If it's your first time going, you might want to go early just so you don't end up driving past it. I was surprised when I walked in. I thought it was your-moms-salon with cheezy Duran Duran pictures everywhere and books of she-mullets. But the place is pretty huge inside and nice! It was a Saturday, and I swear there must have been at least 12 girls working in there. Don't expect to get a walk-in accepted on the weekend. Call, trust me. The girls are of all different ages, and all types of services are available. One of the younger girls is Sue, if you prefer a younger stylist. She's very nice and conversational. I think they do manicures, but if they don't I know there is a nail salon right next door. Price is average. A good cut and dry will be about $30. A great alternative to Supercuts.

So, when I say Kristy is good, that is saying something. I will be going back every summer.

Everything was sparking clean and fresh. The waiting area had a coffee machine and cookies, there is also bottled water available. The owner Lisa has been a stylist for over a decade and is very responsive in discussing what you want to do with your hair, and then in producing an amazing product. A native to the area, she was also quite pleasant to talk to for an hour. Having boycotted local salons due to just overall unpleasantness and poor customer service, I have finally found a place to go.

I hesitated for a few months because of a previous awful experience but eventually gave this place a try. I was really glad I did! The salon was easy to find. It's cozy, clean and very well organized (a big plus in my book) and the staff (a mother and daughter team) were nice and professional! Ms. Ejah washed and styled me and I was very comfortable in her hands. I came in a hot mess and left looking fabulous! Their prices were VERY REASONABLE with a starting base price at $55 (now y'all know how I feel about my base prices lol). What I appreciated the most about Plumbhunneez was the fact that Ms. Ejah not only did my hair but she educated me about my hair! She evaluated the state of my locs, made some recommendations about maintenance that I or she could do, and the more we spoke, it became very evident that Ms. Ejah is very passionate about locs and natural hair in general! In addition to the salon services, Ms. Eja and her daughter grow their own Aloe Vera which they use to twist locs (so thats an option), and they sell their own all natural shampoo, conditioner and hair grease! Honestly, this shop is so underrated and I can only imagine if it were in Boston, they would give all these other places a serious run for their money. So if you're ever in the Brockton area (or don't mind taking a trip down here...the Brockton Commuter Rail Station is a 5 minute walk btw) I promise you that this place is worth it! Trust me! I would never steer you wrong! XOXO

Staff are so friendly and chill, and Jordan especially was super communicative and supportive in the weeks leading up to the big day. I did have some trouble initially making an appointment, I think mainly because the staff are often the ones who handle the phones. So there was some phone tag. But once we connected, I never had any further issues. I got a trim and color a few weeks before the wedding day, which Jordan did. She did a great job, and I also really appreciated how much she explained everything (never had my hair colored before!) I also brought her the gazillion hair decor things I had purchased, and she went through and helped me pick the pros and cons of each piece and how it could be best used (or not). Heck, my niece made my hair vine using Jordan's advice on how to best construct it! My hair was exactly what I wanted. Other stylists had told me I wouldn't be able to pull off the braided style I wanted... Jordan didn't even bat an eye! Meanwhile, my maid of honor texted me a photo of her hair today (four days later!) raving about how it STILL looks awesome (which, like, I'm happy for you girl, but wash your damn hair already! lol!)
