Awesome swimming complex! We have been here on a number of occasions for swim competitions, and the facility is very impressive. There is lots of spectator and athlete seating, and the facility is clean and events are organized. There is plenty of parking as well.

This YMCA is by far the newest and cleanest. Toilets flush automatically. The showers don't smell. The ladies locker room is always spotless. Although only one hairdryer which hardly works. Their class selection is out of this world and the entire facility is legit! Indoor running loop above when you walk in. Daycare center where kids actually get attention at! Olympic style swimming pool which is huge!! Can't rave about this YMCA enough its by far the best!

I came here for the first time with a good friend of mine. We decided to get a workout in on a Friday afternoon at 5 pm. Therefore this review serves to primarily shine some light on the workout area. There is ample parking but the place was packed so we had to park in the farthest lot where the school buses were. We came to work out so walking wasn't an issue for us. The exterior of the facility looks great! It has a contemporary design and is very aesthetically pleasing. Once inside, we went upstairs to the weight room. The first I noticed were how small the lockers were. They were much smaller compared to other gyms that I've been to. When you walk in the first thing you see is a sea of cardio machines. Behind this section are the free-weights and resistance machines. Compared to the cardio area, the weight room section seemed much smaller. Granted it was a 5pm on a Friday, which can be a busy time depending on the gym, but it was very crowded. One example occurred when I was using the Smith machine. I was adjusting the weight on the bar so I could perform my set when someone, who saw me doing this, stepped in front of the machine so they could look in the mirror while doing dumbbell exercises. Again this review is only about the weight room as that is the only part of the facility that I used. Perhaps on a different day and time the experience would've been different. If you're going here solely to use the weight room, I recommend trying a different time.

We had no…read moreprior experience with working out regularly in a gym nor had we ever heard of CrossFit (which is the type of workout they use ). We quickly fell in love with both the physical challenges, service opportunities and the community and friendships we've made and have been regulars since. I'll break down the rest of the review into numbered sections for those who want more details. 1. Christian - first and foremost, the gym exists as a ministry to share the good news of Jesus Christ. This location is a branch of a gym based in Louisiana. In accordance with this, every workout begins with a 10-15 minute devotional and prayer. You do NOT have to be Christian to attend, anyone is welcome no matter whether you have no faith, another faith, or are against faith. 2. How it works - they offer FREE classes 6 days of the week(closed on Sundays). The gym runs on donations but there is absolutely NO obligation to. For those that do decide to donate regularly, there are 24/7 keys available to come workout anytime but the vast MAJORITY of people come to attend the classes. They also have a moving company(Strongmen Movers) & Christ Fit Thrift Store to support the gym. -9 AM: Monday thru Saturday -5:30 PM: Monday thru Thursday -5 AM: Tuesday & Thursday(most recent offering that began in 2024, there are plans to expand to 4 days at some point) 3. The workouts - they are CrossFit based and the classes last 60-75 minutes and it is a non-intimidating environment. People of all ages, fitness levels, injury history etc. attend and the instructors are very accommodating to tailor the workout to whatever is comfortable for you. They will demonstrate all the movements prior to the start of the workout and also roam around during the workout to provide feedback/adjustments as needed during the workout. There are 3 scaling options that are written for each workout for your current level of fitness. I can attest that many of the CrossFit exercises take months to master and are quite rewarding once they are. If you're interested in finding out more, follow them on social media(Facebook and Instagram) to stay up to date on ongoing events and information in real time!

My husband and I have been to and even worked at many gyms over our lifetime. But this place literally smells the second you open the door. We have seen ONE cleaning person work the place here and there. Not a team and not a duo or trio. The men's restroom was SO bad my husband (who grew up wrestling, football, gym guy) wouldn't even use the restroom. No TP or paper towels either. He kindly reported it to the front desk and was met with nervous laughter: "well the female restroom is good, I just checked it". What??? Sanitation AT A GYM is pretty important. And with all the Covid variants, ya might wanna hold fast on offering a clean establishment, let alone really clean. All of the front desk empress should be circulating with cleaning products and using them. Management: you should invest in a better circulation system. The temperature and stench in your gym is unreal. The back room was well over 80+ degrees when the mid day sun is beating inside the floor to ceiling g windows. It might be time for new floors and mats because that is where the smell and mold build up as well. We had family members move to the area and check out a few gyms, including this one. They had the same feedback! No way we're they going to join. It's a shame. The lay out and offerings are pretty great! We tried. We should have known better. Canceled after 7 weeks. Although PF doesn't offer the free weights and heavy lifting equipment desired, we will make it work at the clean establishment just down the street. All of the employees are circulating and cleaning, constantly.

I feel that people aren't as much of people watchers in this gym and you don't get that overwhelming 'gym anxiety' like other gyms. Everyone seems to mind their own business and aren't busy hovering over machines, pressuring you to finish you your sets faster than you have planned for. The saunas are the biggest difference, I like enjoying the Edmond locations most, N.May and South OkC are so dim lit and cramped, creeky wood, old dial machines, doesn't really feel relaxing or give you enough space to stretch your arms or legs, Edmond's location also has a private tanning room and a kids play place, big wins with those but S. Isaac is really great about encouraging me to push just a little bit harder than I would on my own, and I'm learning a lot about form and how to do different kinds of exercises. He is exactly the right speed for me in terms of his manner - I don't do well with drill sergeant types. I do best with someone like him who is positive, encouraging and warm. We talk a lot while we're working out and I always love chatting with him. He also always remembers to play my favorite music which is a very important part of any workout for me.
