The young receptionist lady in the front is very rude. She does not acknowledge you when you walk in. I walked in and she ignored me. I had to say hello I am here for appointment. I checked in and she ignored me so I sat down on one of the chairs. The person who I had an appointment with , did not come to get me until 30 minutes later. Which is also very unprofessional. When it was time to pay, the same receptionist told me the amount that was due and I gave her cash. She returned my change and did not say a single thing. I discovered this salon today on Mother's Day when I wanted a mani/pedi and googled the nearest salon that was open. I called and they told me they took walk-ins and weren't crowded. I noticed that several men stopped by either to get service or make later appointments. I love the ambiance (spacious, muted tones, comfortable chairs and stations, and the computerized sign-in system. The space is beautifully decorated and clean. I had Mimi who did a wonderful mani/pedi and quickly fixed my dinged nail that I hit on the dryer with a smile. This is going to be my new nail spot! Mimi was worth the 20% tip! read more

Went for pedicure today and didn't have appointment. Asked for Tim and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. They brought me to a chair in the other room after30 minutes and apparently forgot about me. 45 minutes the receptionist came over to apologize and asked if I would like someone else to do my nails. Horrible work and customer service. Based on my terrible experience I would never recommend anyone to pay for any service provided by miss nails in oak lawn. I would even deny a gift card to this place. I went in looking to get my current acrylics removed and wanted regular gell polish on my natural nails. No design just a color That's it. What I got was an over prized terrible quality job that i didn't even ask for, TWICE! The owner who did my nails, decided to do builder gell even though I clearly asked for regular gell polish to two different people, the person who removed my acrylics (she was the only person who was nice and understanding ) and him when he took over. I clearly stated I only wanted gell polish, I even confirmed it would be regular gell polish when I asked for a chrome finish. I can understand that the nails didn't come out good and that many factors could have attributed to that, from poor technique to old product. However when I kindly asked if they could just remove the builder gell all together and refund me half of the money they refused. It would have only been $35 dollars! Because they had the audacity to charge me $70 for a bad job on something I didn't ask for. The owners wife blabbered something about how they wont refund for a service they provided. So client beware they will up charge you for terrible service and that's on you not them. I figured I might as well try to get my nails fixed so that I wasn't just paying $70 for no nails and bad attitude from owners who can handle feedback provided extremely nicely. The nice lady who originally removed my acrylics was going to fix my nails and I'm 100% positive had she done it I would have left super happy. But the owner came back and his ego took over he pushed the lady aside and did a bad job again. It took alot for me to even ask for them to get the gell removed and for them to consider a refund so when he didn't bother to remove the builder gell and do a bad job again, I gave up all hope and left. I was a long time customer at least for 15 years. I changed nail salon closer to my home. So since i live closer. I decided to start coming back to miss nails. The prices is outrageous.. but i really liked how Jen the wife does my nails. So today was my fourth time going back. This time i didn't have Jen to do my nails.Don the husband did my nails. Definitely not as good as The wife. He rushed through and i asked him to use the attachment tool to clean underneath my nails. He refused and told me just go wash my hands and use the brush. I'm headed back to his chair thinking i was going to get a nice hand massage with lotion like I seen other customers get by their nail tech. He was waiting at the cash register waiting for me to pay.i paid $55 for dipped no design. And couldn't even get any lotion put on my hands. I feel like if a person going to pay big bucks for a service. It should be worth it. If i go back I'm going to request his wife. If she's unavailable I just want get anything. read more

This was my first time going to this nail salon and I made an appointment over the phone yesterday for 3:30 and I wasn't taken until it was 4:10-4:20, the people their did not seem friendly and I was charged $70 for a very poor job. I was supposed to have a full set of acrylics and I even brought in a picture. It looked nothing like I asked for, the nails r thick as shit and lumpy. I asked for it to be a bit more shorter and the lady still kept it too long. Will not be coming their ever again. Worst nail experience ever! Should've asked for my money back honestly, because it took about 2 hours and at the end the lady said next time if I don't want to wait that long then I should make an online appointment even tho when I called that wasn't offered to me so... My family literally laughed and said my nails look like witch nails. Kinda sad to leave a 3/5 star because I had a good experience last time. This time I went in for a pedicure and manicure. First off it looked like they were bothered because I wanted my no chip off and wanted regular polish for both services. I got a basic pedicure and I asked the man to go as short as he could which he didn't and then when I asked him to fix it he looked bothered. I received a 10 second scrub and no massage. Picture of my manicure shown below. $60 for both. Not worth it. Now I know I should just do myself if it'll come out like this. Sucks because I had a good experience last time. Great service! The environment was comfortable. The chairs were the nice massage kind. They gave us small water bottles. I got a basic pedicure and it was thorough. The pedicure included a leg scrub that left my legs super soft. I tried dip for the first time on my finger nails. I love how it turned out. They have a good variety of colors. I've been going to this place off and on for years. And as of recent the playlist is highly inappropriate. And also the service from the husband and the wife (Janet) is very rude. Having to be interrogated about what happened to your nail after just getting my nails done a day ago I view is highly inappropriate and very unnecessary. Add until I already returned to a nail shop to get a nail fixed is already irritating but arriving and receiving piss poor service and being handled like an inconvenience is even worse. With all these Covid cases and whatnot I call at 11am to make 1pm appointment for a pedicure, the man on the phone ask for my name says no problem, I arrive at 12:58pm, I tell them my name and my appointment time, I'm asked to sign a Covid waiver, I oblige. The guy never checked his appointment book or schedule. I'm told to have a seat it will be a few minutes. It's 5 other people waiting along with me. 15 minutes past, I try to get some one who works there attention, no luck. I grab my waiver, that was on top of the clipboard and walked out. Two weeks ago, I came in for a full-set, three-colors gel nails. The cost was $60 without tip. The tech was heavy -handed with the file and I noticed my natural nails felt very thin. TWO days after getting my nails done, while MAKING MY BED, I felt pain in one of my nails. One finger had split in the nail bed. As the week progressed, I noticed splitting in other nails. In all my years of having gel nails, I have never had problems like this. Once I dropped a 45lb weight on my hand and it didn't even chip my nails. As I closed my car door this morning on the way into Miss Nails, another nail tore! When I explained to the manager what had happened and showed her my nails, she became defensive and started shaking her head, "no". She said, "You must've been doing hard work." The nail technician who did the botched job also blamed me, and said, "We do the best work here". Well, long story short: won't be back. There are way too many salons in this town to settle for bad work and even worse customer service!! read more

