My car was effed ups. There was snow caked on the wheel wells so bad I could hear my tires hitting it when I drove, and my car was going wobbitywop on the freeway. I pulled up here, the chick told me, after I specifically asked, that yes indeed they would be able to get all the muck off. I went through, and their neon blue lights were fun while I had Ice Cube blasting in my car, telling me to chiggitty check myself before I wreck myself. Purely a coincidence, but what a good one amiright? Wash finishes. I ask the dude standing outside waving me through, "Did all the ice come off?" He says "Yep! It's all off!" That felt super suss... so I decided to stop and look before pulling away. When I got out and looked, all I could do was laugh. Not only was NONE of the snow off, but there was now a massive, frozen, pink soap splooge on the roof of my car. I got the dude and was like, "Dude...". He immediately went into "I don't know why those girls at the front tell people we can get that off, our pipes are almost frozen we can't guarantee ANYTHING right now!" Fair play. The chick walked over and offered a refund. That was cool. I accepted. I asked why they were open if all their employees are freezing like that, and aren't able to do a good job through no fault of their own. They didn't have an answer. That's okay. The guy who returned with my card and refund receipt was super nice and apologetic. I thanked them all profusely for being so nice. Had it been a nice sunny day, the car wash would've been fine. Go here if you want your car damaged and then have the company refuse to take responsibility. I brought my 2024 Buick Encore to Mister Car Wash because I wanted to take care of my car. After my wash, I noticed that the silver trim around the rear passenger-side window had come off. When I contacted Mister Car Wash, I was told that there was supposedly already a gap in the trim before I entered the wash and that they could not take responsibility for damage that was allegedly "made worse." I take very good care of my car and regularly clean and maintain it. It has not been in an accident or sustained any damage that would explain an issue in this area. I also had no reason to believe there was a problem with the trim before entering the wash. What is especially frustrating is that I went to Mister Car Wash specifically to take care of my vehicle, and instead I left with a damaged piece of my car and a company unwilling to take responsibility for what happened. I understand that companies have policies regarding pre-existing damage, but simply claiming there was already a gap does not address what happened to my car during the wash. I expected better from a company whose entire business is built around caring for people's vehicles. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Mister Car Wash if you expect them to stand behind their service when something goes wrong. read more

I signed up for monthly plan. I'm only in town for a couple of months. I asked the attendant if the plan was auto pay monthly or is it auto renewed. He said it was auto renewed. I asked him how do a cancel when I leave town. He said call the phone number. I asked what number? Do you have a pamphlet I can have to use? Nope. don't have those. He said Google it. Fine. I get into the car wash and the tall brush on the RH side doesn't work, so the right side of my car doesn't get cleaned. When I get out, I asked where the cleaning cloths and cleaners were. He said, we don't have those. You have to go to our other location. So, I drove the 10 min to another location, and guess what. No cleaners. This car wash is a joke. Obviously poorly managed. I do not recommend them. I called their customer service and was told the reason they don't have towels and spray bottles to clean the glass is because of COVID. Here's the context: -- Cross-country road trip, with some EPIC road salt caked all over my little VW. He was looking pretty shabby. -- Pulled in to this joint and paid $14 for the Platinum. (Cool part: the change machine will give you change in actual BILLS, and not a Big Gulp's worth of quarters.) -- The young dude who met me inside the automated wash seemed genuinely helpful and friendly -- which was much appreciated. (He even showed my boy Blue some love.) -- BEST PART: the shiny, happy results! I was prepared to go through this wash twice -- that's how bad my car was. But after just one pass ... he was GORGEOUS. This company is again snapping photographs of customer's license plate numbers AND their customers sitting in their vehicles. First and foremost, I have never been a fan of of this facility. Whenever I have had my car washed at Mister Carwash, a dirty "missed" spot always remains on the back end; dead center. Then they raised their rates (for a half-ass/better than nothing job). Final straw: The cashiers are again photographing customer's cars ... like it or not. They do not warn you; they do not ask permission. They just do it. And when this happened to me today, I objected. I told the cashier there was no reason to record a picture of my car, my license plate numbers, and me sitting behind the wheel of my vehicle. This a complete invasion of privacy. This is not a bank, it is a carwash. The cashier stated this was "required" for their new system. Required? I paid for the highest package available so the interior would be vacuumed and my undercarriage would be washed, however there was still dust everywhere on my dash and seats and mud on the underside of my truck. My wheels were completely untouched and my mirrors and windows were streaky. I have never been so disappointed in a car wash in my life. With how much Mister Carwash charges there shouldn't be any disappointment in their wash. All they do is rush to get you through and then spray some air freshener in your car to make you think it's actually clean. read more

