It was our first time our family with a 7 and 9 year old went on an offshore trip, We opted for a four hour trip. Once we hit the open water, things got a little more rough than normal and it didn't seem like it would level out. And our 9 year old was not really feeling well on his first time. So, our fantastic Captains Ken and Deidra, thought it would be better to head back to the sound and fish for sharks. And we are super glad for that! Our kids had a blast and had a great first experience on the ocean. We caught several sharks and my son bounced back and got to ha for some jellyfish. We were really glad how Deidra and Ken read the water and made the best call for our family's first experience. They were really attentive to the kids questions and super friendly. read more

We decided last minute to do some charter fishing and we're able to book through Miss Judy's easily - very good communication up front, friendly and easy. Upon arrival we met our Captain, Jake, and we were off! We did not go out into open water, but never the less enjoyed a full day of fishing, learned about the area, saw dolphins and enjoyed a good catch. Jake recommended a place we could take our catch and they would cook up for us (Flying Fish Grille), which was also amazing. Would highly recommend and would use again the next time the opportunity arises to go fishing! read more

Over all everyone was super friendly went with a party of 20 we all took 4 boats out don't recommend CPT price he doesn't know what he was doing everyone else caught fish on there boats except for us and wasn't really welcoming overall made the trip feel like he just wanted to take his boat out for the day and get paid for it. Miss Judy Charters hosted a Wounded Warrior Project event today. I was fortunate enough to have been selected to take part in this half day excursion aboard one of her charters. The boat my friends and I got to board and fish from was called the "Crap Shoot" piloted by Captain Ryan. Captain Ryan is the most easy going skipper that I have had the pleasure of getting to know. He took us out to a predetermined spot just shy of the ocean and dropped anchor and let us have at it. We caught a few fish and a couple of rays (these got released after a quick photo op) but moreso we had a really good time. We fished, told stories, he had the radio going and he gave sound advice when we asked for some. Moreso, overall, it was just a great experience being out on the water, on the "Crap Shoot" and hosted by Miss Judy Charters. So it goes without saying that I would go out again with this charter, this Captain and his crew. read more

Just finished a trip with six of us just offshore with Miss Judy. Bottom line up front, it was awesome. Never been offshore fishing before, and she made it exceptionally easy. She only wanted us to fish, so she and her first mate handled baiting hooks and taking fish off the line immediately. We took the five hour trip, and in the span of two hours on the water, we caught 158 sea bass. Only able to keep sea bass over 13" and five each, so walking away with 30 fish was not bad at all. Highly recommended-good rates, good fishing, and a great person to boot! She also hooked us up with someone to clean and filet the fish, and a restaurant down the street will cook them up for you for a great price! read more

When we arrived for our charter we were greeted by Judy who is quite the local celebrity and legend. She provided us with some local history and stories we couldn't possibly have heard anywhere else, and made us feel very welcomed. Our family booked a 4- hour charter and had an absolute blast on the water. Garrett was our Captain and did an amazing job of turning our trip into an unforgettable experience. While the fishing wasn't great (mostly due to the weird weather changes in Savannah), Garrett made sure we still had a blast-- and even kept us out on the water beyond our 4 hour booking to make sure everyone caught something. His knowledge of the area and local anecdotes made the trip a highlight of our visit to Savannah. I can't recommend Judy's Charters more, everyone was kind, knowledgable, and dedicated to making sure we had a blast. Great! My wife and I went Inshore Fishing for the first time in early August. With that being said, we weren't expecting too much. We signed up for the 4 hour trip in which we began on time and went out further than I had thought we would. Captain Rob and his fish mate who I believe name was Cole were very nice and helpful. We were first timers and didn't know much about fishing. For the entire time, we didn't feel that we were giving them a hard time due to our lack of skill and experience. We had a lot of fun! We caught about 7 baby sharks, 4 sting rays, and a bunch of croaker fish. They supplied us with everything we needed and Capt. Rob also bought a better quality rod which he would let us man and reel in if he had a bite. When the action calmed down for a while, we would move to another hot spot in hopes of catching other fish. He also gave us a tip to come in the fall so I'm sure we'll be back then! read more

We were able to get a last-minute charter. Captain was very patient with us. We caught a good variety of fish, shark and stingray.

