Mike Mitchell of Mitchell Appliance is an excellent technician. He responded to our voicemail quickly, He is prompt and shows up during the time frame he indicated. It's obvious he knows appliances. He responds to questions well and is more than happy to educate the customer about their appliance and his diagnosis of the issue. He's very easy to talk to and is responsive to questions with answers that we can understand. He doesn't scoff at what we don't know. He gives an honest answer to an honest question. We thought that our stove was running cold and when he finished testing with his expensive equipment, it turned out to be a little bit hot. He explained all that and adjusted a little bit and we're going to try it out later today. You know, he doesn't think he walks on water, but compared to other repairmen we've used, I do. Absolutely fantastic service. Called him on Sunday and left a message, and he called back Monday morning to set an appointment. I wasn't free until Friday, which worked for him, and he showed up on time (and called when he was on his way). That's how it's done, people! The ice maker on my fridge had stopped producing ice after 22 years and I wasn't about to replace the whole fridge with some new one that'll die right after the 3-year warranty expires. Mike brought a replacement unit with him, and for $219 (parts, labor, and tax) he was out in 30 minutes and I had ice again. Super nice guy, too. read more

Mike at Mitchell appliance was one of the nicest and most honest repair men that I have ever had come out to look at my washer which was making an awful noise. It burned out to be the transmission in my 5 year old Maytag was toast. I was so surprised as the machine was not really that old. Sadly, according to him, today's washers only last 2-5 years. My machine was five years and three months old. The repair was more than the machine was worth and almost as much as a new machine. He recommended buying a vintage all mechanical washing machine as they are easily and affordably repaired. I took his advice and am very happy with the vintage Maytag machine I purchased from Complete Appliance in Lodi that he recommended. I love my washing machine and it wasn't getting all the water out of the clothes. I looked at all the local appliance repair companies, and chose Mitchell's, after seeing he had the best reviews. I now know why! Mike, the owner, arrive promptly and was very nice. He ran different tests on my washer, and determined it was the way the loads were being put in, and the items in the load. Garbage disposal rotted out so I bought a new one since I've done it before. I couldn't get the replacement to hook up so I called Mike on short notice. He had a cancellation and was here within 3 hours. He was able to make the new installation that I couldn't get to fit. $75 was the charge and I'm back in business. Mike is a wizard! I found this company on the Next Door app and Mike came highly recommended. My fridge was on the fritz and the guy I used last time wasn't returning calls. So while my food was spoiling away, I tried texting this contact's number. Within minutes Mike called me back and asked what I needed help with. I wasn't home to give him the details on the fridge model, etc, but with enough information, he was able to diagnose I had one of two possible problems, both of which likely would cost more in parts than would be worth keeping since my fridge/freezer is 12 years old. So his honesty saved me money on repairing an appliance I'd be better off replacing. He then spent time on the phone going over what to look for and avoid on new appliances and had so much knowledge! All this for free, mind you! He even offered to have me call back if I had more questions on what to shop for. Incredible. I live on a houseboat on the Delta and my oven decided not to light last night. Mike was recommended to me from another shop. He knew the marina that I live in and arrived in the time frame he said. I was expecting the worst but upon inspection he found the ignighter had been disabled from a metal pan in the bottom sliding drawer touching it. He could have sold me a new valve or a ignighter but did not. He even gave me a break on the show up fee. Nice to meet someone that is not into ripping you off. Hats off to Mike! read more