Manicures, pedicures, acrylic/gel nails, lashes, brows... you name it, the do it all fantastically!! Don is the absolute best!! I have been going to Miss Nails for three years now every two weeks. I normally only go to Annie but she no longer works there. Janet (The Owner) is always trash talking any customer who brings forth a complaint about their nails. I was in a rush and gave the young Latina a chance . My nails weren't good quality but I figured she was learning so I allowed her to finish. I lost two nails the next day and decided to go back in to get them fixed . Janet first told me I would need to wait four days for the young lady to fix it herself. I told her I couldn't wait four days for a service I had already paid for . She reluctantly accepted I book an appointment with her the following day. As I'm booking the appointment Janet looks at the customer who was next to us and overheard the entire conversation and says "She always complains about something ". I was literally still standing in front of her when she said this. I have never been soo disrespected. I pay good money for my nails and often get designs I was not asking for a hand out. I will post My pictures that she uses on her website as FREE ADVERTISING (Annie did them of course). I doubt half the staff even have a license to perform the services they do. She has teenagers working there now too. Janet clearly cannot keep up with demand and has horrible customer service . You hear about the horror stories of nail salons and how they talk about you. Fantastic selection of no chip colors, okay customer service, fair prices, and my nail tech did a great job shaping my nails. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back because they aren't clean. After one customer got out of a pedicure chair, they literally rinsed it out with water and the next person hopped in. They used the same tools and everything. Disgusting! so i went here today because my usual place was all booked. I haven't been to Miss Nails in a year or so because i had moved but i was in the area. long story short i do not like the way my nails came out, i don't know who did my nails but it was an elder man and while he was going to cut my length, instead of asking me what length I wanted he cut the first nail anyways and asked me if it was good. I wanted them longer but i didn't want to be rude or anything so i said sure. The whole process he rushed to do my nails and cut me with the electric file twice and made me bleed. Gel nails should not pop off like press ons after a week of wear, but alas here we are. I got a full set of nails and after 4 days, one of the nails popped off and 3 days later two more had popped off. The first one came off when I was reaching in my backpack and the nail hit the bottom (not forceful at all) and the other ones came off in my sleep. I do not use my hands more than most and I don't even wash dishes so I don't understand how they could slide off with such ease. After having so many nails come off I decided to take off the others and all I had to do was pop them off, without hardly any force. As a student I rarely treat myself to nails and thus it is very disappointing to have wasted 40 dollars on nails that didn't even last a week. read more

I came in here half an hour before I want it to go for my class at LA Fitness. All I wanted was to remove my no chip which usually only takes about 20 minutes and gives me enough time to be out of there to walk over to the gym. Unfortunately when I walked into this place I had asked them and a lady who I told I only want to remove my no chip responded to me okay pick your color. I clearly had told her I only want to remove it and don't want anything paint it on after. I sat there for about 10 minutes before I started getting fidgety and was then moved to a manicure station where I waited for another 5 minutes to be bounced between two people. Finally this one girl came who may not have been old enough to even do my nails. She was real nice but I don't know if she had the technical skill. Halfway through I asked her how long it would take and she said only about 10 minutes and I officially have walked out of there at 6:10 p.m. when I realize how late I was going to be I asked her to just do a cut down for me too. She then turn to one of the ladies who works there and asked her if I wanted them shaped too. From my understanding a cut and file kind of come together. She removed my no chip but left quite a texture still on my nails, proceeded to cut my nails too short, and then finished off by cutting my pinky nail so short it took some skin underneath with it. Not happy at all. Ended up having to skip my class and go to the beauty supply in the same Plaza to get a nail buffer and take care of the rest of it on my own. read more
