Champion soup or something. It was creamy soup with mushrooms, carrots, other veggies. The bread dumplings were heavenly. Overall, it was perfect in the cold November weather. Other notes: it's super small inside. Leave your strollers outside. No infant chairs available. Also they are only open from 11:30 to 3pm. Not sure of the days.

This is a second-hand review…read more.. While Spousal Unit and I were on a recent river cruise in Germany I came down with a "code in my dose". This derailed my "eat a sausage at every stop" plan. Fortunately SU covered for me as she went happily a'wandering while I sipped hot tea back on the ship. Her comments on the restaurant's traditional Regensberger wurst: fabulous, especially with sauerkraut and sweet mustard on a brodchen roll. She did not bring me a wurst back (her excuse: "it would have been cold", damnit) but she did bring a jar of their mustard: wunderbar! (One of the couples we met on the cruise had been to the Wusrtkuchl before, and they actually brought a spare suitcase to load up for the trip home!). I guess a vicarious thrill is better than none. Next time!

Lots of flavor and sauce. The cuts of pork were great, not too much fat, which is my preference. There were also lots of veggies. I'm not a huge mushroom fan (lots here) but the broccoli was great. She also informed me of the specials and they sounded more amazing than anything on the menu. I ordered the minestrone soup. It came with a basket of small round freshly baked bread. It had lots of fresh veggies and the broth was simple in flavor. For the main course I has the Tonnarelli Scarface. It is black pasta with mussels. I had wanted to try black pasta for a while (it's made with octopus ink! So interesting). It was heavenly. I got 25 perfectly cooked mussels (I counted them in the end just for the review) with fresh al dente pasta cooked in delicious sauce that contained garlic and cherry tomatoes. It left me dancing and singing while walking home. I was very happy with my first black pasta experience. There are only two cons I can think of: I waited 15 mins for the soup and 15 more minutes for the pasta. Even though I was the only customer, it still took a whole while. The second thing was the little lamps that were the centerpiece on each table. They were super dusty! What's up with that? Other notes. There was a restroom but I didn't use it, so no comment. I drank 3 carafes of water while being ignored. As it got closer to closing and after I had to use the restroom, the manager/server finally made eye contact so I could request my check. If you are black or brown, DO NOT come here. Yoshoku is very close but was completely full when we went. That food looked just as delicious and I suspect won't come with a healthy serving of racism and disrespect.

We had the gyoza (in a sublime drizzled sauce), the beef spring rolls (drizzled in a lite fish sauce), and the Shoyu ramen, with pork base. During my Sai Nam binge, I had a curry dish, pad thai with chicken, pad thai with vegetables, spring rolls, and the iced tea. Every single item was absolutely amazing. I got my food to go each time. Even though I didn't call ahead to place the order (I was nervous about not speaking German, however that was silly as all of the staff I encountered spoke beautiful English), I was always in and out in under 15 minutes. Add to all of this how super affordable everything is (all entrees under €10, apps under €5), and you have my new favorite restaurant in Germany!
