My niece suggested I contact her stylist, Caroline Mitgang at Chair Salon, and I am so lucky. Chair is a wonderful neighborhood salon and Caroline is everything one hopes for in a stylist--friendly, youthful, patient, energetic, perceptive, kind and SUPER talented. My hair looks GREAT--she nailed the color as well as the cut--but she also somehow managed to give it her own special touch--a little bit of bounce or something that makes me smile. I can't say when, but I will absolutely be back.

I think they have 3-4 chairs, but usually only 1-2 people working when I tend to go in later in the day times, which is nice and quiet. Big windows, a clean space and nice people. The last I saw they do walk-ins as well. Stylists are currently wearing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic and hand sanitizer is there . Recommended.

As someone who has had a vet horrible hair cut experience, I dread trying to find the one to take a chance on and willingly go months or years waiting to find the right one. I took that chance with Starz and didn't ask for anyone in particular but I just so happen to get placed with the perfect stylist, Chrystal! She listened and gave me the exact cut I was looking for. She's so sweet and personable and great to chat with. Before you know it, your are in and out. The price is a little high for a cut ($45), but I will gladly pay it again and again knowing I won't walk out looking like a butchered sheep dog. I highly recommend Chrystal for your hair needs.

I wanted blonde highlights, and ended up with chunky, bleached (we're talking white) highlights that were spotty, at best. Let's not discuss my cut. No, wait, we should. I wanted long layers, and ended up with a frizzy, razored mess of fine hair. Not even this, but the back was so uneven that people were commenting on it at work. I had to have it redone, went somewhere new, and only told them I needed a touch-up and trim. They immediately asked if I had cut my own hair and dyed it myself. I had to admit that I actually paid quite a bit for it. Needless to say, I never did go back, nor would I recommend this place for anything other than a low cost mani/pedi or tanning packages.
