It is a great place in the summer. Pull your boat up to the dock, go in for a drink. They also have horseshoes and a volleyball court. The snowmobile trail goes right by in the winter. I got the Pollock and fries, thinking that if they call the fish by name, it can't be frozen pre packaged fish sticks. They were pretty good, and different sizes and thick with a good batter. Turns out that most fish sticks are made from Pollock. The TV was turned to the GSN (gameshow network) where Bob Barker was being handed a lifetime achievement award and I thought: a) he is still alive? and b) there is a gameshow network? Our server kept the kids drinks full as well as our beers full. Before we left we got to meet the owners and both of them where very nice and shared some information about their great smoked meats they're so proud of. Cheese curds come with two dipping sauces, ranch and chipotle-ranch choices. The broasted chicken is my favorite in the area, but not served on Fridays. Fridays they have a fish fry. The Local is my favorite bar in the Webster/Spooner area…read more They have a great selection of beer and liquor, plus fun events and a ton of games (the quarter game, pool, Big Buck Hunter, Golden Tee, etc...). I recently hosted a Bachelorette party at my cabin and brought the group of girls to the Local. The owner, Mike, did everything he could to make it a special night for us - even giving us a microphone and letting us belt our hearts out to all our favorite music we were playing on the juke box. The only bummer is they don't have a kitchen. They do have a food truck on certain nights (check their Facebook page) and also a variety of frozen pizzas. Great place!
