So, I wouldn't recommend visiting at night, as you never know what you may encounter. The Grafitti wall was much more longer than I thought it would be! The vibrant colors from various artists that join together to create a complete picture was truly astounding. It's actually so inspiring to see so many different artists working together, incorporating their own unique styles to create one single piece of artwork. If I took a few minutes to really take in and admire each grafitti, finishing the wall would take HOURS! I was skeptical that this mural was worth the trip to an abandoned area, but I'm truly so glad that I came to see this beauty. If you're in Saint Louis, you have to come take a look!

From Saturday mornings wandering around the Market to late night bites and brews after Blues hockey games in one of the booths at International Tap House, Soulard has always felt like a warm security blanket to me. Of course today is the day that is most synonymous with Soulard, and walking around the neighborhood you are welcomed with splashes of purple, green and gold hanging from windows and balconies... All screaming "LET THE GOOD TIMES ROLL!" Each year, Soulard hosts one of the most well attended parades in the United States. And every year, the neighborhood shows our country that St. Louis knows how to throw a party. Whether you're smashed against the barricades screaming for beads or enjoying one of the amazing events inside the Bud Light tent in Soulard Market park, this neighborhood welcomes party goers with open arms. But Mardi Gras parties aren't the only reason I love Soulard. There's so much history and character living along the streets within the boundaries of this picturesque neighborhood. Plaques adorn homes and businesses throughout Soulard giving passersby a quick lesson about the stories of the neighborhood's past. One of my personal favorite parts of Soulard is found at the corner of 13th and Pestalozzi Street. The iron eagle above the street screams St. Louis history. Most mornings you can snap a selfie with Anheuser-Busch's iconic dalmations and clydesdales! It feels like rubbing elbows with St. Louis royalty. The residents of Soulard have created one of the most tight knit communities in the entire city. Everyone says hello as they walk their pups and drink ice cold Budweisers all summer long. Golf carts blare music adding to the electric atmosphere each night. And neighbors regularly help one another like shoveling sidewalks and sharing meals. Soulard. I love you!

Parking can be limited and a bit tricky to find, and while the area is lively, it's worth staying aware of your surroundings, especially at night. Overall, Cherokee Street is a fun, diverse place for food and culture lovers. Just plan ahead for parking and stay mindful of your surroundings, and you'll have a great experience.

Created by artist Igor Mitoraj this piece oils from Roman and Greek mythologies which it accurately portrays. When my family and I stumbled across this piece in august 2018 i immediately said "I bet that's a geek god or goddess". This bronze figure is a popular photo op for the downtown Saint Louis area and neat several other really cool sculptures and not too far of a walk from popular and famed gateway arch of Saint Louis. Overall very awesome and fun piece. Me and the family all loved it and the fun photo op that came with it.

This is a really lovely neighbourhood in St Louis which has been seeing something of an urban resurgence and Renaissance around here, but it is still possibly the highest crime city in America and one of the highest crime cities in the world by many yardsticks, whatever a yardstick is. So this neighbourhood isn't safe by the standards of other cities, but it's not too bad by St Louis standards. And it's lovely, and I hang out here whenever I'm in town. We like the ice cream here, there's a Ted Drewe's not too far away too.

Walking up to it, I thought that it was just a clever netting-shaped artwork but that's the lattice for all the ivy and climbing plants to enjoy. So far, not much growth but come back in a few years. There are lights in the lattice and there is a brick area that will be great for an outdoor dining area. I look forward to seeing it expand.
