This is the place to go for your special automobile that is deserving of a little facelift. We took our 1980s BMW 320i here because we knew that our mechanic and friend highly recommended them. So here's why they really stood out: Mitch and his son are especially genuine people. You can tell they love the business they are in because they take special care to make sure the job is done thoroughly, and in a way that will surpass your expectations. Our car ended up having some rust under the driver's side floor panels, which, is to be expected in a 35+-year-old vehicle. It was treated with rust-stopper paint, ensuring that the problem would not continue to advance. The carpet kit I was able to select matched the original equipment very well. I will say that the car looks, smells, and feels the way it surely did in 1982. I feel like I am in a John Hughes movie when I drive this car. (Sorry to the Millenials who don't get that one, look it up.) Mitch's went above and beyond to make sure all the seams and clips and points of attachment looked perfect. It's like a dream. It would have taken me a month of struggling and cursing to do what they did in just a couple of days. I am forever grateful and smiling that I finally took the car that I've loved for years to a place that honored it and fixed it up as if they were the owner. Do yourself a favor and go and see Mitch. The prices are super reasonable. If you're on the fence about a restoration type project, remember that just because your older vehicle may have a few dings, and some rusty scars, doesn't mean it deserves to be traded in or worse! I had heard this was the place to get your upholstery taken care of, repaired, whatever. It might be, but I'll never know, I went in for an estimate, the guy (Mitch?) picked out a color of leather, gave me an estimate, gave me an appointment for two weeks away. I show up for the appointment after arranging for a ride, and guess what? They didn't get the fabric in. Nice, no phone call to let me know, just lets me show up and inconveniences both myself and the person I had arranged to pick me up. Driving over the grade at peak traffic time, 8am. The next day I drove to The TOP Shop in Atascadero, Glenn looked at it, gave me an estimate and an appointment for the next day. I was thinking, no way, but yes way. I showed up, he had the job done in two hours for 100 bucks cheaper than stitches. Just sayin. IMO if you want a job done quickly, on time and for less money, go to Top Shop. read more

The seat threads on our BMW were unraveling so Mitches was recommended by a body shop in Grover Beach. Mitch and his two sons operate the business. Awesome! I had a tear in a pretty expensive car's front seat and thought I would have to replace the whole thing. Mitch was able to match the fabric and repaired the seat so well that it is literally as good as new and I can't tell the leathers been replaced. Mitch is def a great guy. I give 5 stars for quality. His workmanship, and quality is very superior. But, I am left a bit displeased by what I received from them. My order was done well, but not exactly how I wanted it. Unfortunately it appears I will have to live with it. Mitch and David took my old Steelcase chair and put a fantastic vinyl covering and superb foam underneath. This material is looks and feels like a very expensive leather. It's super easy to clean. The job wasn't cheap but we knew this going in. It was worth every penny. They were miracle workers and were very clear in what was involved and what the can and can't do. These are the good folks you want for any upholstery work. It will come out better than it was new! Very happy. The precision and detail was better than you can expect. This is not your run-of-the-mill upholstery business. I dealth with David who is Mitch's son. He was knowledgeable and knew how to communicate with me so there were no suprises. I had to replace the right front headrest on my Jaguar. I ordered the one I thought was correct from eBay, but unfortunately it was not the one I needed. He was able to pull out parts from the old headrest and repair the internal portions which were broken on the new headrest; then put it back together like new. He called me 3 times during the repair process to keep me up to date. I thought for sure it would be much more expensive than his original quote, yet the price he mentioned was 1/2 as much!...overall 1/3 of what I would have had to pay if I had taken it to the Jaguar dealership 100 miles away. I had to bargain up, something I'd never done before, because I felt terrible with all the work it took. David finally accepted a higher amount but still not close to the original quote. I highly recommend this business and David for your upholstery needs. read more

Mitch is great to work with, did the work in a week, and his charge was reasonable.
