we were driving from BC coast to the east coast in a camper/pleasure Van…read more we ran into a problem outside of Sault Ste Marie. arranging for a tow truck, phoning every mechanic listed through our warranty plan, we called Sault Ste Marie transmission, as someone suggested the noise the van as making could be transmission issues. every shop was totally booked until the end of May...this was May 16 th. Friday afternoon of the long week end. we took our chances and got towed to Sault transmissions. despite telling us that they couldn't possibly look at it for weeks. they took us right in and within a very short time found our issue....a spark plug blew right thru the case, and needed to be re tooled, which they could not do as they did not have equipment for this process. It is now Tues. our Van and us are still waiting at the Ford dealership for repair. the care and action of this transmission shop was above anything we have encountered and goes to show we still have special and kind people among us. we want to thank Bill and Carlos for wonderful experience in the midst of a near crisis for two senior ladies trying to finish their bucket list on one more adventure....thank you Sault Transmission, you do care

My daughter's car's engine light came on and she is attending Lake Superior State University some…read more350 miles from home. Being a father this was very concerning due to the fact I couldn't check it out myself and I know very little of the area in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. So I went on the internet and found some reviews that were recommending Storey Automotive while my daughter also asked a couple of locals where to take the car. Both of them highly recommended Storey also. You know the old saying when in Rome go where the locals go. Boy oh boy was that the correct thing to do. I am disabled so making that trip and to haul my tools that I have just to look at the car was out of the question, so my daughter made the appointment so she could drop off the car in between classes and we braced ourselves for a repair bill that frankly we couldn't really afford but I had to know my daughter had to have reliable transportation because breaking down where sometimes you might be 20 miles or more from cell service or people and temperatures that go down to -40 or more with winter coming soon isn't an option. Well thank God it turned out to be an emissions code that had no bearing on the car's reliability whatsoever. (Later we replaced the gas cap because a friend said he had the same thing happen and it seems to have fixed the issue). But when I called up to Storey to pay whatever she owed him for his work in diagnosing the car and making sure her car wasn't going to leave her stranded, I was promptly told she owed them ZERO! I believe the man's name is John if memory serves told me he doesn't charge for little things like that and he especially not charging college kids for something that took him 5 mins to check out and make sure they were safe. Now I have on many occasions been accused of being over protective and very anal about making sure my girls cars are as perfect as we can make them, so I was really concerned ove rthe check engine light. But when I talked to John he assured me everything was fine and on older cars even though it only has 47k miles on it will occasionally have small things pop up with emission codes that mean nothing to the cars ability to run right and if she had anymore issues with it coming back on to have her stop in and he would take care of it. I don't know if John knows what it means to a parent whose kids is 350 miles from home for the first time. Especially a young lady to have someone that will make sure their vehicle is in safe and sound condition and also not try to take advantage of a young lady who knows very little about cars except put gas in it and check the tires and oil or her parents that can't be there to look after things. Then to hear a Automotive repair guy say no charge if she has any more trouble or any questions about the car just have her stop in and I will check it out and let her know what's what. That to me is priceless!! His advertisement says family owned and I absolutely believe that the they should change it to become part of their family because they treated my daughter as if she was their daughter. Thank You Everyone at Storey Automotive, for being there for my daughter when I can't be. Also if your ever down state in the Tri City Area and need help look me up I absolutely owe you one.

This place is now located on Great Northern Rd. , , had my vehicle in here for a supposedly power…read moresteering motor leak they replaced the motor , but there was still a leak , I brought it back told them it was leaking they charged me 30 bucks for engine wash and 10 $ for shampoo I forgot about it, trusting them, but it still was leaking but didn't realize until I checked fluid levels and it was empty brought it back hoping they would own up to it they told me the hose is now leaking and the transmission hoses all of a sudden have leaks, to the total bill was going to be 700 I could not afford this i was not expecting this much work , they charged me 88$ just to tell me that the hose is leaking nothing was taking apart , also to note Canadian Tire only charges u 24$ to inspect if u decide to take away and not repair. Never go back there

Recently Classic Automotive charged me a significant amount to ostensibly change the timing belt in…read moremy car. Last week another garage changed the timing belt, giving me a photograph of the old cracked timing belt that was in the car (and a photo of the new timing belt they installed). Also, on closer inspection, many of the other services charged by Classic Automotive had not performed nor new parts installed. This has taught me to pay much closer attention to any automotive services provided, and to never do business with Classic Automotive again.

So I dropped it off. You'd imagine that if I didn't know leaving it in 4 wheel drive would make a noise while turning that I would be an easy mark. RANT.. if you have vehicle issues I do NOT recommend quality…read moreautomotive. First they had my jeep, it was overheating. They didn't fix/look at the thermostat which was the actual problem (thanks to an actual mechanic). What they did was shave some rust off of the bottom of a pipe under the jeep, and said that's what was causing it to overheat. I got my jeep to leave, and no more than half a mile down the road it was already overheating again. My husband took his truck there, against our better judgment, and they did nothing. It hasn't been starting, but they claim it started just fine for them, so they didn't need to look any further. Their actual wording on the paperwork was "no recommendations". Real quality work they do.. I wouldn't even give them 1/2 a star. Their customer service was extremely rude, which frustrated us.
