The crust was flaky and I enjoyed it even though it was on the saltier side. For entree, I ordered their seafood pasta. The pasta was al dente, mixed in with so much seafood that it almost seemed like it was endless. The seafood were big, fresh, and cooked perfectly. It is again, a little too salty for me. This is a great option for a quick bite when you get tired from shopping at the mall. The foods are decent and staff are friendly.

We sat ourselves and it took a while before someone waited on us. But when the server did finally arrive, he was very pleasant and attentive. We each ordered a chicken and beef empanada. They were ok. The beef was on the salty side. The chicken had a spice flavoring that I could not pinpoint. Was not really for me. For the main, I got a chicken breast (schnitzel style) on a bed of pesto spaghetti. The chicken was good but the pasta was very salty. I ate very little of the pasta. Likely would not go back if I return to Chile.

La Mar in Santiago is outstanding. The food is excellent, with an impressive selection of very…read morefresh fish and beautifully prepared seafood. While the menu is mostly focused on seafood, there are also sashimi options and subtle Japanese influences that add nice variety without taking away from La Mar's core identity. Everything we tried was flavorful and well executed, and the quality of the ingredients really stood out. I also ordered a pisco sour, which was perfectly balanced and one of the better ones I've had. If you enjoy high-quality seafood and fresh fish, La Mar is absolutely worth a visit.

It was busy, but we had made a reservation and were seated at the sushi bar. This turned out to be a great decision, as you can watch the small team of chefs preparing your food right in front of you. It's like being in the front row on MasterChef Being unsure what to choose from the extensive menu, or server suggested trying the tasting menu, which they prepared according to it dietary choices {no meat or dairy}. With a nice bottle of Chilean sauvignin blanc cooking on ice, wee watched enthralled as a parade of exquisitely prepared dishes were placed in front of us. I can't begin to describe how tasty they all were, and just as we were ready to call it a day, they brought it the main course! Just fabulous food, great service, and a wonderful visual experience all round. It's easy to see why this place is rated as the best restaurant in town. Don't miss it!

The spot is located in a multi-level, beautiful shopping/dining center (for those from NYC, imagine an outdoor version of the Shops at Columbus Circle). The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice being able to enjoy the meal under the pleasant night air. Reservations are preferred during peak days/times, but we were able to easily walk in. All of the seafood/crudo/ceviche was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Their pisco menu was overwhelming (in a good way), and the drinks were great. Prices were extremely reasonable - we over-ordered food to share as a table, and everyone had multiple drinks, and I think we spent probably not much more than $50/pp. We all left with happy stomachs, satisfied taste buds, and slightly buzzed. Highly recommend this place if you happen to be in Santiago and want seafood!

I would definitely recommend "La Picantería", as one of your MUST seafood restaurants in Santiago, Chile.

The selections were very Nikkei (a mix of Peruvian and Japanese), so be prepared and open minded. You'll find dishes like rolls with sweet potato - unconventional, but interesting. Apart from the food, the pisco sour was great.
