I would give this 0 stars if that was available. My SUV broke down late one night, having dealt with a Mr. T in Toronto, I thought it would be a good deal to leave it with the "experts" . I got a ride back to Mississauga and called the next morning and spoke to "Jessie", He told me they would look at it asap and call me with an update. About a week goes by and I hear nothing and decide to call for my update; they had done nothing except the test drive on the first day to tell me it was broken. I already knew that.
A few days the following week and they have had a better look and a price "A box rebuild kit $2600" Well, that seemed like a canned response so I asked for options "$1000 re and re plus parts" That seemed more palatable. I was promised my vehicle by the end of the week with an update Thursday night as I told him I would like it for Friday pickup as I would be in Barrie. No call Thursday. My Friday had to be planned around whether or not my vehicle was to be ready Friday. I called and got an update. "A cross member part was ordered wrong and and instead of 200, it's now 700 and won't be available for 2 weeks" I told them to MacGyver it and see what they could do. All day it took but he did promise me a loner if it wasn't ready; despite Jessie knowing that I was without a vehicle for two weeks, this was the first he mentioned a courtesy car even though their site states "Free courtesy car". They managed to get my truck running and I picked it up later in the afternoon.
I told Jessie days before that I would be coming up Friday via GO train and the first train in to Barrie was 5:15 at Allendale. I was on the train heading north and it wasn't 5:16 that he called my cell and asked where I was "Just leaving the south Barrie station, we'll be there shortly" He told me he wanted to beat traffic as he lives in Toronto. Gee, I'm sorry, I just took a 1 hour and 40 min train ride, sorry for your inconvenience.
Two weeks later and only a few hundred kilometers, I'm at work and the truck will not go in to gear. I called Jessie and he tells me he cannot do anything for me as he's closing at noon. This is around 10 am. Things get heated; "If I pay you $3000 for a repair job, I expect it to last for more than a couple hundred clicks. Come pick this up and bring me a courtesy car now" There were many expletives from me and the Princess told me not to swear at him because he was interrupting me at almost every chance. He actually asked me to crawl underneath the SUV to check out what was going on as I was a mechanic. "I'm a motorcycle mechanic and why would I pay you to have ME diagnose what you people fucked up?" So the Princess Jessie decided to try to play the "you're lucky I'm even talking to you" game. I reminded him of the "Nationwide Warranty" and he told me of the closest shop to where I was. and he would send a tow truck.
Jessie loves taking your money. He talks a great game but he and this shop failed to do the right thing on many fronts and when dealing with an angry customer, he gets his tiara on and is insulted and hangs up.
Do yourselves a favour and DO NOT DEAL with this shop. If you know ANYTHING about cars, you will have one up on them. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED.
EDIT - I did end up going underneath my truck after work and saw that they had NOT replaced a worn shift arm that had a corroded post where they attached the shift cable. Re-attaching it did not work as it was completely worn. The monkey who did the repair SHOULD HAVE seen this and replaced the 5 dollar part, instead, he gets the customer abandoned and offers zero help, is rude and puts his dress on and does his Princess act because someone swore at him because he likes to interrupt and asks YOU to diagnose his fuck up.
The shift arm was repaired in 45 minutes by a highly qualified mechanic that does not work for Barrie Mr. Transmission. read more