The crew was really friendly and professional but the actual fishing trip was a total bust! We took the 6-hour offshore charter for up to 6-people. We had 5 people in our party and there was barely room to move if we were all fishing at the same time. The boat we were on, Chum Bucket, as well as the equipment itself was not at all what I expected or what I'm used to for Charter fishing. There was no space to sit while fishing, except for on the cooler that would have held our catch, if we had caught anything we could keep. The cooler was not fastened down in any way so we had to be careful not to tip it over. The dock facilities were also quite a surprise as I'm used to departing from a marina when I charter a boat. We left from a dock located down the dirt road (filled with ruts and holes) that leads to what I assumed to be Miss Judy's home. We sat outside at a picnic table fighting the gnats and mosquitos until time for our trip to depart. The restroom facilities at the dock was a PortaPotty (1). The trip was extremely expensive, in my opinion, given that drinking water and fish cleaning (if we'd had any to clean) were not included. I would not recommend fishing with Miss Judy's Charters or, for that matter, any charter from the Savannah area if they are all the same! read more

Got to docks at 7:30 per direction from miss Judy herself. Captain ken rolled in to pick us up approximately 8:30. If that sounds bad, we paid for an offshore trip, but due to inclement weather, we had to stay inshore. That in itself is completely understandable. The thing that is not understandable, is that we were charged the full offshore rate. Captain ken was as cool as they come in terms of people skills, but was constantly conferring with the first mate on whether or not his tactics were the right thing to do. It was a rough day, I wasn't expecting to catch anything, but we ended up with four whiting, which was admittedly a pleasant surprise. However, this was definitely not worth the full rate. I would not go on another trip with this company if they paid me. read more

SO YOU WENT OUT SATURDAY....................I hope these guys had chartered their fishing trip over five months ago as I did..... My trip got cancelled and you stated " well conditions probably will not let us get out anyway for a 12 hour trip" I was highly disappointed that there was not a valid "back-up" plan for my trip planned over five months ago for my son's last family outing before his wedding. I understand that the Captains mother-in-law passed away...........sorry about that; but as a business there should have been a back-up or help in getting another charter for the trip other than an inshore split boat fishing experience or book a later fishing outing. We planned and paid to meet and stay in SAVANNAH.on the weekend of the 17-19 of APRIL 5 months ago..........Do not live near here to make it easy to get 5 guys here....etc. work, etc.....................Just d&m*. Sorry about the rant............. I had to have a credit card on file in the event I cancelled and 50% of trip would be forfeit.....I got nothing except hotel bills when they cancelled on me. it was to be a trip to remember and I remember it all right............for the WRONG reasons. read more

Do not waste your friends time or money going fishing there. once they get you there all customer service goes out into the ocean, you are told to get there on time and the captain shows up 30 minutes late and then want to give you this 10 minute speech about something no adult want to hear about. if you do decide to call for a trip after reading these reviews, ask who will be your captain if you are told that it will be captain Ken take my advice please say heck no!. read more

In July of 2013 I paid a thousand dollars to charter a fishing trip with Miss Judy Charters. The Capt. we got was Ken Kennickell. We would just start catching fish and he would move the boat. Between 6 of us we brought home 3 small fish (sea bass, I think).He said if we paid more money he would really put us on the fish. We refused. He also told us not to urinate in the toilet, but to just go over the side of the boat. All of us being men , but the 1st Mate was a woman. He said she would turn around when we went. Needless to say none of us went the entire trip. To sum it up, we took a thousand dollar boat ride with an asinine Capt. Save your money and stay home. read more
