Based along the same lines as Howard's Storage, except it's one of a kind and not a chain. I have to be honest and say they're not cheap and that too depends on what you need for where. For example I bought a two level spice rack for $40, crazy but true only because there was nothing else around and short of using two planks of wood in the pantry..there was nothing else available to buy anywhere else. It's a corner shop with several levels as it is on the hilly side of the road but every area has something for the purpose of storage. There's also a baragin section which is worth checking out as some items are up to half price. They stock what seems to be the entire range of Elfa storage systems and this is definitely not cheap but will last a life time. Internal storage systems are not designed to be pretty as they're not exposed to be seen all the time, so looks are not necessary only the function. Well worth a look as they have it all covered.

We found him a a little hard to understand, but he knew his business. He was friendly and helpful, able to make good suggestions, yet listening to what (we thought) we needed. We accepted his quote which I thought was quite reasonable. Two weeks later he returned, exactly as arranged, and quickly installed the drawers. We are thrilled with the outcome. The drawers slide easily, and each drawer comes with a little wheel on the door side so that the door doesn't get marked. Ingenious! We paid by credit card, and there is some funny business about a receipt having to be returned by Australia Post a week later. This aspect of the business could be improved. However, we are delighted with this transaction, and would unreservedly recommend the Storage Shop for this type of installation.

All in all, it will appeal to some who can afford to spend more, and for those who can't, there is always Target.

Wheel and Barrow stock Kitchen Aid; toasters, mixers and more mixers. If you do want to splash out on an expensive appliance for your kitchen I would definitely recommend one of these. The shop also has thousands of other kitchen items. Glasses, cupcake stands, sushi making equipment and every bowl and plate you could think of. They also have a beautiful range of recipe books. It is not the biggest range, but they are good books that look so nice they could be coffee table pieces. The ladies working there are always very helpful. I am often in there frantically searching for a last minute present for Mum and they always come up with the goods!

Run by Church of Christ, this op shop is another goldmine which I have discovered during my op shopping adventures. The prices are low, clothings range are fantastic and they have a good stock of children's clothes here at fantastic prices. I've picked up a Ralph Lauren top for my son, in excellent condition and I've found so many Zara pieces even before this much talk about brand hit Adelaide shores. The staff and volunteers are absolutely friendly, chatty and almost know you by your first name. This is also a best place to shop for Christmas deco, as they have some gorgeous deco packages, all packed neatly and usually priced for a $2 or so. At the kids corner, there is a toy box where kids can happily pick a toy for free! The manager Gabrielle tells me that they support various charities, both local and international. I love coming here and school mums have concurred with me that this is certainly one op shop that has grown within the community, plus will never say no to a haggle, something that you don't usually see within the larger op shops. With an op shop that works towards charity causes, I highly recommend a visit here to support their ongoing charity work.

Basically most Harvey Norman stores are set up the same. Huge entrances to the furniture department. Usually entrances are in the middle of lounges, if you go one way you will ge tmore furniture then curve round to televisions and the likes, go the other way and get beds and bedding. I have managed to grab some fantastic bargains on some great pillows here actually. Heaps better quality than at department stores and they lasted heaps longer. The Electrical and Computers are usually in a separate section at the rear or one side of the store, with electrical left of the spearate entrance to this area and computer, mobiles phones, camera's, PC software, etc to the right of the registers. I have never purchased nay major electrical items from this store but have bought some really good computer equipment here. Including a fantastic Acer laptop. It was already out so cheap and had a cah back offer making it even cheaper in the end. I have always received good service here and been given some great advice from people who obviously know their products. Getting the service is the hardest part - they are usually really busy, more so in computers and electrical departments, and it may take a little wait before someone is available to help you. However once you have someone their service is usually very good, I have never had an issue with a staff member at any Harvey Norman store.

But I find that you're paying for it when you buy stuff here. That's why they bitch and moan about online shopping. You'll get exactly the same thing and pay less than half the cost in many situations. I haven't ever bought furniture at Hardly Normal's, just because if I'm paying that much, it'll be from a premium store, not this place, or any of the others. I do feel a bit sorry for those that have to buy their computers here. Seriously, go to MSY, buy the parts, and learn to do it yourself. You'll end up with a new skill, a computer that costs literally half the price (or less), and everyone will tell you you're awesome. Which is what I can't tell this place.
