I feel obligated to warn others that my experience was unprofessional and uncomfortable.I've had very safe, positive colonic experiences elsewhere and this was different. From the start, nothing about this experience felt right. When I arrived, the door was locked, I knocked and was let inside, and the lobby was practically empty--just a few books stacked on the floor and a futon laid out flat like a bed, odd. No reception area, no signs of a legitimate medical practice. I was asked to remove my shoes at entry, and was guided to the treatment room. When I asked to use the restroom, I was asked to wait and "use the table instead". The practitioner never introduced herself--but referred to herself in third person as "Aunty." She was wearing sweats, a messy bun, and open-toed slip on sandals, which is against regulations in a medical setting. She stayed in the room and asked me to undress, holding up a cloth but still able to see me from the waist down. She started treatment without explaining what she was doing, and when I let her know I needed more guidance and for her to talk me through the experience, she started suggesting a detox protocol she offered. When I asked questions, she gave vague answers and avoided specifics--refusing to explain what ingredients were in the supplements sold, instead saying she doesn't use bentonite clay because it's not approved by the FDA. She then showed me disturbing photos of what looked like intestines in a toilet, referring to it as "shit", which felt more like a scare tactic than medical information. Shortly after setting me up, she asked to leave the room so she could do a virtual consult with another client. When I asked what to do if I need help, she mentioned a call button to press nearby. I let her know I was very uncomfortable, didn't want to continue my session, and she said ok but she'd need to "flush" me--something she had not explained beforehand or before she started turning knobs on the machine. Beyond this, there were many red flags regarding legitimacy and hygiene during my experience: 1) She claims to be an RN on her website, but I looked on the CA Board of Registered Nursing site to verify her license and her name is not found. Being an RN is not required for colonic therapy in CA, but to claim credentials, and then act completely unprofessional throughout a medical experience, is a huge red flag. 2) Electronic intake forms require that you share your social security number-this should be optional. 3) I paid a deposit through the online payment platform when I scheduled the appointment. Instead of charging the balance due via this payment system, she asked me to Venmo her the remaining balance on my way out. This place does NOT feel like a legitimate or safe business and I cannot recommend it. read more

First time experiencing Colonics aka Colon Hydrotherapy My friend, Maria recommended Mission Colonics aka Kaureen and I was very pleased. I'm forty and am somewhat new to the world of tending to my gut health. I've never been someone do a cleanse or fast but About 4-5 days before the session I did a cleanse ..was basically on a type of juice cleanse of my own design (had one meal a day but no cabbage or "gasy foods") and also took some powdered magnesium citrate a few nights before recommended by Kaureen. The session went really well. I was able to "go" right way. I passed a small amount on and off for about 20 minutes. The water flow will go for 50 minutes but I asked to end early around 40minutes because I could tell my body had cleared what is could I was getting tired. No problem, Kaureen was there to turn off the flow and let me chill another 15 to eliminate the remaining water. So no "loosing my bowels" on the 40 minute bus ride home. Ha Thanks again Kaureen! I have been getting a colonic from Kaureen for the past 5 years. She has the most modern equipment and her clinic is really clean. Additionally, she is a nurse. So, I feel more comfortable getting a colonic. I don't really like getting colonics but it is a better alternative than removing my gallbladder. My doctor recommended that I remove my gallbladder. I saw on IG about colonic cleanse, and thought it was a great idea to mark my 50th bday, renewing the internal pipes for a lean mean machine to navigate last part of my 2nd act in life. It was her bed time but she wanted to respond to make sure my mind is at rest before she goes to bed. That's a sign of confirming customer experience is her strongest value. I visited for a session (it had been years since my last) and i was a bit surprised by the simplistic set up of the equipment as my previous experience with Rephaya (who I don't think is in business anymore, at least not at their original location) the contraption seemed more high end, and more elaborate... ultimately that made no real difference as it turned out as this new more simplistic set up seemed to work just fine, except for the fact the "irrigation wand" as I'll call it "couldn't handle my nether regions" & kept falling out. Kaureen eventually had to adjust the size of the hose to be able to prop it up against the device to help prevent it from coming out repeatedly, which mostly worked. I was thankful that Kaureen extended my time due to those repeated interruptions. Kaureen I will say was super friendly and welcoming and explained everything and did her best to make me feel comfortable, which is appreciated, especially given the nature of this service and the natural awkwardness that can be typically involved. But yeah she was great! My only constructive feedback and observations are as follows: In talking with me, I did start to feel like the talking was a tad extended and too interactive which ended up being a little distracting once the process began and the water started to flow. For anyone that has never done this, the irrigation goes beyond the rectum up the descending colon, into the transverse colon and down the ascending colon. That's a lot of water and inevitably, at least in my own experience air bubbles form, which can be very uncomfortable causing what I hate to call a degree of pain, but really it is mildly painful...but we'll call it "uncomfortable" for the heck of it. And with my previous experience at Rephaya, and this is really one of the very few points, I would say, that I found to be more beneficial with Rephaya than I did with Mission Colonics, was that the lady (I don't recall her name, it was so long ago) kept dialogue to a minimum, while still being friendly and welcoming and nurturing, but just enough to check in and make sure I was doing ok and to keep us on the same page. But more importantly, and not everyone will agree with my opinion regarding this method, is that she stood there with me and actually was massaging my abdomen along the colon to help gently