This is a typically shabby bar just over the Wisconsin border in St Croix Falls. They even still allow smoking inside! I first came here with a very close friend, so this place has special meanings for me. It was nice to stop and recapture that wonderful time in my life. But alas, good things must end, but The Kassel Tap carries on. Actually, this is a classy dive bar. They have 2 kinds of pickled eggs ----- SPICY & NOT SPICY, enough said. When we first walked up, it was clearly a dive and we were wondering if we would feel unwelcome because we are not locals. Absolutely not the case! Steve got us drinks and Kevin, the owner, chatted us up and made us feel like regulars. His mom was there watching a soap opera with some friends and she shared some delicious homemade cake with us. Kevin dropped $5 in the juke box for us to listen to some songs and made us The Best Pizza! Cheeseburger with extra pickles. There is a reason it has won awards! We are the whole thing! The bar area has a fantastic lakefront view but the outside is awesome too. There is a stage area for a band and plenty of outdoor seating if you want to keep your distance from others but still enjoy getting out and about. When COVID-19 goes away, this would be a perfect place to get back to normal!

Good pizza?? Ive had better pizza from a gas station in a pinch. I'm pretty sure there was no fresh ingredients on it, even had canned mushrooms. Drinks are cheap & strong, rail drinks around $3.50 & rest is up to $5 unless you get doubles! Usually have 5 beers on tap (Busch light, Coors light, surly furious, a light specialty & a dark specialty) Beer Bottles vary with stock but always have the usuals. Touch tunes are available, and usually always playing, except for when wheel of fortune is on! Tables are limited, but the bar top has a lot of seating and history. Outdoor patio for smoking, and occasional music. Not exactly cleanly but super friendly :)