The ONLY thing DELUXE about my Car Wash was the RIP OFF! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY Purchased the "Deluxe Car Wash" Package! After paying to have my car cleaned, both inside and out, I was thoroughly disappointed to see that all 4 doors still had dog prints on them, the floor mats and seats in the 2nd and 3rd rows still had dog hair on them, and the rear view mirror was still spotted and streaked. I had an appointment at Karl Chevrolet and noticed the dirt on the front passenger side door as I drove the 20 minutes to Ankeny. I thought perhaps they had missed the one spot in the car, then noticed the rear view mirror. Again, two small spots that I can quickly and easily clean up before the installation of my new car mats. I ran inside the parts department and purchased a spray bottle of car cleaner and received a free microfiber cloth with the purchase (only good part of the day!) As I went out to clean the two spots, I started to remove the mats in preparation for the new mats. When I opened the back door I was faced with the same dirty car I drove into Mister Car Wash With. At that point, I cancelled my floor mat instillation so I could go back and have Mister Car Wash correct their oversight. Upon returning to Mister Car Wash (within the hour), I was asked to provide proof via my receipt before the Manager would come speak with me. I had the receipt, much to his dismay. When I showed him the mud in the Drivers side door (I had cleaned the 3 others before I was upset enough to decide to bring the car back to show him how dirty it still was) he replied, "Oh I see that". Then I opened the back door and showed him all the dog hair. His reply to the dog hair was, "Our vacuums are not strong enough to get dog hair off of car seats." After a bit more discussion where the vacuum mantra was repeated about 4 times I became irate. I raised my voice and yelled that I was going to let everyone know how horrible the service was and that I was never coming back again. Yes, I admit I cussed, but being told a car wash didn't have vacuums strong enough to pick up dog hair is just ridiculous! It was at this point that the manager wanted to "take my car and wipe up the mud"...notice...not a thing said about the dog hair.... YEAH... THEY SUCK! ****UPDATE**** Corporate just decided to call me to try to "understand what happened" with my service yesterday. Let's just say he was concerned with the girl who took my car wash order??? WHAT??? That's not what caused the commotion for me. I told him exactly what I wrote above, and his concern was the name of the package I purchased.... which on the receipt reads: FS Platinum Package. I paid $34.97 for said package, where I believe the FS is to stand for "Full Service"...which should really read "F*cking Shitty". When I kept telling the Corporate office person that I wasn't upset until I was "treated like dog poop under the managers shoe" he still didn't get that this complaint is about the lack of CUSTOMER SERVICE, I had to spell it out to him. I told him, "I understand that this problem, to you, represents the fact that the wrong package was sold to me, but that's YOUR PROBLEM. To me, the problem is that I was put off and treated like dog crap on the bottom of someones shoe. I wasn't even offered any options to make the problem right until after I lost my temper. I never once thought that the manager, upon seeing the dirt and dog hair left in my car, wouldn't offer to make things right. I've worked customer service for many years, and I have always followed company policy when dealing with an irate customer. I hardly believe that being treated like dog crap under someones shoe is the policy for Mister Car Wash, is it? Is that your policy at Mister Car Wash? His reply, "Our policy is to educate the customer on our services so they understand what comes with each wash." My reply, "Well, that didn't happen with me. Unless you consider, "our vacuum cleaners don't collect dog hair" to be your way of educating me. Is that how you educated people? I doubt it." His reply, "I just want to make this situation right." My reply, "There is no way to make this situation right. To me the situation is that I was treated poorly. That the customer service I received was shit. You want to give me a free car wash? Well there is no way I will go back to receive crappy service like that again, where I spend $34 and still have to clean my car by myself after your company is finished. This car wash is ok. Most of the vacuums are full most of the time. I have found that the second spot from the left has the best suction and sometimes the 3rd spot from the right is ok. The car wash itself is pretty good until the end. It always hits my passenger side mirror. I saw some guys working on it and had unbolted it from the ground to move it and I thought it was going to fix it, but it seems they moved it closer to the car so now it scrapes the mirror instead of just moving it. I brought it up to one of the employees and they said there is no way to change it. I felt like that was a lie since I had just seen men working on it a couple weeks before. I've seen it hit a lot of other people's mirror on that side as well. To fix the mirror a lot of us usually park right at the end of the wash, jump out and fix it quick before driving off or park at the next business to fix it. That business has a warning sign about using their parking lot for that reason so it's affecting them as well. The people who have it best are those who have electric mirrors that fold and unfold with a button. The thing that really brings this place down though is the employees who motion you forward. They move you up right behind the next car very quickly and make you get uncomfortably close. The worst part is they get angry with you if you don't keep moving forward, but I'm not going to get closer than I'm comfortable with in my expensive car. I've also seen them act this way with other customers. I've stopped going to this location. This place would be 5 stars if they just fixed the blowers that hit everyone's side mirror, emptied the vacuums, and stopped the employees from making us get too close to the car in front and don't get angry. read more

