Jeezy Creezy this is some fantastic barbeque.
I do love me some barbeque. And one problem about moving to London from the US is finding those places that remind you of home. I've tried several BBQ restaurants, and while they ranged from average to good, nothing really filled that BBQ hole that I have.
Enter Miss P's.
I tried Miss P's for the first time at Kerb Saturdays. Yes, Miss P is a Kerb trader, so you know where to find them. I was out with fellow Yelper Nava, and she was aching to try one of the beef ribs that looked great on the website. So try it we did. And it was delicious. The rib fell off the bone. It has been smoked perfectly and the barbeque flavor came through like a dream. And the spicy BBQ sauce was spicy and delicious. The dishes come with homemade coleslaw. It's not the best coleslaw I've had, but it's tasty, and really, you're mostly here for the meat anyway.
I also had them during the week at Kerb. Sometimes we can slip away and head down to King's Cross. This time I opted for the combo plate of pulled pork and ox cheek. The pulled pork is tender and succulent, but the star is the ox cheek. The smokey and spicy flavors go so well against the fattiness and beefiness of the cheek, and the cheek just falls apart. It's like beef heaven on a fork. You can opt to get it naked or on a bun. I went naked, but my co-worker went for the ox cheek sandwich. His exact words, "This is the best meat I've ever eaten." (Insert rude joke here.)
Seriously. If you're a fan of Southern barbeque, you need to find Miss P's and put her meat in your mouth. You won't regret it. read more
