I had a deep tissue massage from Shantoll and it was the best massage I've ever had in my life! You know those people you meet that have such a kind vibe you instantly feel comfy around them? She was like that! Then during the massage she asked for my feedback on the pressure a couple of times and I appreciated that. I went in there with a stiff painful neck after sleeping wrong and she not only fixed that, she went above and beyond. 24 hours later my whole upper body is more mobile then it's been in forever! She got into tension I didn't even realize I was holding. I highly recommend this spa and while treating yourself to these things is never cheap, Awakenings is definitely on the more affordable side of the spectrum.

The result was not what I asked for, and I couldn't even get the blowout I originally wanted because there apparently wasn't enough time. Looking back, that honestly makes even less sense to me considering how rushed the entire service felt. Since then, I went to Beauty Union in New Bedford, and having experienced stylists there look at my hair and explain how damaged, unhealthy, and poorly/rushed it appeared was honestly even more disappointing. It made me realize how much I was willing to overlook after my original appointment. I'm not expecting every experience to be perfect, but I do expect the service I paid for to match what I asked for and for my concerns to at least be acknowledged.
