Great brewpub. My wife and I stopped in for lunch. Pizza and beers were good and the staff was friendly. The rooftop seating was comfortable with a nice breeze and view. read more

Attended the official opening today of the new Big Shed venue on Port Road. Great venue and…read morefriendly staff. What let it down was the ridiculous price charged for the "craft" beers. Having grown up in the UK and enjoyed real ale for many years through CAMRA and such like it's disappointing that a new venue like this should charge $12 for a "pint" of beer for this can be best described as a metric pint, aka 375ml, whereas an imperial pint is about 550ml. In the UK you would pay around 4 pound for a 550ml pint of real ale - which is about $9. Why then do we have to be ripped off like this at the Big Shed - especially on opening day where you would think at least they would be offering specials. Shame on you - it's pure profiteering!

They also have coffee by common ground roasters and a merchandise area! Come check it out! x

Still, they make some pretty awesome craft beers, and I have not problems whatsoever going and having a drink at the pub, or at least the ones that have their beers on tap (and having a massive brewer at their back means that there are a few). So, I ended up at their brewery with my friend and yeah, it was pretty awesome. Not only did they have some great beers on tap, but there was some other quirks as well, including a barbers shop, which honestly, is something that I have never seen in a brewery before. Yeah, definitely worth checking out.

So, it took a while to get here, namely because most times I went past it was closed, but one Sunday afternoon I was fortunate enough to discover that it was open. Well, we ended up getting a tasting paddle, and I do admit that the beers were actually pretty good. It's a rather small time operation, and can be difficult to find, but it is definitely worth checking out.
Looking for somewhere casual and feels like a home away from home? Look no further Little Bang is…read morehere. Actually, I really wish this is what my home looked like. But, what I am getting at is that it feels homely... This is a brewery that has opened its doors to invite craft beer lovers in to enjoy some frothies for the weekend. First up I should point out, you are really right in the middle of the brewing action here. Set up a seat next to a fermenter and stacks of malt. You will be greeted with a smile and you might even get a handshake. Ryan & Fil are amongst the coolest brewers in town. From Video Game Designers to Brewers, they have such a great success story to tell. In fact, I think it is quite inspirational for those who are looking to get into the industry. Changing your career into something that you really love is always a challenge. But with drive and determination, you can really achieve your dreams. After having to leave the games industry due to the GFC, Ryan took on working in the beer industry and Fil in refrigeration mechanics. In their spare time, they brewed for fun. Just like you would in learning skills to reach the next level in a video game; these two had an epiphany (I am sure after some beers) about combining forces to create one mega-craft-beer-force that Little Bang is today. Unlike other breweries they had the skills to make the equipment they needed which made it a lot more affordable. So, that is exactly what they did. Well, after having to convince their wives of course. And I am sure glad they did. These brews are great and are quickly earning their stripes. As for this Venue, this is a great spot for groups. But, remember don't expect anything fancy, this is a place to chill and relax. There are tables inside and out. Their full range of beers are on offer and you can get a paddle to give them all a go for $15. Need munchies with your beer? They also make their own pickles which are really good. Or you can order some pizza from a nearby joint with free delivery. What are my fave beers on offer? I am a big fan of their Freezer Cleaner. But that is of course going to change in flavour over time. I do also like their Chocolate Porter which is lighter than expected and easy to drink. Give their Happy Land Summer Ale a go if you like something lighter. It's got a lot more flavour profile than others I have tried. Quite floral and almost a little sweet. I am very excited that the boys have opened their brewery for weekend drinks. This might become my local. Well done guys!

Holy heck they have a hopped cider, this is amazing, my boyfriend doesn't really like cider and he loves hoppy beer like IPA's whereas I like cider and do not like beer specially not IPA's, this cider works for both of us and that hop flavour is so delicate but definitely there. Need to purchase over and over again. 2. Now, we don't want to condone binge drinking, BUT who doesn't love an 8% cider...Ginger and Apple cider i discovered is high in alcohol but not only that delicious, tart and tasty with that little ginger kick which I love, if you are a light weight you may only need 1-2 of these and be done. The event made me open my eyes to such a larger range which is so much tastier than the basic apple and pear, it makes things interesting, i hate sweet ciders but these two different options are not sweet nor girly!! The Coopers Brewery tour is helping put the Rad in Radelaide…read more The tour was rather scientific, going beyond the standard "beer is made from water, malt, yeast, and hops." I suspect this was partially tailored to our group because our small tour was comprised of beer nerds & beer lovers. The only issue is finding the time if you're not on vay-k, as there's only one tour a day, Tuesday to Friday at 1pm. No chance of "taking a long lunch..." Buzz the intercom at the main gates of the factory for access and you half expect to be asked for your golden ticket. It really is a "wonderland" of ingenious inventions, a 3 hole golf course, concert venue... I won't give too much away, but just that the tour is highly technical. As you walk around the factory some of the processes give off lots of heat. Some areas are noisy. It's a little overwhelming. People get shy. But then you hit the "tastings" part of the tour and everyone relaxes and livens up. So I guess sort of like going to any bar...
