I have been a patient here for a little over a year. In that year I have set appointments oly to sow up and find out the doctor was not in the office and the staff forgot to call me the day before. Just this morning I showed up for my 9 am appointment that dr. Mitchell had me set up 6 on this ago only to sit n the waiting room for 1 hr 45 min before I had to go to another appointment. I was told the doctor was running late. She got in about 10:20. When I asked if I could come back after my next appointment I was told the doctor only had morning appoints today and would not work the afternoon. I can not express my frustration at the attitudes and complete lack of respect sown to patients. Needless to say I will be changing my physician immediately and fling a compliant with my insurance provider. read more

This office is terrible! If only you could half stars Dr. Mitchells Staff are definitely undertrained when it comes to customer service. When I 1st called to set up an appointment, the manager answered the phone and told me to call back when they were off of lunch. Excuse me? Why did you even answer the phone if its that crucial? The 2nd time I called I set up my appointment after the office manager continuously cut me off during the conversation. She didn't give me any instructions about my appointment, just simply show up. I took it upon myself to arrive 30 mins early because when you are a new patient doctor's offices always have you feel out a book of paperwork. After receiving my paper work the administrative staff told me she needed my id and insurance card. I then informed her that I didn't have my physical insurance card but I did have a copy. She then said we can't see you then. WHAT?! She said it was a CA Law that you have to have the physical copy. OH REALLY, A LAW? Clearly that was some B.S. The office manager then got involved saying that the hard copy is a must. I told them that they could easily take my copy and drivers license and verify that my insurance was valid. Just like they would do if they had the "PHYSICAL Copy". She said no. I then informed them that I desperately needed my chest scanned because I am having chest pains. I am in CA for work and my card is in TX and could they please just call and verify my insurance. The administrative assistant then said well you don't need a scan you need to go to the emergency room. EXCUSE ME, Are you a doctor?! I informed her that I had been to the hospital and they told me to follow up with a doctor. Even when i had the Insurance company on the phone the said they would not talk to them they need the actual card. Or my insurance could fax a copy. (Oh you mean the same copy you would receive as the one I'm holding in my hand) SERIOUSLY?! Of course my insurance would not do that, but that offered to email it. The manager said they don't do emails. You don't do emails but you do Fax machines? is it not 2015?! So on behalf of Dr. Mitchells staff, make sure you have your Physical Card. Because even if your standing in front of them, grabbing your chest, holding a copy of your card, with the insurance company on the phone, with tears in your eyes....THEY AINT (managers word) GOING TO SEE YOU. By the way I didn't have the pleasure of meeting Dr. Mitchell but I can only imagine what type of person she is by how her staff carries themselves. read more

I moved to Los Angeles and needed to find a new physician. Based upon the recommendation of a friend, I made an appointment with Dr. Mitchell. She is pleasant, thorough, caring, straightforward and focused on prevention. I had a great visit with her today. I have found my new doctor! read more

Dr. Mitchell is a fantastic Doctor. She has been my primary physician for a number of years. However, I ran into a real health challenge about a year ago. Not only did she see me quickly, but in order to track my progress, she gave me her personal cell phone number.A couple of days later my situation turned south when I was texting her my blood pressure and heart rate. She called me immediately because she was concerned that my heart rate was elevated and informed me that I needed to get to the emergency room immediately because I was in tachycardia. When I got to the emergency room at Marina Del Rey Hospital they were waiting for me. Dr. Mitchell had informed them that I was on my way, and the emergency room doctor, who had been her mentor while she was in training, took charge of my case. Dr. Mitchell made sure I was well taken care of while I went through this medical challenge. She is my doctor for life! read more

Dr. Anitha Mitchell has been my doctor for over 30 years, and she's like family to me, she always took her time talking with me and she knew what she was doing, I owe so much to her. Years ago I agree it was horrible to go see her, the staff I felt was very rude and I hated dealing with them, the wait time was unbelievable, and they got information wrong at times, I was so dissatisfied with them but I loved Dr. Mitchell. I prayed about it and at one of my appointments I decided to speak with Dr. Mitchell about my concerns, they were well accepted and a few months later I could see a change in the wait time and in the attitude of her staff, all the ladies were nice and would speak and seemed to be more concerned. I'm sure this change wasn't just because of me, I know others must have complained as well. Anyway I am considering going to Kaiser Permanente and it's because I've been hearing a lot of positive things about them, unlike years ago, if your doctor is out or in emergency came up they will give you another doctor so you don't have to go to urgent care and that the approval process and how things are done are as easy as 1,2,3. I don't want to leave Dr. Mitchell, I really don't but my discuss is with the health plan, "Premier Physicians Network" I've had other small issues but recently I accidentally cut nerves/tendons in my finger, not sure which because of the mix up with the medical office and the insurance taking so long to approve me I missed my window for surgery, then after that they took so long to extend my therapy it was too late and it would not have done me any good to go. I found out that we the patients have to follow up on everything, and if we don't we're out of luck, (something to keep in mind, your zip code plays a big part in where they send you, but you can request another zip code, eg. When I first was assigned therapy they wanted to send me to a therapist close to where I live, about 30 min from my job, they were giving me places that I couldn't find on line so I called them and we talked for a long time, that's how I found out I could give them another zip code so I gave them my work zip code and I got a therapist right around the corner from my job, in fact I walked there for treatment) I was thinking what if something major happened to me, and I couldn't follow up, then what?? I made an appointment and spoke with Dr. Mitchell and explained the situation about going to Kaiser, she understood totally and she said she would take me back, after my year of trying them out. have been a patient of Stacy Mitchell for a number of years. My last visit I was advised she would no longer be in private practice and I could switch to Anita Mitchell just advise my insurance company. I did that and called for an appointment which I was granted. The receptionist called me back and wanted to know if I had made the switch with my insurance co I assured her I had, she asked if I had my insurance cards, which I did not. I hadn't received them yet, so I was told that they were needed to be seen and she cancelled the appointment. I called the insurance company and they emailed me a letter confirming the switch and also who the physician was, not good enough. So it appears the ability to charge superceds the wellfare of the patient. The insurance co called and was advised the Dr would be in on Monday next week. And we pay for this S---!!! If I could do a negative star I would. The customer service is horrible along with the petty uncaring rules read more
