My Nonna (or, my grandmother, for the non-Italians) has recently become a gardener. Why, all of a sudden? I don't know. She's on her way out and I think she just needs something to keep her busy before she carks it (Too black? Hmm... I hope she doesn't she this...).
I think gardening is a noble pursuit, and one I've always wanted to try. But I don't want to grow my own vegetables, or anything like that. I want to create something beautiful. But I can't. I've no land in which to grow it.
Which is why I like flowers. Why's it always the girl that receives the flowers? Can't a dude get some pollen every now and again without having to find his way into terminal illness and in a hospital bed? (Goodness, this IS a dark review.)
This is a great place. The stock is varied and beautiful and the prices are reasonable. And while I've not yet succumbed to the temptation of buying flowers for myself, I HAVE bought some for milady. And she seemed pleased enough. However, after all the hints I gave her, I've yet to see any reciprocation. What a world we live in. read more