Absolutely worst car wash I've ever been to. Purchased the #2 wash, which was $19.99 and was supposed to include a hand-presoak, machine wash, undercarriage wash, hand towel dry, interior dusting and vacuum and windows cleaned. I watched from the window as the young guy used the hand wand to soak the door jams (and consequently the interior in the back of my car). When the car was returned to me, the rear seat was soaked and the rubber floor mats had been rinsed/washed (as requested), but reinstalled while also still dripping wet. Interior dash space was NOT dusted at all. Vacuuming is spotty at best. Worst of all, the guys stood around like they were expecting a tip. I'll never be back. read more

12/23/14. 1:00pm I normally go to the Ingersoll location, but i knew i wouldn't make it in time after work, so i used the Johnston location. The girls that greeted me could not have been any sweeter, as well as the cashier. I paid the extra $5 to get the inside done as well. I dont know why anyone even bothered. The inside still had my morning coffee i accidentally spilled on the driver door, the trunk was not sprayed out which was my main reason for going, the mats weren't even wet, which who doesn't want their mats washed in the inside. To top it off on my way hime i couldn't see out of windshield due to a dirty rag used to wipe it down. Very disappointed, and will not return to this location. read more

I haven't used the car wash this month and am in the process of getting rid of the vehicle that was being used. They gave me the number to corporate to ask them for a refund since it had already came out for this month and they told me that they don't refund money even though I haven't used their car wash this month. I have used MCW on S Merle Hay several times and each time I have gone there, I have been very disappointed. I always say I'm never going back, but yet I do, because it's the closest one to me. I went there a week ago on a Sunday and got right through, no lines to wait in! I purchased the Platinum pkg ($35). I have Weather Tech floor mats in the front and back of my SUV. Well, my mistake for thinking this, I thought they would clean the floor mats, nope, they hosed them down and left water in the grooves and, they only hosed down the front! I could see the water freezing in the grooves and me slipping getting in & out. They did not vacuum, wipe the leather seats down, clean the dashboard, my windows were so streaky, I had to go home and re-do them. They didn't clean the door base or wipe it dry so my doors don't freeze shut. Note: the reason for spending $35! Since this is the third time I have been ripped off by them, I can guarantee you that I will NEVER go back there again, I don't care if they're convenient or not. Took my 2004 Acura MDX in for a carpet shampooing, seats cleaning, interior cleaning expecting afterwards to find that I could have done the same thing for $125 less ($150 for all that plus a wash). What I got back was amazing. That poor SUV has been through a lot since we got it in 2006. It's had a handful of cleanings over the years but not much since our 4 kids. So yeah, 4 kids plus 2 adults have all but destroyed the interior and exterior. I can't speak for other Mister Car Wash locations as this was our first time and only the Merle Hay location does the carpet shampooing. The staff were nice and accommodating and patient since I had to leave the car there all day while I was at work. They performed close to a miracle (only Jesus performs true miracles) and we couldn't be happier! Oh and during the wash they must have been able to remove the yellow paint from the black bumper from uh... gently hitting a parking bollard a long time ago. read more

Went into the Merle Hay location Sunday at noon. When I left I discovered my Oakley sunglasses weren't in the dash where I ALWAYS leave them. I searched throughout my truck. I remembered seeing the driver going through the car wash looking in my center console. I called and spoke with the manager and told him I believed an employee stole my sunglasses. After "interviewing" his employees, he believes I'm mistaken. So I'm out $180 sunglasses. Warning to everyone. Either wash your own vehicle, or remove anything not nailed down or they will steal it. read more

They didn't charge us extra but got rid of all the dog fur (white dog + black upholstery = huge mess). There's still dust on the dash, carpet didn't get vacuumed at all, chip holders still have crumbs in them. They piled dirty shoes on the back seat, so if they even wiped the leather off it was pointless because it's filthy! Then I find a plastic piece from my car, that they apparently dislodged from somewhere, just laying on the back seat!! Wth?? ...my car is a 2017 jeep so not like it's just falling apart & then no one even said anything!!! I called the store, got voicemail which got no response. I called their customer service line & was assured that the manager would call me & that I could bring my car back in. Like I EVER want to take my car back to this place??? Are you kidding.
