so she sent me to someone else and she took it all out but left my face looking so bad and destroyed. I went before with this one girl for a deep cleansing and she did not hurt my face the way it looks right now full of scans unlike the first tome I went and my face look hydrated and not full of red ugly scabs. I just wanted a good deep cleaning facial and got the worst service. The lady I wanted was unable because she had a baby and I recommend her. read more

The stylist I see here is Dale Johnson. I've followed him from two other El Paso salons over the years, and have also stayed with him since my move to Las Cruces. I drive 2 hours round trip for Dale to do my hair. Shouldn't that be recommendation enough? He does my highlights, cuts, and keratin treatments; and, he keeps his skills up by staying abreast of new products, new hair styling tools, and new styling techniques. I consistently get compliments on my hair and it's all due to him. His prices are reasonable for the area too. I have been curious this place ever since I saw the construction on the top of the hill on the westside, so when I saw a LivingSocial Deal for them I quickly took advantage of it. The deal included a mani/pedi, massage, sauna, and facial for only $99! It was absolutely worth every penny. Everyone was really polite and professional. The services were also amazing! I felt like a princess for the day. They were even nice enough to give me free stuff before I left, some lavender bath salt and facial gel to help with some skin issues. You can tell that they are striving to be one of the best salons and spas in El Paso, and I do not doubt that they will get there one day! read more

I was super excited to get my hair done today, because it had been a while and wanted to add more blonde. It had been 2 days since I washed my hair, since that is what I have always been told is a good time frame between washes, especially if you are to be adding color to your hair. Well... Osmar was my stylist today, and last time I visited the salon (which was my first visit). Today I was seated in his salon chair and waited a few minutes for him to arrive. Upon arrival, he immediately started combing through my hair, and with disgust practically in his voice, he said "when was the last time you washed your hair!?" Loud enough for people in surrounding chairs to hear, which by then I am embarrassed, but I tell him. He then complains to me that I am putting him way behind schedule. I then genuinely apologize because I do not like being an inconvenience to anyone. He did not respond to my apology and then stormed off with his assistant. That was the last I saw of him that day. A few minutes later, his assistant comes back and says "you're going to need to come back another day since you put him behind schedule," which at this point, I am trying to hold back tears." I agree and then she says "and next time, just make sure you come in with clean hair." At that point I just leave. I will not be returning, and I hate making complaints like this, but I already have bad self esteem, and I want to make sure that another girl is not made to feel this way. read more

DONT COME HERE!!! If I could give this salon ZERO STARS I would! I have gotten my Mircobead extensions and eyelash extensions done before my wedding it was out of the country. 2 days after I got my extensions and got to my destination they turned into DREAD LOCKS! I was frantic and upset the day before my wedding I tried to detangel my extensions but my SCALP STARTED TO BLEED. With minutes it turned to dreadlocks again. IT RUINED MY WEDDING DAY!!! I went to salons to try to remove them they had to cut my own hair to get to the beads to remove them. My hair was awful on my wedding day. My EYELASH EXTENSIONS FELL OUT IN LESS THAN A WEEK!! When I complained they said they would set me up with a senior lash technician. I came in for a complimentary service from my last She left me alone in the room for 45 minutes! Trust me that was no senior lash technician my lashes fell out completely on one eye after 2 weeks. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL PLACE!!! They only offered for me to come back to fix the problem and NOT REFUND MY MONEY it was super expensive for services NO APOLOGIES either. My friend got her eyelash extensions here by Oliva and had a terrible experience. She previously used to get them done regularly in Austin and never had any issues. A couple hours after getting them done at Mix Salon her eyes and entire face swell and had to go to an urgent care. She contacted Olivia for advice and Olivia referred her to someone else to remove them. Olivia also stated that reactions are always a risk and therefore no sort of refund could be given. She just said to see an eye doctor. Other eyelash technicians who were able to remove the lashes advised her that the lashes were extremely close to her skin causing some sort of reaction. read more

Let me start by letting you know that I have been a patron of Mix Salon for years now. And for years, I have loved every time I've gotten my hair cut/done/blown out... Unfortunately though, I do have a bone to pick. I usually get my hair done with Lilian, and let me tell you, she is VERY talented. However, she is the CHEAPEST person I have ever met. On many prior occasions she has misrepresented the cost of my treatment before we get started, and afterward, she will provide me with a bill with many additional costs never mentioned to me prior. Furthermore, she will find every possible opportunity to charge me for minuscule things. She is also very sneaky. The first time I asked the cost of a Brazilian blowout, she told me that it would be ~$350, but for me, she would discount the rate to ~$250. Only later did I find out that the actual cost of a BB was ~$250, and that she had lied about the initial cost. If she wasn't such a talented stylist, I would have never come back, but alas here I am. I 10/10 recommend mix and recommend Lilian, just remember to hold her accountable for every cost. read more

I went to Mix Salon & Spa for a trim and was given Anabel as my stylist. I am ALWAYS concerned when getting a trim, some stylists take off too much and I leave wishing I had just skipped the trim. Well, Annabelle was FANTASTIC. I can barely tell any length is gone, but the few split ends I had are gone. Not only did she do the trim perfectly, she is very gentle (not giving you a headache tugging on a tangle) and super sweet to talk to. I highly highly highly recommend her. I've been to 360 Colour Bar & Barragan's for my hair and I would never consider going back to either, Mix Salon will be my go-to from here on out! read more

Delilah Mejia is a hair genius. She is not only phenomenal and cutting and styling but does an amazing job with color as well. She really listens to her clients desires and gives valuable input into what type of maintenance a particular cut or color will require and what will work best for them. As far as the spa, Erica gives excellent massages and the ambience is very relaxing. I have received a good manicure and pedicure there as well although I can't remember the technicians name. I can't recommend the esthetician I had give me a facial; she did not communicate well about what she was about to do/put on my face and put a mask on that smelled like sulfur and was very nauseating and then was extremely pushy trying to get me to buy products. However, go get a massage by Erica, your hair done by Delilah, and then get a mani/pedi. You won't regret it! read more
