You have claw machines, a British telephone booth, a bear brick painting painted like Iron man next to a neon "good vibes" sign and a large comfy sofa in the front in case you want to take a nap after eating their delicious chicken. Placing all judgment aside based purely on the aesthetic environment, this place makes some slamming soy garlic chicken and some tasty fries! That's all you need to know. Service was pleasant and the one gentleman seemed to be hustling bringing out people's food to their tables or calling out their numbers. The lady at the register kept the line moving. It wasn't busy when we initially ordered, but then there was an influx of customers out of nowhere! Initially I thought the price was kind of steep for 6 pieces of chicken but then I saw the size and they are huge! I added a side of fries and a drink and it came to a total of $17 and some change. If you dine in there are free refills. One of my friends came back to our table with a mini cup of ice cream. Apparently they have a freezer of ice cream and popsicles that are complimentary! So that was a nice added touch! They offer military discounts! Just show your ID! I asked. Not too soon after, I heard a gentleman that had purchased food prior to me comment out loud that he wish he knew that earlier. I just always try to ask wherever I go, the worst they can say is no. ‍ I don't go to Chesapeake often, but if i'm ever out this way, I would definitely stop by again. The entrance is a bit confusing when driving up. While it faces the main street of Battlefield Blvd you have to turn at the traffic light and go behind another building that's adjacent to it, just make sure you don't overshoot and miss the turn. This place seemed to have a lot of not so great reviews or were a mixed bag, but I figured it was at the point of I'm just going to figure this out myself and experience it. I'm glad I did.

Our waiter James was the best waiter on earth, he was funny, and he even switched the channel for us to the Broncos Vs. Chiefs game. He is genuinely a nice guy, if he is ever your waiter, give him like a $15 tip. -Decker Jan 5 2025

Sad to have to give this place a low review. The two stars…read moreare only for the price and the food, which doesn't change much for KPOT it's AYCE, and the food is always decent. I will say that I have been to multiple locations, this one was the lowest in quality. The Buffett bar wasn't labeled correctly in the sauces area, and the hot items available were not good. Fries??? My coworker nd I were just talking about how good the chicken is usually at kpot but not this location. Service was horrible, the server was trying to be friendly which is great, but there was like 3 people in the place, and I am sure that the other person eating was a worker on their break. So it shouldn't have taken very long to get drinks and to service us, I ended up having to get everything myself, all utensils, soup ladles, extra plates. There was only 3 people in the building eating there should be no reason for us not to be checked on, or sodas refilled. The server that brought our food out, practically threw the food on the table, we were trying to make space for everything and he was holding a bowl of rice and I guess we took to long and he pretty much slammed it on the table and walked away, and we told the server this and he said that he was made about something, which is not an excuse for this to have happened! Fried rice was horrible! White rice seemed to have been served awhile ago and it was hard on top. Everyone in the building wasn't paying attention to anything, I waited for 10 mins to my bill checked out at my table, I went to the restroom which is another story! And my bill and card still hadn't been picked up from the table, I told my friend let's go and walked to the front thinking someone would finally come but no, they didn't I stood there looking for someone, could've walked right out and they wouldn't have noticed us gone. But I am not that kind of person, and I stood there waiting for my bill to be rung up. Bathroom had no soap! How are employees washing their hands! All the utensils pilled up, 90% of them looked like they needed to be rewashed, and there was a mildew smell coming from that area, take it all down and clean it! I love KPOT, and haven't had an experience like this at any other location, I hope this helps this location take a look at the details!

My Grandson, even as we were walking in, said "Yes!" Soothing instrumental K-Pop music was playing at a volume level that didn't interfere with conversation. We were promptly provided with menus. Included in the choices was his favorite dish mool naengmyeon. which is even hard to find in Brooklyn. My son ordered the same, along with tteokbokki to share. Needing protein and something not hot during the heat wave, I ordered the chicken katsu, which came with miso soup and steamed rice. It was all excellent. One lady was taking care of service for the entire restaurant. She was extremely friendly and kind, especially to my grandson. Following the meal we were served sujeonggwa, a Korean traditional cinnamon tea. It was an excellent finish to a wonderful dinner. Following the meal my grandson gave our server the traditional Korean goodbye and bow. She responded with the same and a wonderful smile. Both my son and grandson, who regularly eats homemade Korean food, proclaimed Norfolk Garden the best Korean food in the area. We've put the restaurant on the list of spots where we'll dine every time they're in town. The restaurant is on the west side of N. Military Highway not too far north of the I-264 overpass. The parking lot and entrance faces north rather than towards N. Military Highway. So it looks rather dark from the highway itself. Hours are until 10pm on weekdays and 10:30pm on weekends. Norfolk Garden is a Coastal Virginia treasure. Beyond a doubt they serve the best traditional Korean food in the area.

It really sets it apart in this area. We truly love it here. The environment is fantastic, with a cozy, classical Asian-style decor and beautiful tableware that makes the meal feel special. However, I have to be honest about a recent experience, which makes me sad to only give 3 stars instead of 5. We know the auntie is super busy and works hard, and we usually embrace the casual, "homey" vibe where you might need to help yourself a bit. But during our last visit, her attitude was quite unpleasant when we simply ordered a few smaller soup dishes to share so we could try more variety (since the main dishes are pretty large/expensive). She made us feel like we were an inconvenience for not ordering larger portions and for asking for extra plates to share. We weren't trying to "cheap out," we just wanted to enjoy a wider culinary experience without wasting food. We love the food, but the awkward interaction left a sour taste at the end. Despite that, we will probably be back for DoorDash not inperson because the food is just that good. Just be prepared for a possible attitude check with your order.