push the "matter" along with the uncomfortable air bubbles gently help them get out and relieve some of that increasingly uncomfortable pressure. She did this throughout the entire session until we were done. And being my first time, i felt a little weird about the whole thing, but ultimately that interaction with her made a world of difference, as I would find out in comparing this visit at Mission to that previous experience. But to go back to Kaureen, again as friendly and welcoming as she was... the few things I would suggest she might consider tweaking possibly are the following: She placed the "irrigation wand" inside me. That was a little strange for me, and also significantly less comfortable, whereas at Rephaya, while the wand itself was less comfortable (it had rough and sharpish plastic flashing on the tip), she instructed me how to insert it myself and stepped out of the room while I did so. The wand was terrible though w/ rough edges..which should be self explanatory as to why that would be not a good thing given its intended use. But I will say Kaureen's wand was ***much better and perfectly smooth and infinitely more comfortable in that sense***. I just wish she had let me insert it myself, since I can better guide it inside and judge the comfort level myself during insertion. Then I wish she had interacted with the gentle abdominal massage...that would have really helped w/ the uncomfortable air bubbles. But the final thing, that again, not all will agree with me on, was there was I would say too much dialogue...the interactive kind. The conversation (that's exactly what it was) was more along the lines of a social conversation than a mild comforting dialogue focused on the procedure and my comfort during the procedure. I enjoyed the talk greatly, if I'm being honest... ***I just wish it wasn't happening while I was suffering air bubble discomfort while having to respond & think and be fully interactive.*** It would have been better if I could focus on what was happening with her gently massaging the abdomen for the air bubbles, etc. Imagine talking about politics while having gallons of water poured into you & it all coming out with "stuff" that is nastiness (albeit part of natural biology)... I don't know... that felt a bit awkward & at a certain point, & I hope if she reads this that she doesn't take it the wrong way, but I honestly wished she had just stepped out & just left me to my own if there was not going to be "abdo massage". She did ultimately go out, but that's when it kept falling out & she had to come & reinsert etc...& I ran out of space to type :( read more

She did a FREE phone consultation where she asked me questions to get a better understanding on what I expected. I've had around 5 sessions with Kaureen and I'm now a loyal customer to Mission Colonics. Previously I went to SF Colonics and the prices are WAY higher there, which led me to look for other options. Kaureen makes her prices super reasonable/affordable and she is also the main person running the colonic sessions, versus SF Colonics where there are various therapists. I also found Kaureen to be much more welcoming than the therapists at SF Colonics, which is a major PLUS because she'll make you feel very comfortable during each session!! As for colonics themselves, they have made a huge difference in my energy, digestion, general wellbeing etc. I have been suffering from IBS for the past year and for my whole life have always been constipated. Colonics have helped me when I plateaued from just diet change and supplementation. If you are suffering from any sort of chronic GI illness, I would highly suggest looking into colonics. I called up Mission Colonics needing a reboot, summer had ended and the partying was done. Plenty of unhealthy foods had me feeling sluggish and not looking my best. Kaureen did a telephone assessment and recommended (not pushed) a plan that consisted of a detox that I purchased through another company and 3 colonics. I came to Kaureen after doing a ton of research on colon hydrotherapy and The Libbe. I had previously had colonics done via the closed system method and really didn't want to go back to THAT (those of you who have experienced both will totally understand). I sent her an email and she called me within the hour. We talked about what was going on with me and she accommodated a time that worked for me 3 days later - which I'm sure was not convenient for her but she made it work for me. When I came to Kaureens place and met her for the first time, she was very warm and super easy to open up to - which is paramount for someone who is going to be all up in your nether regions! The room was clean (HOLLA!) and she explained to me how the Libbe worked and what was different from the closed system. If you are on the fence, fear not. Do not ever subject yourself to a colonic via the closed system! She got me comfortable and I was on water time for 60 minutes - no skimping on time! Before posting a review I really wanted to get a sense for the overall benefit and not just my first experience. I've now had over 5 visits with Kaureen, and I do have more energy and have been sleeping better. Her prices are VERY reasonable, especially since other Libbe offerings in the bay are $160+ per session. I took advantage of the package deal she offers and really feel like I'm getting a deal. I received a lot of benefit from just my first session! I have had them in San Diego but this was my first here. Kaureen has a nursing background so I felt comfortable with her. She uses the most current Libbe system which Tony Robbins calls the Rolls Royce of hydrochloric systems. It was also a diffferent machine then I was used to. Took a minute to get used to. She just moved her location up to SF from further south and the office is very clean and the service is respectfully private. Kaureen makes suggestions to support your detox and weight loss goals if you want them but there is zero pressure or monetary incentive. Just finished my 3rd session with Kaureen. This girl totally knows her stuff. I'm very regular and don't have problems with my colon or health. I drink 8 glasses a day and stay very hydrated all the time. I eat lots of veggies and juice regularly. My health is very important to me and I'm all about prevention. Prior to Kaureen my last colonics was 10 years ago. Kaureen suggested 6 sessions. The first 2 was just to get your colon softened and hydrated. But now with my 3rd session she told me I'd start to really see results and I sure did. Not gonna get into details but I I highly suggest going to Kaureen even if you are healthy. I went to San Mateo Colonics because I have had long standing digestive issues which I knew were caused by toxicity. Thank god I found Kaureen. Kaureen was a godsend for me.
