Apex Auto Glass and Windshield Repair

I spoke with Chris from Apex. He was efficient ,attentive, and answered all my questions…read moreappropriately . Chris even price matched my quote from a competitor company. I am very pleased and satisfied with Apex. They replaced my window and did an awesome job. I do recommend them!

My first impression of Apex was great. Unfortunately, things…read moreonly got worse from there. I called around for quotes and found Apex, with high praise reviews. Chris walked me through three options for my Q5: OEM glass, non-OEM acoustic, and non-OEM non-acoustic glass. I confirmed calibration was included and chose the acoustic glass to balance cost and quality. The appointment went smoothly. I dropped my Q5 off around 11am on a Saturday and it was done in under an hour. Chris was upfront that a piece of plastic on the mirror housing was already cracked, and told me before I noticed. At this point I thought I'd found an honest shop. Around 8pm that day, back in the car after some errands, it threw a loud warning that Audi pre-sense had malfunctioned. This is what I was trying to avoid by passing on lower rated shops with reviews of calibration problems. I called the following week to report it, mentioned a bubble in front of the camera, and was told it was a manufacturing issue. That didn't make sense, since they installed the glass and mounting pad. Any defect there is an installation issue, not manufacturing. I brought the car back about a week later. When I arrived, I was asked if I'd left a review yet. I hadn't yet, since I was waiting to see how things played out, but it made me feel like treatment might depend on the answer. I dropped the car off, got breakfast, and came back an hour later to find it sitting out front, done. They said they'd fixed the bubble and recalibrated the camera, but the pre-sense error was still showing. The GM apparently said it should clear after 50 to 100 miles, which raised a red flag, since that's the kind of behavior you'd expect from clearing a fault code, not fixing the problem. I asked what would happen if it came back and was told they'd try again, not promising after two attempts with no plan. The error cleared itself later that afternoon, but something still felt off. My pre-sense system wasn't detecting nearby vehicles the way it normally did. So I bought an OBDeleven scanner and learned to use it. A scan showed the last static calibration on file was from 2019, the year the car was made, meaning no static calibration was ever performed after the windshield replacement. Further research confirmed dynamic calibration depends on static calibration being done first, and even a small camera misalignment can cause a range of downstream issues. Worth noting: both times my vehicle was ready in under an hour, which I've been told doesn't align with the time needed to calibrate. Both the dealership and independent shops told me ADAS calibration typically needs 3-5 hours. Within a week, the pre-sense error came back. Then things got worse. My seatbelt locked up and pinned me to the seat mid-drive. Another day, the car failed to recognize my key fob was inside the vehicle. A follow-up scan showed fault codes across the board: the SOS button housing, the key fob, the light sensor, rain sensor, and Audi pre-sense. I called Apex and explained everything, including that I'd taken the car to an Audi dealership and two other independent shops, all of whom said I'd likely need OEM glass, since Audi's ADAS cameras can be sensitive to non-OEM glass. I was assured at booking that calibration was included, and felt dismissed raising these issues. The team claimed the dealership was just trying to make money off me and said the other issues were unrelated. Dealerships are known for that, sure, but when two independent shops back the same claim, it's not an easy dismissal. It also doesn't add up, since my car had zero issues before this replacement and everything started right after. While looking back through their reviews, I found another customer on Yelp who described the exact same problem: a windshield replacement with no actual calibration performed. I have photos backing up my own diagnostics. My latest call took place just over a week and a half ago, ending with my info being passed to the GM to determine how to proceed. I'm hoping to hear back soon so we can resolve this amicably.

I recently needed a windshield replacement for my 2015 Nissan Rogue after a rock chip quickly…read morespread into a crack well over six inches long. The crack continued growing throughout the day, making replacement unavoidable. I shopped around and received quotes from several companies: +Pulidos Auto Glass: $427.59 +Apple Glass Company: $429.93 +Safelite AutoGlass: $496.54 I ultimately chose Pulidos Auto Glass, and I'm glad I did. They were able to install my new windshield the very next day at the best price. Before scheduling, I asked John Pulido a long list of questions about the windshield manufacturer, DOT certification, acoustic glass, molding, warranty, mobile service, and installation details. Instead of giving vague answers, he answered everything directly and professionally. He even checked my VIN before discussing specifications and confirmed my Rogue required an acoustic windshield. John explained that the replacement glass could come from manufacturers such as Pilkington, PGW, Fuyao, or AGC. After verifying my vehicle, he confirmed he would be installing a Pilkington acoustic windshield, which I was very happy to hear. The installation was performed at my home, which made the entire process incredibly convenient. My appointment was scheduled for 12:00 PM, and John actually arrived slightly early. The installation moved quickly and efficiently, and by 12:37 PM he was already calling me to let me know the work was completed. The new windshield included: +Pilkington acoustic glass +DOT-certified construction +Solar band +New molding +Mobile installation +Labor warranty John took care to protect the vehicle's interior and dashboard during the installation and cleaned up everything afterward. There was no mess left behind. He also explained the curing process clearly, including leaving the tape on the windshield for 24 hours before removing it. Most importantly, the finished product has been excellent. There have been no leaks, rattles, wind noise, or any other issues since the replacement. Overall, Pulidos Auto Glass delivered exactly what I was looking for: quality glass, knowledgeable service, mobile convenience, excellent communication, and a fair price. I saved money compared to both Apple Glass and Safelite while receiving a high-quality Pilkington acoustic windshield installed at my home. If you need a windshield replacement in Houston, I would absolutely recommend John Pulido and Pulidos Auto Glass.

Me and my wife made an appointment to have my right passenger window replaced. Before he started, I…read morespecifically told him I was worried about someone scratching or damaging my car. He reassured me and said he had been doing this for 15 years, so I trusted him. Then he calls me and tells me he BROKE THE BRAND NEW window while installing it and scratched my car in the process. While finishing up putting my old window back in, I brought up the scratch and he acted like it was nothing and said he could fix it. He then said, "What if I go around the Tesla and find other scratches?" basically trying to justify the damage he caused. He even said he would scratch his own car if that would make me feel better. He finished putting my OLD cracked window back in, meaning I was still stuck with the same cracked window I was paying to have replaced. Then he starts talking about how he normally doesn't come out on Sundays and says I should go to someone else because now he would be breaking even. Then he tells me if I want him to come back, I would have to pay him MORE. He also told me I'm complaining like his girlfriend. That's when I told him to get the f out. He left. After he left, I checked the car and found out the passenger speaker wasn't working. I also found the piece holding the speaker to the door was broken. So I trusted this guy because he claimed to have 15 YEARS of experience, specifically warned him about damaging my car, and somehow ended up with the same cracked window, a scratched car, and additional damage to my speaker and door. Complete waste of time and money. Now I have to repair the door trim and the speaker and the window
